Better to have too much space than not enough.

The mechanical combination was a bit of a poser to use at first and the tumblers aren't quite as smooth as I would think. The clips for the shelves were just a bit bigger than the holes in the racks so they were a bit of a chore to get in. It does hold all my important docs and hopefully I won't get to find out if the fire rating will hold true. Yes I would recommend buying this safe.

Perfect safe and shopping experience

I bought this safe for my house and it arrived the next day! I was delivered in perfect shape on a pallet and well wrapped. Open up the box and everything was perfect. It is a very heavy safe burglar and fire resistant to 1830 degrees for 2 hours. I bought the manual combination lock and it worked perfectly. Would definitely by from Zoro and Mesa safes again!

Very nice safe, some things to be aware of before installing.

Very nice safe and only have 2 problems - fixed myself. I received 2 each of 5/8" anchor bolts to secure it to my cement floor. Drilled the 5/8" holes in the cement after marking the holes through the safe bottom, which had 1 1/2 inches of insulation on it. Pulled the safe away and prepared to drive the anchor bolts through the safe bottom into my pre-drilled holes and found the holes in the safe bottom were drilled at 1/2" so the anchor bolts wouldn't go through to the masonry floor. Had to drill them out on the safe to make them fit. Many people would not have had the equipment or knowledge to drill through 10 gauge steel as I did.

Nice safe but a couple things could definitely be improved. Very disappointed that you can not change the combination and are stuck with the one from the factory, which is recorded somewhere with the serial number of the safe. Secondly there are 4 holes in the bottom of the safe, I know they are for bolting the safe to the floor, should you choose to do so, (although they only give you 2 bolts). If you choose not to bolt it down, (buying 2 more bolts on your own, to fill all 4 holes), you are left with 4 holes in the bottom of your safe, which are plugged, but not sealed, with cheap, loose fitting plastic caps. The safe can't be water proof as advertised with loosely covered holes in the bottom, & I would think it would be more fire proof if they were tightly sealed.

I'm very satisfied with this purchase. I have a small business. For daily receipts, I use a Mesa Lock Depository safe. I've worked at a myriad of businesses, and have experience with many different brands of safes, the Lock Depository safe from Mesa has been the best safe I've worked with to date. So, when it came time to purchase a safe for my home, Mesa was my choice. I needed something larger than what I use at the store. Look Behind The Padding

It will work for the purpose it was purchased. There was a hole on one of the bottom corners that will not affect its use; but, it may be impacted should it be within a fire. As I was looking for the Serial Number, I pulled some of the sides away from the shell and was surprised at the condition of the holes that had been drilled into the bottom. Somebody needs to review their Quality Control function.

Excellent customer service by sales personnel. The safe is adequate quality and reasonable price for my needs. Not happy about buying a product made in China however. . Shelf holder bars were at slightly different heights so shelves are not quite level. Manual combination lock workds fine.. Dont pay exhorbitant in home delivery fee. Should be the same as a business delivery.

I decided on the Mesa MBF2620C for its durability, looks, good overall quality and construction. I chose the mechanical lock over the electronic lock because I wasn't interested in battery replacements or possible failures with electronics. With a little practice I can now open this safe in less than 10 seconds with no issues. The dial operates smoothly, but felt a little scratchy initially. It has felt smoother the longer I've used it. Space inside is large with plenty of room for a couple laptops, fireproof boxes, small USB hard drives, handguns, cameras and jewelry. The shelves are adjustable and pretty easy to work with as well. The interior is low-profile felt/carpet and quite smooth.

For the price I believe this is a good buy, but with some observations. The combination dial was delivered slightly bent, but still worked. The shelf supports are not anchored well and don't seemed to be capable of holding a lot of weight, but they are adjustable and removable. Also I know a fire safe door has to have some looseness to relieve pressure if a fire happens, but this safe seems to have more looseness than is necessary. We have another fire safe and the door is much tighter. Having said all this, similar size fire safes with other manufacturers were as much as 50 to 100% higher in price. For my purpose this safe fits our needs just fine.

PLEASED WITH EVERY PART OF PURCHASE

I bought the 22"W x 22"D x 261/2"H Safe with Combo Lock. The safe arrived quicker than I thought, well-protected on a 4 x 4 wooden pallet. Combo lock work on first try. On the last turn you have to move the dial past the first resistance to the firmer resistances some few ticks away on the dial. I tried it, as per instructions with door opened a couple of times. All details to the safe are well-attended to, including the tailoring of the felt material inside, shelves (two) fit perfectly and are adjustable. I have this in a walk-in closet and have to leave the door open when I'm in the bedroom to admire it. Super powder-coated paint job. Great action on the combo lock...didn't want the electronic lock...trust the old style better. I saw similar safes on line for twice as much. Extremely satisfied at the quality of this safe. It weighs 225 pounds and can be anchored to the floor with 2 or 4 bolts, but once I got my material in it, it wasn't going anywhere without great effort.

Safe, but NOT Accessible!

This is a good safe but the combo locking mechanism and quality control at MESA's assembly factory are junk. 14 months and 35 times used after purchase the combo lock seized up when attempting to open. 1st Mesa telephone tech was helpful. 2nd Mesa tech (after 1st suggestions did not work) was of no help. 2 months past warranty, I'm on my own. Thankfully my local locksmith was able to able to get in without drilling. He was surprised to see most of the internal screws within the locking mechanism not fastened down all the way. And even when all the way down the main arm still has a wobble allowing the dial to not spin as true as it should.

Rock solid safe

Great safe. Heavy (225lbs). Nice feel on the combination lock. Took a while to learn the nuances of the combination lock (this isn't like opening your old high school locker combination...even if you left the combination in plain sight, your average thief would not be able to open the safe). Easily bolted down to flooring through 4 pre-drilled holes at bottom of safe.

Let me start by saying that I did a fair amount of research before purchasing this safe. Its all metal construction and mechanical lock make this a excellent choice for home security. This is a good size safe! It's 200 pounds and once its bolted to the floor it would be very hard for someone to gain access to the contents.
