Disappointed

I was excited to get the unit but was certainly skeptical of some of the reviews posted here. One even states that it heated a garage from 40 to 78 in ten minutes. I have a fully insulated two car garage just under 500 sf. On a 50 degree day, I ran the unit for 1 hour and the temp in the garage went from 51 to 54 degrees. I either have a defective unit or the reviews being posted are less than accurate.

I'm not sure why this is sold as a 30amp 4800watt heater. I bought this brand new unit and the maximum output I have been able to get on a 240v 30amp circuit is 10.4Amps and roughly 2400watts. It is advertised as double that wattage. This is with the thermostat set to 99 and fan on high. The circuit power measured 242volts so it's not an issue with the circuit. Very disappointing.

this heater solved our bath frozen water problem.

We have a rental that the bathtub water valve would freeze the temperature drops below 20 degrees. We put this heater into the crawl space under the bathtub. Problem solved no more problem of bathtub water freezing.

Compact, effective, and easy to use.

Installs and works easily. Required additional wired outlet but a minor effort for an electrician. Very effective in taking the chill off a 2-car garage.

Heat a garage? What an insult! I have to put my hands in front of it to get them warm!

Works fine but the instructions can be improved

This is really more of a wall or ceiling mounted heater than a freestanding/portable heater. It needs a big 30 amp 240 volt outlet which the average garage probably does not have. I had a 30 amp circuit with 30 amp wiring but a 20 amp outlet used for a small TIG welder, so had to install a 30 amp outlet.

Did not realize what type of plug it used until I read the reviews after using my points to purchase. Guess I will be gifting it to my father.

So far, so great.

I set this heater up in my living room a few days ago. It keeps the temperature at a very comfortable level with a nice breeze, with the same noise level as a fan. Much less expensive to operate than the propane gas furnace.

Settings has to be reset after power outage

I have to return heater (unused) because the company’s tech support told me that when there is a power outage, the programmed settings of the heater has to be reset. For my application, that would spell disaster as I bought it to heat my greenhouse. I do not want to have my plants freeze if there is a power outage while I’m not home.

It's a completely different plug, which needs an upgraded electrical outlet. Returned.
