Excellent hanging planter, top of the line. Very good quality, the material is extremely strong. I own several Veradek planters, which I have had for several years and they are all in excellent condition. I highly recommend this brand.

NEW DESIGN - NEW PROBLEMS. not functional at all

i received a bowl shaped planter, w/ (4) 1/4" wing nuts holes, and 2 3/4" "drainage holes" (big imo - but ok w/ cover,) 3 little strings, and an S hook. thats it. previous reviews show a rigid metal triangle went under planter & a bottom cover piece attached by 4 wing nuts. New design means no bottom cover, no hanging frame — just a big bowl w/ BIG UNCOVERED HOLES in the bottom - & some strings. the planter is really good quality but their new hanging system isnt going to work.

Nice Hanging Planter, but Lacks Color

I do like this 15" (in circumference) hanging potted plant with the exception of the cord length. While the cords are durable (made with plastic over cable), the cords are just too short in length for my preference. If they were as long as the advertising picture, it would be a 5 star review.

Missing pieces

I would have really liked this however it’s missing pieces. It is missing the hanger frame, interior plate, drainage plus, and wing nuts. I could use it as a non hanging planter. But without the other pieces I’m unable to use it properly. Which is a shame, it’s nice and large. It’s all weather resistant, scratch resistant, and fade resistant.

Very sturdy, great sized & nice color!

The Veradek Pure Series 15 Round Hanging Planter for what I’m looking for as a long-lasting planter to hang a huge batch of pretty flowers on my deck year after year is perfect. It is made of plastic so it is very light but it is also thick so it is very heavy duty. It seems like it will handle a drop or two with no problems. The color being dark is perfect to highlight any color flowers we plant in it. The 3 hanger cables are super easy to install if you have someone with a slightly mechanical mind who can look at them and understand how to loop them through themselves. The instructions that came with it refer to a different cable mounting system. Other than that little thing, I love this planter and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to get one or more hanging planters to use inside or outside.

Easy n Stylish

This hanging planter from Veradek Pure Series is a beautiful planter to put in any setting. It can be used indoors or outdoors. I’d just recommend if you use it in doors to have a plastic insert or something inside because it doesn’t come with plugs so that the water can drain properly if it were outside. It it’s extremely easy to assemble. The planters bowl is well made. I believe it could withstand lots of changes in the weather. I can’t answer if the black fades over time outdoors since I haven’t had it long enough and mines is indoors.

Attractive, modern and heavy

This black minimalist modern hanging planter is really attractive. Wide and deep its perfect for succulents as they have shallow roots and do well here in the desert. Easy to fill, yet heavy, l advise a sturdy hook for hanging, and a helper to support it as you attach the coated, included S ring to the hook. The instruction card is all pictures and l realized after l put the plants in that the inner plate and nuts seen there, were missing and l could not hang it. I emailed the company who replied the same day and told me that the instruction card was outdated and l didn't need those items and they no longer included them. Disaster averted. However they did inform me that the 4 drain plugs were missing from the box, and they sent them to me in 3 business days. I had already lined the inner with coffee filters to keep the soil from coming out the bottom. I will buy a matching planter despite that slight hiccup.

Missing Parts but Nice Planter

I was very excited to get this product but unfortunately the box didn’t contain all of the parts for this to work. I’m just going to review what I can. The planter is very large and made of heavy duty plastic materials. The color is a nice matte black and would have looked good hanging up on porch filled with colorful plants. The package I received only came with the planter, chain and hanger part. Several parts were missing to make this a hanging planter. I’m still going to use the planter, I just won’t be able to hang it.

Big, roomy and beautiful hanging planter

Oh boy! When this was delivered and I opened the box, I was shocked at how big the planter is. I should have read the specifications online more carefully! At first, I thought it was going to be too huge and heavy and bulky. But as I’ve had it sitting here on my dining room chair and I’ve been studying it, I’m beginning to love it.

Built to last

When they made this planter, they made it to last. I’m SO IMPRESSED! They hangers are wire not a cheap rope that will break. The planter is crack-proof, fade-resistant, scratch resistant and multi size drainage holes.

Buyer beware - picture is misleading

Buyer beware: I ordered these planters for inside my home. The pic on the website does not show that there are multiple drainage holes drilled in the bottom of the planter. When it arrived there was an "instruction card" suggesting that there was an "interior plate" that can be used to block the holes. However, this plate is NOT included in the package. I thought the first time it was a mistake and they had just left it out of the packaging. However, the 2nd time I ordered it, it was the same thing. Shame on Overstock for not making this more clear to customers. Now they want me to pay return shipping. This is NOT the way to do business.

The product arrived pretty quickly and was wrapped in plastic stretch wrap, I'm assuming to prevent scratches which it did. the big but in this review is that the bowl was not round and was warped and deformed, I ordered 2 and both arrived this way. this doesn't give me any faith that over time with the actual weight of a plant and dirt, this will continue to spread. id recommend looking at alternatives.

This Veradek 14" Black Plastic Round Planter Hanging Kona Bowl is really great for showing off my succulent plants. It is 14" wide and only 6.25" deep. Succulents don't have very deep roots, so the depth of this pot saves me having to add a lot of unneeded soil. As you can see from my picture below, I was able to plant a lot of succulents into this 14" bowl. The pot itself is made from polypropylene (plastic composite) and is very thick and durable. It also has been treated with a UV inhibitor to prevent it from fading, splitting and cracking. The steel hanging frame is heavy-duty, high-quality and attaches through the bottom of the pot with wing nuts which are included. Also included is a large, heavy-duty "S" hook for hanging, although you can also hang it without the "S" hook depending on your situation. This Veradek 14" black round hanging planter is nicely designed, extremely well-made and looks fabulous filled with my succulents hanging in my garden.

I really love my new VERADEK 14 IN. BLACK PLASTIC ROUND PLANTER HANGING KONA BOWL! This planter is very well made, with a steel hoop, and plate that goes under the planter to support it because of any potential heavy weights, as well as a steel “S” hook for hanging. It’s very stylish as well! It has two large drain holes in the bottom, so overwatering shouldn’t be a problem. Because of the continuous rains in my area, I used some of the plants around the house for the sake of the review, but plan on going to Home Depot to find something permanent. If you’re looking for a heavy-duty outdoor planter, look no farther than this beauty.

Very substantial container. Thick plastic. There is no chance of it curving or bending. The metal rod for holding it securely attaches to the base with four wingnuts and bolts. You can not see that from the outside. There are two large holes in it for draining. When you first put the soil in some of it falls out of the holes. The hook is thick and heavy duty. This was very easy to put together. The metal plate goes on the inside and is bolted to the planter. I've gotten compliments on this planter.

It's made of durable polypropylene, modern black style that's break proof, scratch and UV resistant It is a beautiful bowl that you can plant up without all those hangers in your way. It comes with its own sleek hanger around 25" tall and the bowl is 14.25" wide and 6.25" tall. The bowl can actually be planted then slip the hanger under it. There are bolts that fit into the bottom but I received no nuts to hold it on. Maybe it doesn't need them but when I sit the bowl onto them it feels like it would tip off if pushed or touched. Possibly; once I get the dirt and plants into it; the weight will hold it on tight.

This first class Kona Bowl Hanging Basket arrived well packaged and protected. Everything was wrapped, bagged and taped in place for super impressive protection during shipping. The design of the Kona Bowl sets this planter apart from just about anything else. The hanger is essentially optional, so you can use this Kona as a low planter bowl, maybe on your outdoor table, or as a larger than usual, good looking hanging basket. If you choose the latter, you’ll find that assembly is easy with the screws pre-attached to the hanger and the mated holes, and drain holes already drilled. Wing nuts are provided to secure the hanger without tools, a really nice touch. There is a mated support plate that installs between the hanger’s bottom plate and the bowl to spread out the load and make sure this thing lasts forever. If you don’t believe me, wait until you see the size of the S hook -it’s going to last. I went for the hanging basket option and planted it with almost ruby begonias. Not your usual hanging basket fare but they look good and I have a protected spot where I intend to hang this Kona Bowl. As you have probably already figured out, this 14” hanging basket is heavy once planted and will need a heftier hanger than the run of the mill. That shouldn’t be a problem but something to think about while you’re in the planning stage. Although I’m putting my almost ruby begonias in a protected spot, don’t shy away from exposed locations. This thing is treated with UV inhibitors, as if the almost ½” polymer construction isn’t enough. This is a well-designed and well-made planter that would look wonderful just about anywhere in your landscape. Purchase with confidence.

Has everything I look for in a hanging planter. VERADEK’s 14 inch KONA BOWL hanging planter feels solid. The bowl itself is thick. The base it attaches to and the hanger are made of metal (also seems like the metal pieces might have some sort of coating on them to hold up to the elements rather than just being spray painted). The pieces were easy to join together with the four included wing nuts. There are two quarter size drainage holes, so my plant won’t get water logged. I think that they put some thought into finding a pleasing height and width proportion for this bowl. The size works well with my petunia plant. Looks great hanging by the door.
