Solid Table-Easy to stain to any color preference

I bought this piece unfinished. I put a dark Jacobian Stain on it first, which is a very dark stain. Then I mixed and created a weathered wash deluted paint finish with a combination of left over paint samples I had. I used a bottle of water and a dry brush to put the paint on and wash off until I got the color I wanted. Then I added a little of the dark stain in spots that were too light. I think it turned out a nice driftwood finish. I put a light spray of satin polyurethane on the assembled table and finished with a wax.

We have stained the table and it looks terrible. There are several blotchy areas that didn't take the stain. To be told that I can't return it because I have stained an unfinished table is irresponsible on your part.

Would absolutely purchase again

I purchased the unfinished version and painted the legs white and stained the top. I get lots of compliments on it and it looks more expensive than what I paid for the unfinished version, just required some sweat equity.

Beautiful, solid coffee table

The quality of this table is top notch! I painted mine white on the base and stained and whitewashed the top. I absolutely love it! Great quality at a great price!

Hampton square coffee table.

I was pleasantly surprised how well made the John Thomas furniture was. Very easy to put together and nice looking. It is sturdy and I was going to paint but I like it as it is.

Table is lovely. Solid. Color as mentioned in other reviews is more of a taupe/greige, not solid gray. Only complaint is that there was a pretty significant crack on one of the support pieces. My husband was able to hide it so that it is not noticeable.

Happy with purchase.

Very happy with this item. All the holes were placed correctly, and it was easy enough to assemble. There were no blemishes on this piece, and has a nice heavy weight. The espresso color is warm. and fits perfectly in our living room. Not too large and not too small. I love the square design.

I purchased this table in January in the raw wood. I applied a driftwood finish to it and it turned out amazing. This a really solid well built table. I finished each piece individually and then assembled it. It did not require any light sanding before applying the first layers of stain. The assembly was easy and it looks like a much more expensive piece of furniture. I believe it is made of some type of wood like poplar or some other light wood with very little variation. I applied a dark stain followed by a layer of wash that I made and then a diluted final layer of stain and satin spray on clear coat.

Beautiful Coffee table

I wanted a pure white coffee table. Others similar to this said they were white, but they were cream. This one is pure white and it is beautiful. Quick and easy assembly. Arrived quickly and in perfect condition. There are not downsides to this table, I love it.

Love my new coffee table!

Beautiful hardwood. Came smooth and clean. I needed very little sanding. The natural wood looked nice in our livingroom, so I just put about 5-6 coats of Minwax water based Satin Polycrylic protective finish. Came out beautifully finished. Can't wait to pick out a lovely floral arrangement to brighten up the room!

LOVE LOVE LOVE!! At first, I was super hesitant just because of the price (I like to try to live frugally). I am so happy I pulled the trigger on this table. I went with the Washed Gray Taupe because if I didn't, I would probably still be trying to figure out what color to stain it with. It was the PERFECT size for my sectional. It was really easy to assemble, and one person can do it if you carefully lay it on its side when attaching the bottom shelf.

Exactly what I was looking for!

Exactly as pictured! (Got it in the darker espresso brown colored wood.) Easy assembly that didn't require any extra tools. Sturdy, solid wood construction that looks really nice in our living room. Space underneath fits soft sided bins from Target, which helps us organize our busy life with a toddler while also keeping the area tidy. I'm so, so happy with this purchase! It's basically already paid for itself.

I absolutely love this table. The workmanship is excellent. I purchased the unfinished coffee table. Real hardwood, not plywood or particle board. It went together very easily. The holes matched up perfectly. I read the previous reviews and followed their suggestion on staining the underside and also using a wood sealer before staining the top. The sides I painted. The same table is carried by other companies for more money.

Good Value, Good Bones

This is a great table to keep unfinished or you can stain it. My partner stained the legs a nice "sea bleached" color and the table top a bluish color. Really great way to make it pop in your room. The only negative thing I would say is that its is a bit smaller than what I would have liked. But overall, great table for the price.

Heavy but not able to put together...yet.

I was so excited when this table arrived; I planned to stain it a white-wash gray color. BUT, the box contained NO hardware...and I did check, open and tear the entire box. Still waiting for the hardware and/or a confirmation that I'll receive it.... The table is heavy and looks nice but I'm giving it a 3 due to the inconvenience of still not being able to put it together - this was just poor service.

Steal of a deal!!!

Its an awesome piece! I normally add pictures and I will after I finish but I ordered the unfinished color because I wanted to make it my own colors and im super excited for it all to dry and put back together! Its HEAVY! Every piece is solid. Its butcher block, if you are familiar with that then you will love this table. You cannot find anything this sturdy, easy to put together, and large for this price. Its an amazing deal!

Perfect coffee table to match our living room.

Beautiful coffee table. We love it and are impressed that not only is it attractive, but well built, and it really is hardwood. I purchased it unfinished. I stained and used a clear satin finish to match our other living room decor. The finished table is seen in the picture I've added.

Wonderful cocktail table. Coming from the furniture industry, solid woods are important to me. This is solid! Package was heavy, as expected, but all pieces were very well packaged and protected. Assembly instructions are minimal, but easy enough to figure out and assembly is easy. While I put the table together by myself (only 4 pieces total), it's a good idea to have a 2nd person available to assemble the bottom shelf. Do NOT tighten the screws until all pieces are in place and stable. Am very pleased with the product.
