Not an HID, High Pressure Sodium Light Replacement

"250-Watt Equivalent" is misleading. Looks like an HID but it's not a replacement for one. Only when you receive it do you learn it's 250-Watt Equivalent to an incandescent bulb not HID. A 250-watt HID bulb puts out 4x-5x more lumens than this.

[Rewarded Review] Great replacement for sodium lights

I had an old sodium light on my workshop that was getting increasingly difficult to find bulbs for. Swapping in this LED was a simple project and I was able to use the existing post and wiring so took about 10 minutes. The light turns on quickly and provides a nice amount of light to a wide space around my workshop at night. It’s sturdy and I’ve had it up for about a year and it’s holding up nicely in the weather and the bugs. I like the glass around the sides as it allows a nice spot downwards but then avoids glare towards the sides. Really couldn’t ask for anything more so I bought three more to add to the corners of my workshop.

Excellent security lighting. Very easy to install and great lighting at nighttime. Only thing I would like to see is a better mounting brackets. Would recommend this product for anyone.

[Rewarded Review] A Fantastic Gable Wall Luminaire

I know one can mount this on a post as a dusk-to-dawn or driveway light, but it also serves superbly as a gable end wall luminaire above a garage / shop / outbuilding door header. Three lag screws will position it wherever you like. See photograph 1. The die-cast aluminum arm also incorporates a flange that can be weather-sealed to the wall cladding and shelter the cable / liquid-flex / conduit connector entering the fixture’s junction box. From the specification I learned the expected service life is 70,000 hours and the product is warranted for 5 years. Drawing less than 30 watts, the luminaire greatly exceeds the more common standard of LED performance – normally 90-100 watts of illumination per watt of energy. It seems that mounting this fixture higher yields greater utility. Referring to the Specification listed on the product page, I found an iso-candela chart telling me that, when mounted 15 feet above the ground, the light would produce 20 foot-candles minimum at ground level in a 45-ft. diameter hemisphere beneath it. For me, that’s good enough to play Horse at nighttime, and certainly good enough to pull-in and back-out cars from the garage. At receipt, the only thing to do was mount the clear globe. See photograph 2. It affixes with two simple screws. See photograph 3. Clear instructions are in the package. And the fixture is completely labeled. See photograph 4. Once the fixture is connected using the junction box built into the arm, one begins to enjoy reliable service of the stout housing with substantial heat dissipation built in. See photograph 5.

[Rewarded Review] Light weight

This light will work good for low to moderate height with a smaller area to light up. The light is fairly light weight which makes it easier to hang. It is setup to either be put on a horizontal pipe or you can use the supplied lag bolts and put it onto a wooden post. It has a shield that hangs down from the light base. It is made in China, but seems to be well made. The light does have light sensing for dusk to dawn operation.

[Rewarded Review] Extremely good fixture

Wow, huge improvement over the sodium lights! 250 watt equivalent and 4,000 lumens! I love the dusk to dawn feature. Many times I would hesitate to put the previous light on when leaving in the morning because it would stay on during the day if I was out! This is easy to install with the simple including instructions! I am impressed at the 70,000 hour lifespan! Easy mounting to a wall or post. Can also mount to a pole when you purchase a mounting arm. I installed on a wall which was simple and easy.

[Rewarded Review] Nice design and sturdy

What an amazing light! I don’t think I have ever seen an open lampshade like this but it makes perfect sense as the insects that are attracted will fall to the ground instead of getting stuck inside the shade. I hope to spend less time cleaning this one and more time enjoying the light. This will go on my shed so I don’t have to grab a flashlight every time I walk out for something in the dark. With the LED efficiency I don’t think it will cost me much of anything to operate. I almost didn’t see the light sensor on top. It is so small it is hard to believe. The wire connections are easy to get to. I will be directly mounting mine but if it was a pole light you can easily push the extra wire into the pole. Well made and solid.

[Rewarded Review] Good Value Light Source

I got this outdoor light fixture because it had two features I wanted in a night light: 1/ it is and energy efficient LED unit and, 2/ it operates dusk to dawn. Also, since I'm illuminating the back side of the garage, I did NOT need an overpowering light source. This unit is the equivalent of a 250-watt traditional bulb (but it will last much longer!) and will do nicely for my application. I did not give it an excellent rating for personal reasons: 1/ I don't like die cast metal (my opinion: too brittle and easily broken) and 2/ the plastic 'down shade' is a very thin plastic. Those points being made, I realize this LED fixture will be mounted high on the garage apex and will be somewhat protected by the 2 foot overhang of the roof. So, bottom line, this is a good value; and I must add: an easy install.

[Rewarded Review] Should have bought this years ago

Gone is that annoying buzzing and eerie yellowish light that made my side yard look like an industrial yard. This all-in-one unit is absolutely silent, plus runs at a fraction of the wattage while putting out a brighter light (at about 20 watts actual consumption (I'm guessing), 12 hrs/day all year at $0.10/kwh, that's only $8.76/yr). With the bulbs rated at 70,000 hours, it should last almost 16 years. Easy installation, easy wiring, and at only $51, it was an easy call. The mount is the standard one used by many yard lights, so if you're replacing one, that means you can use your old bolts and no new holes (though it comes with bolts). The housing is much bigger than it needs to be for the small cluster of LEDs in the middle, but that light gets around. Light is brilliant but not garish. Has a 5-year warranty, well beyond standard. Should have bought this years ago when my buzzy, yellowy classic sodium-vapor light first went out!

[Rewarded Review] Great looking light

I'm anxious to install my new Cooper Lighting Solutions Halo outdoor security light. This model has a 16 year life. The die-cast metal construction seems very durable. The mounting is standard 3 bolt pattern. The light output is equal to a 250 watt incandescent bulb, but only draws 40 watts. These lights are Energy Star compliant. My favorite feature is the open bottom refractor to eliminate bug cleaning.

[Rewarded Review] Bright Light-Easy Install

Selected the Cooper LED lights for outdoor lighting at home and at our farm. The 4000+ Lumen light emits a bright white light. The clear refractor distributes the light uniformly. The body of the light is cast aluminum, very durable. The built in dawn to dusk sensor functions as designed. The LED light has a project lifespan of 70,000 hours and comes with a 5Y warranty. Installation is easy utilizing the included hardware and install instructions. Once installed, the three point mount is very secure. The refractor also protects the LED's from weather or debris. Overall we are very pleased with these lights.
