It is a great concept for hot water for tea or coffee. Amazing unit. Easy to install but if you have a trash compacter, this unit will need its own electrical outlet box.
Very nice unit and easy to install (DIY). When heating, the unit is a little loud, but doesn’t take long to get used to the noise. There is a very slight delay with water coming out of the hot tap. All-in-all it is a very nice addition and is great to have instant hot water.
Cheap Product will leak and cause damage - see photos
I purchased one of these Insinkerator Hot Water Dispensers and installed Jan 2023. I even purchased a water filter because I read that will make the unit last longer. Less than two years later it was leaking and caused major damage to a brand new cabinet and a newly refinished hard wood floor. This item is either made of inferior materials or they have a major manufacturing issue (or both). They say a picture is worth 1,000 words - see the pictures I took right after I noticed the leak. Again, this unit is less than two years old and my wife used it to fill two cups of hot tea each morning. The metal tank is completely corroded (this picture is after the cheap plastic case was removed). Go ahead and buy this unit if you want something that looks like this.
Easy tea
Fairly easy to install. It’s been a year and still gives hot water whenever I need it. Not only is it perfect temp for Tea and instant ramen, but it make cleaning dishes so much easier. Fantastic I would always recommend.
Qualified thumbs up
Straight forward installation with existing inline filter. Seems to function well so far, but as you can tell from other reviews, durability for these units is not a strong suit. That said, our last unit lasted 10 years. Fingers crossed.

Hot water is not hot enough to dissolve my coffee even Max. The water spitting out from the spout a couple of times after each use. Need to make a bit bigger hole than 1-3/8" to tie the bottom of the plastic knot. Was not met the expectation.
Junk underneath the shiny surface.
For a very expensive faucet, the material is inadequate. Under the shiny finish is an easily corrodable metal, likely cast aluminum. The problem is that at the base where it attached, there are portions that are not coated. Being in a wet location, this results in corrosion, which eventually causes the handle to break off. I see others have the same problem. If it were a cheap fixture, I could tolerate replacing, but this is a cheaply made product for a premium price. Avoid.
Breaks often, expensive to fix/replace
I've had both the water tank and the faucet break. First the water tank died; customer service said it's quite common, and you can't buy just the heating element. A couple of months later, the hot water handle broke off, material fatigue. Even if you can find parts to buy separately, the prices are such that you might as well just buy a whole new kit. It's great to have while it works, but be prepared to shell out $100s (plus plumbers) every now and then.
Insinkerator Instant Hot Water Heater
The temp. range on this-per the manual is 160-210. All I was able to get out of it was 160 so I call the manufacturer and they sent a brand new tank. I installed that and that one will heat up to 170 and that's it. If the product is supposed to heat water up to 210 then I expect it to at least get close, which in my mind would be at least 200.
I replaced my old unit with this one and it does not swivel like advertised. I had plumber take out old one and replace with this one. It still heats water great but I was disappointed description was wrong. Plumber cost enough so I did not want to replace unit and have them come back. I’m stuck with unit that want swivel.
Poor customer service
Had a professional plumber install the new unit brought from Build.com on advise from the plumber. After installing it leaked in two places. Called Build.com to see if they would send a replacement unit, but was told not their policy and I would have to contact Insinkerator. When I contacted Insinkerator they told me they would send a contracted plumber to come out to look at it. I told them I wanted to use my own plumber but they told me NO!!
[Rewarded Review] InSinkErator HC-Wave-SS Instant Hot Water Dispenser, Double Handle Hot and Cold
Not bad to connect. I had to carefully Dremel belt sand Corian countertop hole for the dispenser faucet, which is quite large. I plumbed a extra soldiered tee, 3/8” F.I.P x1/4” compression angle stop valve, because I hate piercing valves. They get clogged up over time, and leak.
Only heats to 185 degrees
Worked great for a few months; measured temp at 206-210 degrees when installed. I had to creep the temp up to max to get near 200 degree temp after a few months. Soon afterwards the max temp is in the 180's. Customer service provided a number to call for "Free" in home warranty service. When I called, the actual cost of the service call is $99 which according to the service company may or may not be reimbursed by Insinkerator. Sounds like a scam. I spent a bundle on the filter system and the instant hot system. It should work longer than a few months and I should not see a $100 charge for"Free" service.

My Insinkerator Wave is now 4 yrs, 4 months old now. First time with this model. I’ve owned my home for 28 years now and have always had some sort of insinkerator hot water model. Most of them have lasted only 2-3 years before heater failure, heater leaking, or dispenser leak/failure. So far, ( knock on wood ) this one is still going strong. We use it daily for tea/coffee ( hot side ),....drinking water, people and pet ( cold side ).

I can finally get rid off that loud electric water heater kettle. We drink a ton of tea throughout the day and that kettle is constantly going. With the InSinkErator instant hot water dispenser we don't need to wait any longer. Temperature adjustments are easy. The push lever is sturdy and snaps right back after use. I let the water run for 5 seconds until I see steam and then use it. Note to new installations: RTFM and run water through the system to clear it out before first use. My first cup tasted a little funky, but the system needs to get purged and cleaned. Now water tastes fine. Also - no additional power cord needed, it's attached. Don't listen to the "customers also bought" home essentials direct pitch.

We have now had our instant hot water dispenser for almost exactly a year. We love it!! We use it daily for french press coffee, oatmeal and tea. It's absolutely wonderful having HOT water at the touch of a handle. Installation was kind of difficult do to lack of space and the tube that goes from the water source to the unit being short. If that tube had been longer it would have made things a bit easier. Knowing this though... I would still purchase it again. My fingers are crossed it holds up for a couple more years due to how expensive they are.

This is a well-made set that does what it promises. Be aware that the tank units don't last forever -- they start leaking, typically. That's OK; we're on our third one. It's just so nice to have instant hot water. But there are quibbles. The instruction sheets need proofreading, e.g. "smaller than 1-1/2" should read "larger than 1-1/2". Also, a 1/4" compression fitting is required and is NOT included. Also, the copper line for cold water input is more than a foot shorter than was fitted in the past, so you may well need an extension hose to reach your supply valve, as I did. Finally, $330 is not exactly a bargain. I'm glad we bought it but we'd have done it a lot sooner if it was in the $279 or $285 range. Once you get past all that, the thing works like magic. And the new model seems quieter than the older one, too.

InSinkErator H-WaveSN-SS Involve Wave Instant Hot Water Dispenser System The product works as expected but I have a few caveats for those considering buying it: 1) It is LOUD. About every hour or so the unit heats up the water and I can hear it across the room, even though it is under my sink with the cabinet doors closed. It sounds a bit like a truck driving by the house a block away. The manufacturer says to lower the temperature, however mine is only putting out about 160 degree water now. If I lower it any more, what's the point??? 2) The faucet does not immediately stop when you release the handle - it continues to dribble for a second or two. Be careful because you don't want to dribble 200 degree water on your hand! 3) Installation was pretty easy, however the lines from the faucet are about 16 inches long and cannot be extended. This can severely limit placement under your sink. Not everyone has a completely open, empty space like the manufacturer shows in every picture and drawing. Since my sink is in an island, I have a disposer and a drain vent so I had to remove both before installing the unit. 4) The mounting hole must be 1-1/2 inches in diameter - NOT 1-1/4. I had to use a hand file and then a grinding wheel for my drill to expand the hole in my granite counter - not fun! Other than that I am still glad I have it. If anyone can suggest ways to mitigate the noise, please respond!

Perfect! The factory set hot water temp is perfect for several cups of hot water. We no longer have to wait for our Kuerig to warm water for tea or instant coffee. Of course, nothing beats fresh brew. We added the filter and no new have filtered cold (tap water temperature) and hot water. Moreover, the flow rate is decent...it’s much faster than the fridge but doesn’t match the faucet.

Having hot/cold water is great. Not happy with the spout/handle design, our original was better and is now seemingly almost impossible to get…. Insinkerator was brilliant in their marketing off the more desirable spouts separately for $300 +. If there was a different brand with better spout I would
