Great value for the price

This is our second wool Safavieh area rug for our high traffic living room. Our last one lasted for 12 years and could have lasted longer, we just wanted to refresh the room decor. This stop short of 5 stars for this run based on several defects with the run, largely based on the fact that this isn’t a handmade run. For the price, it’s fantastic though.

I wanted a rug similar to a rug I bought 5 years ago from another vendor. They are both Safavieh Heritage collection, Green/Gold. The image on the website looked exactly like the one I had. When I received my new rug, I could not believe the colors of this rug compared to mine. This rug is ugly! It is dark, colors indistinguishable! It looks dirty all over! The quality is what I expected, but the appearance is awful! The first photo shows the dark rug I received on top of the Safavieh Heritage rug I already own. The one on top of it is the one I received and looks nothing like the image on the website. The 2nd & 3rd photos show the Heritage Collection labels on each rug, and they both say GREEN/GOLD color. I am so disappointed with my first & last purchase on this website. Less

Totally pleased with the Safavieh rug especially after vacuuming. The process compared to quality is unbelievable! Definitely a 5*. Safavieh rugs have yet to fail me! The new one just replaced another of their rugs which we have had for 10 yrs. And still looks very good so we are getting it cleaned and putting it in a guest room.

This rug isn’t a thick carpet, but with a pad under it, it is perfect, although it is not necessary to use a thick pad. It takes a while for the wrinkles from it being tightly rolled up to relax, and it does have a odor at first as most carpets do. If you can open the windows during the day for a couple of days it helps. The carpet base color is a light grayish blue, it can go either way. The cream band has a slight yellow undertone. It will go well with almost any color decor. It is a “traditional” pattern but would work well in many decors.

Looks Very Expensive

This rug is very thick, which makes it feel more expensive! I wanted a more vivid green with this beautiful blue as was shown in the picture, but it’s still good. There is a slight odor of mildew but it’s only 3 days since delivery. I’m hoping that will disappear. Overall, I’m very happy with this purchase. I would purchase again.

I purchased this runner as an entrance mat - already had a round carpet in the room (no longer available so I could not get an exact match). I read reviews and took a chance on the color and it goes pretty well. The green is a little darker than the pale green on my large rug but rather muted so blends ok. I have not experienced the shedding that some reviewers complained about. I am very happy with quality and value, as I have been with previous purchases. Rug was delivered quickly-ahead of schedule.

Sumptuous and Elegant

Safavieh Handmade Heritage Alexia Traditional Oriental Wool Rug green & Gold 11x15’ What a beautiful and luxurious carpet! Very thick and heavy, colors are muted but not muddy at all. I purchased a basic rug pad at a local home store to add a little cushion. (It still needs to be trimmed, as you can see.). The primary colors are as advertised: soft sage green and maize gold; with accents of lavender, forest green, brown and brick red. I passed the vacuum over the carpet a couple times and it filled the canister, but nothing excessive for a wool rug. I’m extremely happy with the style and quality of this purchase. Thanks Overstock for another great product at a competitive price!

Nice but color is off!

Our 3 x 5 Alexia rug arrived yesterday & we unpackaged today. We have other Safavieh rugs & it's a good brand, but the color is not what we need. Based on other reviews, we thought this would be more on the aqua/teal colorway but it is not. It is not even a pretty blue but more gray & dull looking. The rug is going back & we'll look for something else from Safavieh that meets our needs. Two other 2 x 3 Alexia rugs are due to arrive soon & may have to go back also if the color isn't right. It would be very helpful to consumers if vendors of all rugs would give much better descriptions of colors because there are lots of variations, especially with blues, greens, etc.

Rug sheds every time it is touched.

Purchased the 6x9 blue/beige rug. It is beautiful, and the perfect thickness. Unfortunately it sheds every time we walk on it. And, it is not shedding wool (looks like a poly fiber). The rug is in a little used house, so has only had a small amount of use. We have vacuumed thinking this is just new rug fuzz, but the problem continues. We have never had this issue with a rug before and it is totally unacceptable. And unfortunate. As I said, it is beautiful. But, we will need to replace it pronto.

Shouldn't complain because of the price

I like this rug better in the evening than daylight, because the colors feel warmer then. It has been down for a few weeks and is still shedding more than I am accustomed to with Safavieh rugs. I also think the colors are a bit too pea green for what I was hoping for. I wanted a rug that would really lighten up my family room, but instead it is more muted and just a shade enough off to make me feel a bit disappointed with the purchase. There is definitely lavender, and I would describe the golds as more of a dark mustard, dark gold and camel. Then you have bits of red, some taupe and mint, and an olive and pea green. I chose to keep it because the price was so very reasonable. p.s. I am adding this about 6 weeks after having the rug. It sheds. Sheds a lot. So, while the colors are growing on me, I find that I need to methodically vacuum twice a week to keep up with the fibers. Today I actually moved all the furniture and vacuumed it 5 times. Here's hoping!

Does not look the way a new rug should

I ordered the rug in the 9’ x 12’ size. It came folded, rather than rolled. As a result, the underside of the rug is deeply creased along the fold lines causing creases and ridges on the topside. Customer service suggested remedies that included renting a steamer, hiring a rug steaming company, bringing it to a professional rug shop or sending it back. I rejected those options since they required making an out-of-pocket expenditure to remedy problems with a new rug or figuring out how to repackage a very heavy rug for shipping. I did try two other options, which were putting heavy books on the creases and/or streaming them with an iron. Neither has yielded satisfactory results. I am sincerely unhappy about having to expend time and energy on this project. Why the rug was not shipped rolled, is a mystery to me. I did not get what I paid for. Less

Safavieh rugs are plush and look high end. Price makes it even more attractive. Have them all thru my home. Shipped perfectly, no folds or wrinkles. The come perfectly rolled on a tube. Only complaint lately, they are shedding more and more. Also, I noticed quite a bit of the loops are cut. They stick up. Doesn't look right. Just noticed this with 2 of the last Safavieh rugs I purchased from you. Otherwise colors are beautiful. They look rich, not "Menards" quality. Even though I love Menards. Not just their rugs!

It is a VERY pretty rug. It complements my decor and finishes off the room, giving it a much more homey feel. The only downside is that I thought beigy colors had a bit more peach to them based on the picture. They don't, but I'm still very happy with it. It was a great price for 100% Wool. I'm more comfortable with natural fibers. Update: March 7, 2019. This rug sheds so badly that it is virtually impossible to vacuum to look clean. Every time I vacuum it more & more of it sheds and it always looks like it needs to be vacuumed. I don't recommend.

Absolutely beautiful rug! I relied heavily on the reviews of others and spent MANY hours doing so before purchasing mine. Some people had pictures in their home which was a GREAT help. One rug I wanted but was out of stock was crossed off my list when I saw a picture. Thank goodness. Quality is superb! I would like to address the many differing opinions about color. I would like to add my two cents worth. This picture is has a light teal, a green, and a soft blue cloth next to the rug. The blanket in the back is a blue/teal. The ball is bright blue The candle is a soft blue and the dove is ivory. I would say this rug is a blue/teal color. You would be able to bring out either color in a room. But if you went to a Crayola box and pulled out the blue crayon, this rug is NOT. The outer edge is NOT an ivory as one person suggested. The red is a great rust color. The green in the rug is a perfect olive green. I have a rust/brown leather couch and matching recliner with a red chair in my living room. The red chair "pops" with the rug.The brown/olive green tile in the walkway is right next to this room.It all works together!! I couldn't be more pleased. The large 8x11 showed up today! Wow! Such a pretty rug. The colors are very soft and true to picture. I have it in our hallway downstairs leading to a few rooms off of the kitchen. The pile is thick and I don’t find that this rug give off a ton of those wool fuzzy clumps from people walking in it. I do vacuum and shampoo it often since I have pets. I also started having my husband power wash it in the spring and fall. I know they say you can ruin the rug but I just make sure it drys flat and it’s fine. Hey it works for me and I’m not looking to keep the same rug for 10 years (especially a runner). Just adding one more thing I just looked up when I purchased this rug. It was 2013! Excellent rug! Still looks great.

Delivery was quick, and the rug was packaged against damage nicely. There was a slight odor I'm assuming from being stored for awhile, but a nice essential oil and water mist eliminated the smell quickly. The rug quality is fantastic! It's soft, thick, plush, and the colors are beautiful. The problem is that the colors are not what I expected. They are listed as blue and beige, but it's not blue. The colors are actually more of a green and beige. Doesn't match the spot I was trying to dress at all, but the rug was at such a great price and is so nice, I've found it a home in a bedroom that works well with the actual rug colors. So, it looks lovely in an unexpected new spot. It worked out this time, but I'm trying to figure a way to eliminate spending money for a specific rug color, and if wrong, having to deal with the hassle of a return or eat the cost to avoid the hassle of a return. Less

Color is nothing close and it SHEDS!

The color is MUCH more dull than in the picture. More blue and dull beige. No warm or gold tones at all. Also the pattern doesn’t match the picture either. Less detail. Also the amount it is shedding is insane! I was expecting some because it was cheap, but it’s almost unusable. I filled up my vacuum five times with fibers and it still is getting fibers all over me and my family. I’ve been coughing with little hairs in my throat. Terrible. I’m hoping their assurances that the shedding is supposed to stop in a few months holds true.

Kermansha Wool Rug

This is a well made rug and has a deep soft pile. We placed it on a tlie floor under a table and chairs in our garden room and it serves the purpose of keeping our feet warm when we sit there.The pattern itself is vague but well executed...... however, the one I received looked as if it was created as military camoflage. The colors are extremely drab and very much the colors of camoflage items. I had anticipated more of a sage green and somewhat brighter accent colors.I ordered this before Thanksgiving and it was indicated that it would arrive before Thansgiving. I am glad that I was not depending on it to arrive for a special dinner as I would have been very disappointed it did not arrive until December 3. As usual the fine customer support staff at Overstock handled the late arrival situation and provided an agreeable resolution and we will keep it. This rug has been an outstanding addition to the decor and is still lovely and receives compliments in 2017.

Another Great Rug!

This is the third rug I have purchased from Overstock. I have 2 large rugs, and this smaller one. The Safavieh rugs are beautifully made and will last for my lifetime. I needed a rug that was somewhat muted in colors, and this rug is perfect. It is a sage green with a nice design, thick and plush. So far it is not shedding much as many wool rugs do. The backing is very good and it doesn't even need a pad and will stay put on the floor. Do be aware that the colors are more muted than the photos shown. That said, they are beautiful. A couple reviewers felt there was a lavender color in some of the trim area, however, I see that as a steel gray accent and it is very nice with the sage. It is hard to order a rug online, but I now have 3 from Overstock and I love each one in both quality and price. Highly recommend.

Beautiful rug!

My wife and I looked for quite some time for a large rug that would work well in our new warehouse apartment. For anyone starting their search, you'll find so many options of colors and materials that it can be very confusing. In the end, we wanted to avoid buying a rug made with olefin or other plastic materials, and were prepared to spend a little more for a natural wool rug.
