Perfection

Safavieh is a great company. All of the rugs I've purchased are beautiful, thick, long lasting. This is a luxurious rug, with beautiful colors. I have purchased 6 rugs from them through Overstock. I highly recommend it. I'll be back for more. P. S. There is a slight smell. I hope it will dissipate in time. I'm airing it out. I realized it was causing my home to smell so I have placed packaging n a plastic bag and have the rug outside airing out. Update 6/30 the smell is gone, I aired it out outside.

High pile, quality all-wood rose-color Indian area

Thick, hand-finished all-wool Indian area rug, off white border, main color rose with burgundy high-lights. This is a quality rug. My only surprise was that its overall color effect is rose, not the burgundy that appeaers in the photo.

Long-time User and Extremely Happy with this Rug

I have had 4 pieces of this particular Safavieh rug for about 20 years and they hardly show wear. This is a beautiful, well-made rug and I ordered a 6' round an 2 12' runners to match in my new home. Delivery was very timely. They were will-packaged. They match beautifully with my older rugs. I don't hesitate to recommend purchasing this rug. I am very pleased with this particular rug and Overstock's service in providing it.

These rugs are incredibly well made. They are thick and they hold up very well to our home with very large dogs. They hold up well to cleaning. The color in these rugs is just beautiful!. We purchased two of the large size and they are the tans black with reds and greens.

Beautiful and stylish, but sheds

This is a beautiful rug, full of vibrant colors. The design is gorgeous. The only drawback is that it sheds constantly and clogs up my vacuum hose before I'm halfway through vacuuming it. I have to stop and clean the vacuum hose a couple of times each time I vacuum this rug, and it's an area rug that doesn't even cover a full-sized room! I'm hoping it won't shed so much after I've had it for a few months.

The colors are exactly as stated. I bought 3 different sizes for hallways. It's pretty if you like these colors and design. However what I cannot understand is why with the longest one there is this white "powder" likes us tan every that keeps appearing no matter how I vacuum it up. I thought at first it must be the padding so we removed it. But it was just constantly there so after awhile we just stored it in the basement.

Beautiful colors

This is a beautiful rug with lots of muted colors. It's soft and nice and thick. It feels good under your bare feet. It sheds a good bit but that's normal for a wool rug. All of my rugs are wool and even knowing how they shed at first, I still always buy wool. They are more durable than other materials and the shedding will stop after a while. I would definitely recommend this rug!

Love this rug. It laid out flat immediately. It is thick and feels good to walk on. There was hardly any shedding. The black pattern is not as dominate as pictured but maybe it diminishes with the size of the rug. Pleased with my purchase. Want to add that the beige parts of the rug seem to look a little "dirty" for lack of a better word. Shades of the beige seems darker in places. Though I have a tendency to obsess over the least little thing. It's too much of a hassle to send back.

Smelled like a moldy wet, dusty dog@

I could tell. That this would be beautiful. But, mine arrived smelling moldy or of mildew. Smell and dust were soooooo bad, that I sneezed for 10 minutes nonstop over 15 times starting when I opened and rolled out the rug. I vacuumed it. but that just make me worse. I've been tested fot over 500 allergies, so this reaction was not due to an allergy. It was from the volume of mold and dust I'd inhaled. Must have come from a very damp warehouse! I hope I dont get covid19. Because my ribs already hurt terribly from the violent sneezing... I'd buy this rug, only if I had an ironclad guarantee, that it came from a temperature controlled warehouse! But, was so frustrated, that I ordered 2 smaller runners from Ruggables, that ARE WASHABLE!ill just put 2 together to replace this 20' runner. Less

I ordered one of these rugs for my study and we loved it. I then ordered a huge one for my living room. The pattern in the larger rug was much bigger than the smaller size. I then ordered one for my dining room. My husband liked them so much he had me order another hugh one for our bedroom. I entertain allot and my friends just love them also. So much so a couple of them ordered some very similar. They do shed but they are well worth the very reasonable price. Would order them again

Hi. I've had this rug for about eight years. I was torn between five and four stars, so I will explain. Upon receiving the rug I would have rated five stars, as the colors were as shown and it was thick and nice. After vacuuming the rug, I learned you must not have your vacuum too low or it can pull threads out of the rug so I may have subtracted half a star. After about year five all the threads were gone in the place where my dogs land when coming down the stairs at high speed. Now, I never had a really expensive rug, and since this one is in the affordable, not luxury, range, I'm not sure what the durability is supposed to be. I think if the threads were tighter together the rug would have held up. On the other hand my dogs are quite large, with the accompanying giant claws, so maybe this was an expected outcome for this level of rug. Since I'm not sure, and I wish the hole wasn't there because I can't afford another rug, I'm taking off half a star for that. So four stars total rating. Less

The rug itself is beautiful. I'm just having an issue with shedding. Maybe this is due to all the different colors in the rug? The rug needs to be vacuumed daily. After vacuuming, I literally have to clean my vacuum cleaner as well, as the fabric lint sticks to the bottom and back of my vacuum. It's almost like having short fine dog hair to deal with! If you have black socks on, it sticks. My grandson is playing on the floor all the time and his black jogging pants were a mess and I had to use a lint roller on them. It's been a week and it seems the shedding isn't getting better. Buyers need to beware of shedding! Adding additional information 3/21/19 - The shedding is not getting any better. I will be contacting someone in customer service to discuss. I'm ready to send this rug back. Adding a picture, this is the amount of shedding daily for the past week that I pull off the back of my vacuum cleaner when done vacuuming! Less

A rare disappointment in rug purchases on Overstock for me. The colors in this just don't work well in person-especially the burgundy edging, which read much brighter in person than on my computer screen. The rug reads very "busy" with how bright the colors actually are. It is, however, very plush and certainly comfy for a family room space. We made do for a while and it held up well. But when we decided to get a new sofa I decided to let go of the rug, too. Wasn't going to waste the look of a new sofa on coordinating with this rug.

I shopped for months trying to find the right rug for my long hallway. We have celery paint color on the wall. I finally decided to give this runner a try. It works beautifully. The colors work really well. I have not experienced any shedding or any issues with the runner. Delivery was quick and we are very pleased. If you were going to place in a living or dinning room it might be a tad busy. I not sure until I see it. Very pleased with this purchase!

Another fabulous rug success story! I've bought many rugs from O.co and have always been thrilled. Great prices. Great quality. Sometimes the colors are little surprise, this one for example has much more vibrant colors. I got the 10 by 14 and the squares are about 12-18 inches across. The burgundy, green and navy are prominent and are deep rich tones and the gold squares are rich but not in your face. On the monitor this looked more green/gold which I would have been ok with, but it is actually much more balanced. I knew the quality would be great as it always is, but I was starting from scratch color-wise so I took a chance and figured for the price I'd make it work. Very glad I did.

Although I love the look of this rug, and the design and colors are perfect, the workmanship leaves a lot to be desired. Shortly after I had written a glowing review, and just after it was too late to return it as defective, the defect began showing up! Tufts of wool came out all around the edges of the rug, and there was no fixing the problem. I did call Overstock and was given a customer service number to call at Safavieh. Those I spoke with at Overstock were helpful and sorry there wasn't anything they could do; the one I spoke to a Safavieh, not so much. The young man at Safavieh actually laughed at me when I explained the problem and said that's what I got for choosing a "low end" rug. Certainly not an acceptable customer service response in my book, so they've seen the last of me as a customer. I was able to find a magic marker in the same color as the border, so at least I have been able to disguise the problem somewhat, at least for the time being. The sad thing is, it really is a beautiful rug and I really do still love it! Less

Nice rug but different from the picture

Pros: It's a lovely rug, and very high quality. The shipping was incredibly fast.,,,,,,,Cons: The picture isn't an accurate representation. Part of the reason I got it was the complexity of the pattern, and the pattern on the actual rug is larger and less complex. The center part of of the design is 4 blocks wide on the 9'6" side, rather than the 6 blocks in the illustration, and its border is 5 blocks rather than 7.,,,,,,,,,,,The differences aren't enough to warrant the hassle of returning it, and it's a pretty rug, but I'm still a bit disappointed.

Great Value

This rug is beautiful and seems like a good quality for the price. I agree with other reviewers that the colors are more burgundy than the deep red I expected, but it still goes with the deep red accents in my living room. Also, I purchased a smaller rug to go in my entry and still match this rug that I put in my kitchen and the colors were the same. That was a concern for me with some of the reviews. I would have given it 5 stars, but when I vacuumed over it so much fluff came out of it. Granted it was the first time vacuuming it and when it sat in my empty dining room for a week before I put it under my kitchen table I didn't notice any extra dust or fluff around, but I might now that it is in a high traffic area. The price was still good, the rug is beautiful and it is such a higher quality than rugs I would have gotten in the stores around me.,,, Less

Arrives with embedded dirt

This rug is just horrible. I've had it 18 months and am looking to replace it already. It is still shedding wool fibers like crazy - it's like having another dog in the house. It appears to be made with an excess of glue, and when I turn up the edge there is a thick layer of dirt/dust/glue particles under the rug. I vacuum up the debris, but a month later it is back. I could take this outside and try to beat the debris out of it, or pay $*** to get is cleaned (no), or just replace it. I'm replacing it. I have no idea what kind of particles we have been breathing in the whole time we have owned this thing. The colors are not nearly as crisp on the real rug either.
