Works great!

I had this installed, and it went smoothly once we figured out how the baffle installed. Not easily identified in the instructions. Replaced a very ancient Maytag that I loved. It grinds and clears quickly. While my old one had a magnetic batch switch in the cover, this one is great and the twist handle to start the batch works well and easily. I've had it installed and used for a few weeks now, and haven't had any issues at all, nor do I anticipate any. My Aunt has had an InSinkerator for over 20 years, also on septic, and has had no issues at all. Love that this one triple grinds, as I don't think this feature was available so many years ago when I got my first disposal. When "they" say not use a disposal if you have a septic field, I would question that. I haven't had any issues in the past 40+ years of use. Be sensible, don't dump grease, and compost if you can, just for your garden.

The rubber filter stops the cover from activating the InSinkErator from turning on.

Product works very well, is pretty quiet and the cover looks good in my stainless steel sink. It is hard to find a good position for the covers that blcks the sink hole and also allows it to drain quickly.

Useless - don’t give you the electrical parts

There’s a lot of reviews on here provided “as part of a promotion”, the reality is, this is an awful to instal product.

I replaced an old 3/4 HP insinkrator and the waste line didn’t line up

Third Insinkerator. Quality keeps going down. Instructions not always clear. Thank god for parts description pictures. Re-read instructions. Some guess work involved. Consider other manufacturers after reading reviews. Anti vibration system lacking in performance. Not like the old one.

Wasn’t able to install because the batch feed switch required the same connection as the cord Home Depot recommended. Yes the description says hard wired but the suggested add on purchase of the cord made it look easy. Home Depot did not offer a corded, batch feed disposal. Returned this and purchased elsewhere.

A plumber had a hard time installing it.

Disposal runs quietly & seems to be working properly, but it was a BEAR to install. The installer actually needed to use a car jack to boost it up to reach the sink, because the unit was so heavy & all the connectors are in the back of the unit. Easy Install???

Love the safety of the magnetic cover. No switch. Runs by the magnetic cover. No chance for injury.

High quality unit. Quite powerful and very quiet. Replaces earlier model that lasted about ten years.

Beware of new dimensions

The Home Depot website specifications list this at 12.25" H and then in further details lists 15" H. I purchased this and since the device is actually 15" H, it didn't fit under my sink. I was hoping to have this Cover Control device installed as I had a 15 year Kenmore Cover Control to replace, but my plumber said that the additional black collar on this unit made the whole thing too tall to install, so back it's going.

Poor electrical connection

The product is very good, however in case you want good instructions and quality on electrical parts, go for other brand. This one is poor, complicated, and the kit that comes with the product is not properly for outlet, just for hardwired installation. If you have an outlet, the parts are different, and you cannot find it! So, buy a power cord only. Afterwards, you need to cut the terminal and make the cable hard (soldering), then connecting it back to the product, as a hardwired installation.
