Wow! Super Warm!
I got two of these. I put them in my backyard studio. They are warmer than my gas heaters and don’t give me a headache. My space is smaller. If you had a large space maybe get 4 of them. One for each wall?
Easy to Install; Warms up the Garage
This is a nice and lightweight unit that was easy to install from the box. It comes with all the necessary mounting hardware, and was easy to attach to the garage ceiling. I appreciate the instructions and the extended cord to provide some flexibility on where to install. Once plugged in, the tube heats up rather quickly and provide radiant heat that gently warms up the surrounding area. Helps warm up the garage on those chilly winter days!
Efficient Heat
Comfortable heat has costs. Yet, there is nothing quicker, more efficient and valuable than infrared heat. Infrared heat is definitely a heat source with many uses. The OTR 1500 Watt Infrared Space Heater is perfect for a covered work space, gazebo or a garage because, like the sun shining through a window that envelops your whole body, only you and other mass absorbs the heat like a sponge. It does not heat the air which does not waste money. Infrared heat is perfect in power outages and a generator is your only source of electricity.
Nice little outdoor/garage space heater. We installed 2 on our front porch which we enclosed with a heavy duty 30 mil clear plastic. We like to sit out there in the winter and watch football games. These 2 heaters take the chill out of the air especially with the plastic as a wind break. They heat up fast and we are happy with them. We still wear jackets on the porch, but it is comfortable enough to watch an entire game without being cold even in 20-degree weather at night.
Using this heater in my gazebo. Puts out decent heat. Not very big in size, about 24” long. Surprised it does not come with an on/off switch. I installed a switched outlet to control it. 8’ power cord is nice.
Saved my pipes and sanity this winter
These little units are life savers. We had a cold weather emergency and had to rely on heat produced by a few of these units. My only complaint is no on-off switch. I bought a Wi/fi plug and that works well.
Saved the day!
Was perfect for unfreezing my pipes under my manufactured home. Low profile with lots of heat! Moved it every 30 minutes down the length of pipe and monitored the under side of house. Was able to get them working and bought enough time for plumber to come out the next day to replace the heat tape on the pipes.

Seems to work well so far. My chief complaint is the lack of an on/off switch. We mounted this to our ceiling (as most would) and didn’t realize there was no on/off switch at all. The only way to turn it on and off is by plugging/unplugging. So we had to buy a smart plug to use with our phones to be able to turn it on and off. If a simple switch or Bluetooth compatibility with an app could be added, that would help this heater immensely.
Little heater with little expectations
The heater is quite small and light and I didn't have high expectations of it. I installed it in my garage just over my squat rack where most of my exercises occur. It works very well when within 6 ft and no wind. I have it hooked up to a smart plug since it doesn't have a remote so that I can turn it on and off using my phone or voice. I wouldn't expect this thing to work well outside unless you're within a couple of feet from it. Recommended for garage and not outdoors.
Paid more for less
Unfortunately, this is a prime example of why reviews on products read on the internet just arnt worth a damn. Rated high, but wont work at all after just 2 months! I never moved, dropped, damaged, or even jostled the unit. It has less than 150 hours of use and will not turn on at all. Never had a drop of moisture of any kind near this OUTDOOR, WATERPROOF (written right on the unit)) that was and is placed in my garage in Las Vegas where we have hod NO rain whatsoever in months and months now. I actually could of purchased many other heaters but Home Depot's ONLY unit that isn't made in China was this unit which was $25 more than any other unit they carry, and there is a lot of different space heaters that they carry. I, being a "Buy American" guy, spent more, and in this case got less. I am ******.. My family has had no get together's all year cuz of friggin COVID-19, and TODAY my son than I haven't seen in over a year flew into to visit dad and hang out with dad in his mancave garage, only to be too chilly now to do so cus the heater, that worked fine last night wont turn on at all? I checked everything, and since I am not permitted to open the unit up to see if its a fuse or switch (warranty void if I do) I am not able to heat my garage man cave and I am one salty guy because of this. All I can say is I sure hope that Heat Storm makes this right tomorrow when I contact them. I am a FAIR reviewer. If they do me right I will say that if they dont, same thing! Stay Tuned.....

this unit I mounted on a tripod and placed near a dining table on our patio. It makes no noise as it is a radiant heat unit. There is no fan motion, just radiant heat which travels about 4 to 5 feet away from the heater. Our guests were comfortable all through dinner and stayed warm. It only has one speed so it has a simple on/off button...Its electric, so with a 1500 watt bulb you will want to plug it into a wall outlet that has nothing else on it...if not, it will trip your breaker. Really like this, we bought a second one after using the first one.
On / Off switch
The only thing this heater is missing is a switch to turn it on / off as its not ideal to have to plug and unplug the cord for each use. I went out and bought a Plug In Switch that enables the unit to be plugged in at all times and you can toggle the power on / off when its required. Its made by Levinton Model # 1470-742 ( 15 amps 125 volts ) The heater is light weight and easy to install, the cord could be a little longer but the unit works very well. Being 1500 watts - its gives off a good amount of heat but will blow your breaker if another appliance is plugged in - best to have a dedicated line. This is my 2nd Tradesman and when compared to the rest, its one of the best in the market. Try out the switch - it makes a huge deference. Thanks for reading.

Easy to install, easy to use, but the heat is a little too weak for true *outdoor* use. I put it on my patio so I could stand out to watch my dog and do light outdoor work on the patio like potting plants, starting seeds, and the like. On the day I installed it, by the time I plugged it in, it was about 35 degrees with almost no wind. It shook the chill off if I stood directly underneath it, but not much more. It might work better in an enclosed space like a shed, where the heat can "build" a little.
