Horrible durability

We use these dishes as our every day service ware, and they DO NOT hold up at all. A number of them have chipped very easily, but mostly they just break in half for no apparent reason. Yes, I have broken one by accident, my fault, but the rest have basically committed suicide. We bought 4 sets of this item because we entertain a lot, and now I am wishing we had not done so. We only have 6 small plates left, after not too long of time. This is totally unacceptable in my world.

Will Fall Apart In A Year

The set is very cute, unfortunately it’s the least durable set of dinnerware I’ve ever seen. We’ve had it for a year and half and 3 out of 4 of the pasta bowls cracked in half just by picking them up. I contacted the company directly about this and they said that dinnerware does not have a warranty so there’s nothing they can do about this. It’s very unfortunate.

Average 3? rating. We bought 3 complete sets (10 settings for use / 2 sets in reserve to account for any breakage). The colors are strikingly beautiful, receiving many compliments from our guests. 2? deducted for slight blemishes in the glazing and in that some of the dinner plates don't sit perfectly flat; just a tad bit warped. Some imperfections add character, and we like the set.

These are worth considering

These dinner sets are beautiful, don't easily chip, and are safe in the dishwasher and the microwave. I'm thrilled to have them and look forward to serving our meals in them. Especially love that the set didn't waste productr on cups, because I would never use them, but added a second size bowl that compliments the set. Also I'm not a "Blue" person. The color of these is varied enough that I don't feel like I'm eating off of blue plates.

Not as fragile as some make it seem

Yes, there are color variations - but I think it adds to the character of the plates. I’ve had them for a year and a half and we haven’t broken or chipped any yet, and we use them every day. I’m not sure how some of these reviewers are treating their place settings… but we’ve used the dishwasher on heavy setting, NOT been gentle with these dishes, etc and they are still as good as new. We use them everyday, and I love them. I will add that we don’t have any kids yet, but with normal adult use they hold up really well and remain beautiful!

I wanted to love these, but cancer-causing is off the table

After purchasing one set of Gibson Elite Matisse, I fell in love with the look and feel, as well as the fact that instead of a mug, it includes two bowls. I bought three more sets. Subsequently, however, I was heartbroken to read the fine print: “WARNING! This product can expose you to chemicals including DEHP, which is known to the State of California to cause cancer and reproductive harm. For more information, go to www.P65Warning.ca.gov.” I reached out to Target Customer Care, who confirmed this message applies to this product. Therefore, despite being enamored of the color, pattern, and pieces in the set, I returned all four boxes of this product, opting for safety first. The manufacturer must change its process to eliminate cancer-inducing toxics.

I bought three sets about a month ago for a fresh change to our everyday dinnerware. This a beautiful stoneware set. I wanted casual and elegant. With this set you get both. Just a reminder with the glaze/fired type earthenware pieces that the color can vary a bit. I have three sets for 12 place settings and with the 3rd set the bowls have a slightly lighter glaze than the others. It doesn't bother me because I expected it with earthenware but it may bother others. It is a beautiful deep blue. The color will remind you of a pair of mid dye washed blue jeans. It's very pretty, but not overly bright. Each piece is very well made, solid but not too heavy and the bowls are smaller but deep. I loved that there were no cups but instead included a pasta type bowl. So far no issues at all and have already taken multiple dishwasher runs with no sacrifice to the finish. I couldn't be happier with it; Love it!
