I like the lamp . It has a metal and glass base. Hope you make more of these. Apparently I got the last one.

It can be opened!

Got this on clearance with the intention to change the bulb to an Edison one. Tried to open it as the bulb it came with was crooked and realized I couldn’t after reading other reviews. Figured there had to be some way to open it and good news you can! If you have a study pair of pliers. It still works just remove the foam on the bottom and the plate. You can also change the battery this way.

DO NOT BUY

I bought this lantern and it stopped working after a week of minimal use. Tried charging multiple times for long periods and would not turn on. It is an led bulb that cannot be changed.

$40 single use lamp

Who makes a lamp that you can't change the bulb on? Absolutely nonsense design - LED bulbs may last for "years" but they're not eternal, plus the cool blue LED totally ruins the coziness. Really disappointed I paid so much for this considering how cheap the completely closed design makes it feel.

SCAM DO NOT BUY!

I strongly recommend that no one purchase this lamp. Unfortunately it isn't designed to be opened, meaning that it can't be cleaned and the lightbulb can never be changed when it goes out (a detail that wasn't listed in its description by the way). This is the epitome of a wasteful product that will inevitably end up in the garbage given a month or two. Money wasted. The manufacturers and Target should be ashamed. I truly believe this item to be an overpriced scam.

Fail: on environmental responsibility

Super disappointed about this lovely lamp that is destined to turn into yet another piece of e-waste clogging the landfills because it isn’t repairable. LED bulbs do NOT last forever…why is Target selling such unsustainable, short-sighted crap? Questions that Target should have asked: can the battery be replaced (not just recharged), can the light bulb can be replaced with an easy to find LED bulb, and are any/all charging cords universal, not a proprietary? Social and environmental responsibility Target!

Damaged light bulb is not fixable

Pretty color and concept but… mine came with a crooked light bulb and a broke off knob that can’t be screwed back on. Apparently it’s not a replaceable bulb either so there is no way to access it to fix. Waited a bit to receive it in the mail as they don’t have it in my store and now I have to go to the store to return it as it’s not eligible for returns. Not sure I can recommend. Also, it came in the target box with no packaging and no padding, seems risky as it is glass!

You can't chabge the bulb & no insteuctions?!

Why would you make a product w a lightbulb you can’t replace?!?! I got mine & the bulb is screwed in weird so the bulb is askew but there’s no way to fix it?! This product was not cheap for what it is. It came w no instructions on the bulb, how long to charge, etc. just more junk being sold for ridic prices that only looks pretty. Thanks target for wasting my money 🙄

Super disappointing

Beautiful lantern, but what a waste! Once the light bulb goes out, that's it, no replacing it. This seems like such a simple fix, hearth and hand. Make the top of the lantern removable so you can easily replace the bulb when it burns out. Such a simple and stupid design flaw. I feel like hearth and hand should have to replace ours with a new one when the bulb burns out. Or re-make these with that one adjustment. I'm starting to feel like I buy this stuff because it is beautiful, but the designs are always cheaply made, so I expect when I buy something hearth and hand that I will only be able to use it for about a year and then it will break or stop working. I've caught myself thinking, "maybe I will buy 2, for when this one breaks".

Cute idea - poor quality

Cute idea but there is no way to open the lantern to replace or retighten the bulb. Ours broke after about 2 weeks and the manufacturer says there is no way to open it to try to replace it. :(

Part of a future landfill collection.

Great concept, but maybe some instructions would have been nice. You can’t change the bulb ever… let’s just keep filling up the landfills! Do better Target!

Poorly made/Designed

I purchased this in store and loved the look of this. The light bulb was a little loose but I said I’d tighten it when I got home. Turns out you literally cannot open it to replace the bulb. All the others at my store were already damaged. This item is very poorly made unfortunately.

Wasteful design, so we returned it

Bought it under the assumption that we'd be able to replace the light bulb and use it for many years. Not the case! The bulb may last only a few years, it's not replaceable once it burns out, and then the entire lantern will ultimately end up in a landfill. Why did they make something so substantial that's intentionally single use? Incredibly wasteful design.

Beautiful look, pro overall light quality

Beautiful aesthetic yet again another product with our future thought in the design. The light bulb nor the battery can be changed in future when they no longer function. Very disappointed in this target. You normally do so much better, starting to fault at the eco conscious forward thinking sustainably in product assortment…

Very nice except can't change light bulb

This lantern would be perfect if you could just change the bulb. We all know LEDs do not last very long and $40 is a lot to spend on something that will ultimately have to go in the landfill within probably a year. I assumed it could be changed until I got it home so now I am thinking about returning it! It’s otherwise very nicely made and looks wonderful.

Bulb not meant to be replaced

I see a lot of people asking how to replace the bulb. I called Target who got in touch with the manufacturer. There are no instructions and the light bulb is not meant to be replaced because it is an LED bulb which can last for years. Overall it’s nice looking and I haven’t had any problems with it. Hearth and Hand will probably help out for those who say it won’t turn on.

So Pretty!

I’ve been eyeing this and so glad it finally went on sale! I’m not sure why people don’t know how to charge it. It comes with a charging cord that easily plugs into a usb outlet. Just charge it for a while and it’s good again! It will be interesting to see if the bulb stays okay, but it’s great so far!
