The rug arrived quickly in good condition. Appears well made and of a high quality. Unfortunately the rug emitted an unpleasant odor that lasted nearly two weeks. (Literature accompanying the rug indicted this is normal, but the smell lasted longer than I would have expected.) I purchased the "blue/green" rug, and the colors are very muted. The "green" is an olive shade that appears close to brown. The "blue" appears nearly gray. The colors work okay for my home decor, but potential buyers should be aware that the dominant impression is beige or dull gold, brown and gray.

Colors not as pictured

I ordered a second one of these Ivory/Blue runners as I really like the original one I had. But when the 2nd one arrived the colors were NOTHING like the colors of the one I already had...which is as shown in the photo here. Customer support was very responsive and kindly sent me another immediately but when that one arrived it was yet ANOTHER color. So I now have three mismatched rugs. The image shows from left to right the rugs in the order received. What I want is one that matches the one on the left. Very annoyed and disappointed in the Quality Control in managing inventory. I understand there can be variations but these are starkly different rugs.

Buyer beware. Although the price was fantastic and the quality seems good, the majority of this rug is green tinted gold. Very green. The only part that is really gold is the 10" border. The outside border and the entire center is green. And in the sunlight, it's neon. The "smoke" colored is more like a blue (which was fine with me). But the green is killing me. Tried changing the room lighting at night and found that dim lights and candles make it look much better. So I guess visitors can only come at night. I would return it except for prohibitive shipping costs.

A Classic Look

This rug has a nice deep pile that is quite comfortable on which to walk. I like wool, personally, for its durability. The red is a combination burgundy/brick, which can be accented with other colors used in draperies, etc... The sage background and the "yellowish" gold design are a bit more muted that I expected. However, as I add paint and upholstery to the walls, I'm actually glad they are a bit muted. That way the rug blends into the motif of the entire room. I am very pleased overall. Thanks Overstock for offering these good quality round rugs. BTW: I was delighted to see a rug of very similar colors on the floor of Sir Winston Churchill's residence, Chartwell, in the miniseries, Crown!

I tend to be a "nervous" internet shopper-but I'm a fairly courageous one. I had two major concerns about this item. One, would it be true to size? And it is, exactly 96 inches in diameter. Two, would that background color in the center area and on the periphery be a green hue, as shown, and not the dark gray/near black that appears in the pictures of the rectangular rugs in this rug family. And it is definitely a green hue. Beyond that, I was somewhat concerned that the overall visual impact of this rug might be too "lawdy-gaudy" for its intended environment. But, feeling a bit "lawdy-gaudy" myself these days, I decided to risk the hassle of doing a return to get a first-hand look.

Plush, cushy rug, but heavy

I'm enjoying this rug very much. That said, please know that the 8x10 foot rug is 69 lbs and takes two people to carry due to it's unwieldy size. I was able to get it up a flight of stairs by myself since it was delivered to the garage in my apartment complex, but I would not recommend this. It is virtually "impossible" to move it around on the floor due to the weight and the fact that it is sitting over very flat carpeting. Again, I was able to move it by myself, but it took a long time to do. I do love the rug. It's cushy and comfortable to walk on. Unfortunately my cat loves to sharpen her claws on it, but I don't think she will really hurt it for a long time since it's so full. Great muted colors that go with my greenish-gold sofa very well.

Love My New Rug!

I have been looking for a couple months for an area rug to go with my new sofa. I went back and forth looking at about eight different rugs and finally decided on this one in two sizes. The sofa is mostly red with some green, gold, and rust. It is so hard to see the colors by the pictures online. I absolutely love it, although it is a little different than I had hoped for. I wanted a darker sage or olive green and it is not that. It's fairly pail rug with a light sage as the primary color, then the dark red around the edge which is very bold and rich looking. There is a little gold which is also pretty light and some beige. It's very pretty and it is a nice contrast to the dark, vibrant sofa. Although it is different than I had expected, I love it all the same. It is totally different than the picture online, totally. You really have to look for the gold so it is not yellow looking like on the website. It laid flat immediately and had very little odor. I ordered the two rugs on Sunday evening and got the 5 X 8 on Thursday. I'll probably get the other one tonight. Thanks Overstock. I love your rugs. This is the second time I've ordered from them and I'm so pleased.

MUCH More Beautiful in Person!

I looked all over town for a quality, hand tufted wool or wool and cotton rug....I even went to the largest rug store in our city but could not find what I wanted. I found this rug on Overstock and decided to take a chance because the price was so much better than I was finding locally, and I thought the design would fit.
