Impression Havana 50-Gallon Rain Barrels

Havana 50-gallon rain barrels look great and came with everything I needed. The one thing I didn’t like is the two drain holes for planter areas spurt to the back and in heavy rainfalls would eventually damage my brick from the pressure so my hubby added tubes to each hole to create drainage tubes directed to an area where we wanted the water. I bought three and may get one more!

Leak out back side

These state that they are designed for overflow to come out the front away from the foundation. However, there are two holes in the back that spew like a fountain in the opposite direction of the overflow when the barrel is nearly full. There needs to be a drain pipe on these holes

Inspect your package for someone else opening

Received an item that I think may have been used. The bag with the parts was open and items missing. The barrel was bent maybe it was compressed as the shape was not even on all sides. the company has poor customer service hours and response. I rather just return and get a new one. will order again or another model.

Good idea rain barrel

Good, Not Great

We are pleased overall with the barrels but they are not perfect. We bought 5 and they are all the same. They seem sturdy and do look good, although they have a greenish color more than khaki. We like that the faucets are brass but it is difficult to get them in so that there is no leaking. There is no simple way to attach more than one together. The biggest problem is with the inlet. The filter screen is useless and just deflects the water so we will have to come up with another way to filter the water coming in.

Base Leaks

I have had this item for at least a year. The base is leaking and has moldy mildew. All valves are tightly shut. I bought this as a second one because I really liked the first. This model is different in color and size from the first I purchased. I can tell they started making it different like many things nowadays: thinner, smaller, cheaper, breaks easily and more expensive. So annoying.

Good Rainbarrel!

It's attractive and was a great buy from Sam's, especially if you are a Plus member with free shipping. I've been trying to reduce the amount of municipal water I use due to the contamination of many wells by either corporations or the military here on Oahu, and the possibility of water shortages in the future.

Not for Us

We returned the barrels because there is not enough pressure to push water through a hose on to surrounding vegetation.

Quality control issues

Poor packing: arrived damaged, will be returning. Color is far green, not khaki by any stretch of the imagination. Not level: seams create center bulging so it cannot be placed on a level surface. Needs better method of connecting with gutter do mosquitoes and insects cannot enter. Spigots very good.Other two work well with modifications.

Attractive, subtle, and blends with outdoor look of property. One of the handles on the brass spouts was broken. I replaced myself.
