Build is nice and solid but hard to install and the instructions are not very clear. Returned this item and bought the bookshelf version enclume shelf.

Mounting holes are 26'' apart. Studs in most walls are 16'' apart. If you're mounting on brick/concrete/masonry or solid wood, no problem. If you're mounting on drywall with 16'' on center studs, you are in a pickle. I'm currently trying to decide how to securely mount the rack: 1) add blocking between studs (would require drywall and tile repair) 2) add a brace on top of drywall and tile the screw into existing studs, then mount this onto the new brace 3) drill a new hole into the back of the rack at 16'' from the first hole, then use drywall anchors for existing holes.

Installation is unnecessarily painful

When I finally got it up it looks fine, but installation is a huge pain. A simple wall template, or perhaps better instructions, would have made installation far easier. The two arms have a tendency to move around a bit - you can only tighten them so much, so marking the wall doesn't really work and the instructions give you zero help for marking off the holes to be drilled. I had to drill more holes for the bottom bolts after hanging the top, and one of the toggle bolts broke and had to be replaced. It was a multi day ordeal and the wall needed to be repainted afterwards. I would not recommend on the installation alone - the manufacturer clearly put little thought into this.

We were looking a long time for the perfect thing to easily hang our pots and pans that was also aesthetically pleasing. This is it. We love it and it holds many which makes more room in our crowded cupboards.

Awesome Pot Holder & Shelf!

This shelf turned out to be perfect in our small kitchen. It's solid and holds many pots, a few above and most hanging below. It looks attractive and organized. It gave us the extra space that we needed in our cupboards. I highly recommend this product.

Anchor to studs

There's only one place in my small kitchen this could go, and the support points don't align with studs, so I used the molly bolts to anchor to drywall (similar model). It held up fine for almost 4 years. But over the years, I added more and more pots (some quite heavy), and last week, *crash* the drywall failed.

Stunning.

This rack is sturdy and beautiful. And very heavy. The drywall inserts that are included are not quite big enough, nor the mounting screws for the wall. I played it safe and used larger mounting hardware once I realized how heavy this rack is...and taking into consideration what you put on it. In my case, several copper pans and assorted skillets. Overall, I am a very happy camper!

Saves me in my small kitchen

This is a lifesaving workhorse in my small kitchen where I do not have enough cabinet space to store all my pots and pans. It is sturdy and securely anchored to studs in the wall, it holds sooo much. I use ALL the hooks! It holds so much: I have multiple saucepans, frying pans, two woks, ladles, and more up there. It is exceptionally well-made and I intend to buy even more hooks - which are sold separately - soon. Thanks for stocking Crate & Barrel
