Excellent Product

This product was perfect for my bathroom conversion from tub to walk-in shower. I was impressed with product quality and through and complete installation instructions.

Would buy again

We currently love our tile redi shower base! It has a sloped angle to keep water moving down the drain to prevent any puddles building up on the floor. We had no issues with tiling over it and love the extra protection it provides. I would definitely use this product again for future bathroom renovations!

for Redi Base® 36 In x 48 In

The base insert worked as planned but I was a bit disappointed that it wasn't made from the same material as the last one I bought. This once was more of a dense foam material versus what appeared to be more of formed polymer. This one wasn't as rigid, and the installer didn't like it as much as the 1st one we put in a year prior.

Exactly as advertised

I am a DIY remodeler. I was a bit intimidated by the reviews that it was a difficult install. I am happy to say, if you follow the directions this is super easy. Mudding the floor made me anxious that I had to have it perfect. I watched their video and took my time. It took me about an hour to mud and level as instructed to ensure all ribs made contact. I was pleasantly surprised by the ease and quality of this product. I highly recommend.

Easy to install. You must use a non modified thin set under the unit when putting it in place. And you must use Redi Tile epoxy to install floor tiles. They say you can use thinset but the epoxy is a much better adhesive. In all much cheaper than building a shower base and getting the correct pitch

Single Curb Shower Pan

We ordered this shower pan for our upcoming master bathroom remodel. We cannot wait to have a custom shower (we currently have a corner fiberglass shower insert and it's just not big enough). Since we have not actually installed this shower pan, I cannot comment on its performance or durability. However, I will say it appears to be a well-made piece that will work well for what we need it for. Our contractor recommended this product to us as he has used it in his own home. We trust his opinion so we're hopeful it will work well for us as well.

Disappointed. If there were other products available, I would have taken the base back. I expected that a 34 inch base to be wider than a 32 inch base. Not only is the pan not wider but because the step is 4.75 inches wide it's actually narrower. I knew the step was wider but maybe giving the actual measurements would help. At this point I'm stuck.

Very happy.

Outside of a very late delivery, this could be a COVID issue so gave it a pass. This product was what it said it was. The front lip is only 2.5 inches wide so I did build it out so I could put a proper threshold in. This was not a big issue. Once positioned on the mortar bed the base was firm, be sure to use enough mortar. I did purchase the optional flashing not offered at HD. I ordered direct from Redi-Tile. There website was very helpful for a DYI guy. If you don't have access to the plumbing from underneath I would suggest using a expanding plug to help pull the drain pipe into the drain fitting on the base, worked well.

This is not for an average DIY person. If installed on cement slab the drain pipe has to be perfectly lined up for base to fit on to it. Not easy! When getting ready to set the base on beading mud , almost impossible to get every cavity to fill with the mud. If not done right the first time, there's no going back. If you have never used this product before, you may want to at least talk to someone that has. The drain it's self is pretty cheap. For the price of the unit I would expect better. If I was going to do it all over again I might try it, but the learning curve on your first time using this product is pretty steep. Ask around before you get started. It can turn out to be a pretty expensive mistake. Read the reviews. Reviews will tell you a lot about some of the problems and also some good things.

Inferior design, and NOT WORTH THE MONEY

I am a homeowner, but have done many remodel projects and used to work in construction. I went this route as I thought it might save so time, but it was certainly not worth the extra $ paid. First off, if you don't have access to the sub-floor/plumbing, the flange design makes this much more difficult, and much worse than other products I have used. The mfg recommendation for mortar base, does not adhere to the underside of the pan, and as you will read in many other reviews, often this means you will get pockets under the pan and it is crunchy when you walk on it. I had to repair myself with screws and silicon and then waterproof membrane (kind of defeats the purpose of a seamless pan. They require an epoxy mortar to lay tiles, which by itself isn't horrible (although messier than traditional thinset), but they don't give you enough, so if you have to run long tiles vertically, you have to use epoxy for the bottom of the tile where it is on the base and then traditional thinset on the top. Just way more difficult. Also do not spend the extra money for their flashing. I thought there might be something unique here, but it is just formed sheet metal and if your studs aren't perfect, it will flair out. I had to remove it and do with a waterproof membrane.

Tile-Redi 30" x 60" Shower Base

Had ordered one of these shower bases for a previous bath reno @ another house. Liked the concept and ease (for our contractors) of installing this pan. It is pre-fab to specific size. There is a choice of drain location, as well as drain cover finish. There is also an extra wide edge (curb) along the longer edge for the threshold to be applied to. It comes w/an epoxy to be applied to set to floor boards & special cement for the tile to be applied to the pre-fab base. Very sturdy.

Base arrived in good shape and once set in a mortar bed was solid with a decent fit. One big DRAWBACK. The base is polyurethane and requires epoxy adhesive to set tiles which was included but a nightmare in terms of pot life. In Colorado with no humidity, epoxy adhesive pot life 25 minutes. Knowing I could not set all my tiles in that time, I called Tile-Redi Technical Support. You can skim coat the base with the epoxy, let dry for 24 hours, then use normal tile mortar which I did. So why does not Tile-Redi pre-coat the bases before shipping to save the end user the manic scramble of tiling the base before losing the epoxy? For $600, that is what I'd expect. So three stars.

The product looks different than in the pictures .... more like compressed foam. I read the instructions and watched the mfg. video at least three times each. Since I didn't have access to the plumbing from below the installation was especially complicated. Frankly there is NO way that this product can be installed by following the instructions. I tried repeatedly to set the base correctly in a 1" bed of the specified mortar mixed to the specified consistency. I finally had to abort the entire effort and dispose of about 120 lbs. of mortar. I finally devised an alternative installation plan and was able to install this satisfactorily but I still would not recommend it and wouldn't use it again.

Unfortunately, the plumbers I hired (Fix-It 24/7) installed it incorrectly and now I have to hire a company to remove it and have a shower pan built from scratch. I realize it was not the fault of the product, but the installers. However, it is a difficult and complicated process to install, one needs to follow the instructions very carefully. I would not recommend or use this pan again. Thank you, JD.

Over priced. poor quality. Installers did not want to work with it. DYI not possible. drainage angle to steep. Difficult to lay floor because of sharp angle. Round drain harder than square to fit. very difficult to squeeze mortar to fill voids. Why don't you just make the bottom solid and flat. Bed into thin layer of thinset.

shower pan

Product is sturdy. Installation is not exactly as shown in the video. Following those directions, the pan gave when stepped on after being set in mortar bed. I used another type of mortar and mixed it to cake mix consistency so that the ribs on the underside of the pan would ooze down and leave no air holes between the pan and the floor. Because of the oozing, I built a sort of frame to keep the material from oozing out to bathroom floor. It does not move now! Have waterproofed and will begin tiling. Make sure you check all diy sites on internet before installing.

Tile Redi Shower Pan Review

Overall, I was a bit disappointed with the quality of the Tile Redi shower pan. I expected it to be more durable, but the polyurethane is fairly flimsy. In short, it's light enough that if you were to drop a power tool on it, the tool could puncture it. The edges and corners can be easily damaged too if you're not careful with it.
