Makes the cinch easy.

These cans were so easy to install. THE design allows for an easy cinch to close it gap between your ceiling and the fixture. Highly recommend, and will use again.

Not really 5 inches

Chi a's version of 5 inches. More like 5 5/16. Definitely will not fit in a 5 inch hole. Trim barely covers can, let alone hole

Good product

the 2 to toggle type securing anchors work well. They are much better than the 4 push lock types which never want to stay locked. I do wish they would add 1 more toggle anchor though, that would make it more secure.

Excellent product overall. Easy to install and make electrical connections. Only complaint is that the info suggested I needed a 5 & 3/8” hole saw but it turned out I needed at least 5&1/2” so to be safe I used a 5&3/4” and it worked fine. Frustrated that I bought the suggested hole saw but it did not work.

Worked very well

Purchased eight of these for the lower level family room in a tri-level. Worked very well. The "speed clamps" are much more secure and far easier to install than traditional clips used in retrofit applications. Easily draws up snug to the ceiling. The push-in connectors make wiring unbelievably simple. I highly recommend.

5.5" housing

I bought this housing as a special order because the largest hole saw blade I have is 5", and I thought i could get a nice clean cut and insert these. The stores only stock 6" housing. I was excited to find 5".

The screw down tabs for holding the fixture above the ceiling are 100 times better than the previous model with the bent flat metal clips; that alone makes it worth buying! The plastic openings for the wires to enter the housing are almost unusable and need much fiddling with, and the new push type electrical connections don't hold the ends of the wires well enough, needing the installer to back out the long screws, lower the housing assembly, and reconnect the wires, wedging them against the walls of the electrical connection "box," in order to push against the push-in connectors, in order for the wires to stay in place. The ideal solution would be to keep the new drywall hold-downs, and add pig tails, three twist on connectors, and a 3/8" knockout cable clamp!

Two stars for cheaping out. Bad form Halo for two items. First, there are only two little fins to hold this in place. Really? You realize that these are going into ceilings right? And ceilings predominantly consist of sheet rock? While working up in the attic attaching the power to these, one of the little wings went through the sheet rock and damaged the ceiling. Thanks alot guys. Right, I should have been more careful, of course. But I have to say it didn't take that much to have it go through. Three would certainly have spread the pressure much more evenly. Come on guys, pick up the game. Now, for number two. The joke you play with the weather stripping isn't funny. Make up your minds. Are you going to put it on the side of the can or on the lip? Half and half doesn't work. The wiring connections worked great for me although I have read some complaining about them.
