Not a super sturdy chair. If you need to sit higher than the lowest setting, it gets pretty sketchy. If my work station was taller, the chair would have been returned. Easy to put together though.

Best Chair Ever

I’m thrilled to be reviewing one of my favorite items I last purchased for my children. It is a comfortable, yet stylish addition to their office space and they have not stopped talking about how nice the chair itself is made. I will most definitely have to purchase more for my nieces and nephews as well.

I bought this chair to replace my really old and dirty company chair. I was concerned about it being tall enough but the seat height raises up really high! I put it together in 10 minutes. The easy assembly is what really made me try this chair first. The chair is comfortable enough to sit in during my entire shift and it is sturdy for the price. Highly recommend!

very sturdy. cloth seat is a thicker material. screws do need to be tightened regularly. as they will become loose. color is not a solid color, it is a weaved checkered pattern. nice that the chair is a tall stool.

Chair is good for to use with adjustable height standing desk

I bought the chair for the height because I bought an adjustable standing desk. I like the grey color. It's a good, tall chair for tall people. If you have knee problems, you can place your knees on the floor instead of the foot ring.

Sturday drafting tool

The chair has served its purpose well. The assembly itself was not as straightforward as it could be (some parts of the instructions were not clearly illustrated), but once assembled, it's a sturdy chair. The wheels move well and the foot rest ring is nice, but the armrest, being totally plastic with no padding, could be quite uncomfortable after a while. I didn't think this would bother me that much, but it actually does, so that's one thing to keep in mind if you like to rest your arms on the armrest.

Does the job, other co-workers ready to buy also!

The chair does the job, fits my standing desk perfectly. The seat may be a hair narrower than the average office chair, just a hair. The back is not adjustable, but it's not uncomfortable, as I'm standing half the time. After putting the chair together, the way the seat set on the that center hydraulic thing, it seemed to be too wobbly. I worried, and tried not to take it off center by leaning back/rolling too much in it. Turned out to be fine, I'm not rough with it and it feels well grounded. If you're rough with a tall rolling chair, maybe spend more money on something sturdier, otherwise it was a great buy.

Slightly Wobbly

Very comfortable stool, wobbles a little bit perhaps due to the longer piston. Not enough to be annoying. The arms are thick plastic, perhaps made of polyethylene and they can flex a bit. Will be interesting to see how well they hold up over time.

My craft/sewing room has work benches set up throughout the work space so I needed a bar height chair that was comfortable and easily moved around the room. I decided that a drafting stool would be the ideal solution. My local Staples didn't have one in stock that was in my price range so the sales clerk helped me find this one and ordered it through an on-line purchase. I was pretty hesitant because I never got to see it or sit in it before I got it, but decided that if I didn't like it I could simply return it. It was delivered several days before expected, which was wonderful. I opened the box to find a bunch of parts that looked pretty intimidating at first. I found the instruction sheet and started assembling it step by step. Within 15 minutes I had it put together and sat in it for the first time. I was surprised at how sturdy and comfortable it was. For the price, it is very solid and high-quality. I highly recommend this item!

Lifesaver!

I have a bad back and bought this for use during long screen presentations in the front of my classroom and to use during plan-time so that I don't have to change my computer set-up for that hour. The height is great to match my media cart, and also allows me to see ALL students clearly. It is comfortable and supportive, and the wheels allow for an easy move to the back of the room to observe/record student presentations. It was money well spent!

Great chair

I use this chair in my kitchen, as I have a hard time standing for more than a minute or so. Bad back. I like the idea that you can raise and; lower the seat, and that it is tall enough so you can stir on top of the stove. Also works well (with cabinet door open) to sit at sink to peel things. The foot rest ring is very important to have, and don't get one without it. Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase, as it is a lot less money than most, and the quality is excellent.

Disassembly for Reassembly is Key for these chairs

I ordered two of these to use at my breakfast bar. The first thing I encountered upon Disassembly of the lower seat cushion mounting screws: I had to use a square shank flat tip screwdriver and a crescent wrench to remove the screws for the base plate and the arm rests. This took an hour to accomplish and I'm very mechanically inclined. First chair assembled OK and functions fine. Second chair: one of the receptacles that the screw anchors in stripped out in the wood seat base. I returned this chair and had a replacement inside a week. Good Job Overstock on quick replacement!!!! Here's the secret to removing AND reinstalling the screws: use a blow dryer on each screw heating it for approximately 45 seconds before trying to remove each screw. The manufacturer uses thread locker on each screw when they insert the screws for shipping. They should simply place screws in a bag with a small tube of thread locker for final assembly. If a screw gives you trouble removing or during assembly simply heat it up again. This will save you ALOT of hassle with these chairs.

just what I was looking for!

I bought 2 chairs for my craft room. They will be used for sitting at a counter and then turning to a table. The adjustment is very helpful. I love the foot ring as I am short. It helps to get into the chair and of course for resting my feet! The assembly was easy, I did it by myself! The covers for the pole were a bit confusing and the instructions were of no help! They were very brief, mostly pictures and were not for the drafting stool - basically for an office chair - so placement of the pole covers was common sense. It took me a couple of tries to get them positioned correctly!! I still am very happy with them and look forward to many happy years of crafting in them! Also, after looking at many drafting stools, this price can't be beat!

I decided to use a drafting table for crafts - mainly painting. This is a new hobby for me, so I had no equipment. I realized that I would need a stool and had nothing suitable. I shopped locally and found poorly constructed, barely padded and very uncomfortable seats. Then I shopped Overstock.com and located this drafting stool at a price comparable to *** chintzy model.
