The two pieces (top and bottom part of the bench) that must be put together do not line up properly. We put in the 9 screws, saw the lineup was off, took screws back out and tried to align pieces again before putting screws back, but it didn't help.

This bench is awesome. I get so many compliments on it.

Looks great, was more of a blue color though instead of green

Beautifully crafted bench! It was very easy to put the two pieces together, all it took was 9 bolts and the allen wrench that came in the package with the bolts. It arrived on time and in perfect conditon.

The style is great and it looks amazing in our entry way. The color is a little dark and not as much variation as shown in the picture. However, it is well made and definitely worth five stars.

Do NOT order this cheaply built chair

The chair was easy to assemble. But..its a very cheaply made chair. The wood is NOT solid wood. The back decorative panel is so thin that it arrived warped and I only recognized it after putting the chair together and I'm definitely not going to take it apart and send it back. It's just an EXTREMELY cheap piece of junk for a very expensive price tag. I'm ashamed I bought it.

Looks beautiful in our foyer. Many complements from our guests. Very happy.

Terrific piece. Highly recommend it. Only issue was it came with 1 less bolt than required for assembly.

It's very nice, but I was expecting it to look more like the one advertised. It's a lot darker with not much variation in the stain.

The bench is beautiful, just what I had hoped it would look like. It is a little darker than shown on-line, but I prefer it that way, and I cannot think of a negative thing to say about it!

Had to have this bench

I fell in love with this bench almost 20 years ago but couldn't afford it. I ran across the picture I had saved from the catalog and couldn't believe it was still available. The bench, although not as heavy as it looks, is good quality construction, substantial not flimsy at all. The finish is very nice. The back is finished so you could put it in the middle of a room. Two things to note: the back curves a bit so it will sit off the wall about 2 inches, and the color of the stain is darker than the online photo shows. It appears to be a medium golden brown in the photo but in reality it is dark brown. It was well wrapped and padded for shipping.

one solid and beautiful bench

I received this monk's bench today. It looks like it has been hand carved with deep designs on mahogany wood. It goes perfect in the breakfast room and compliments the medieval re-styling throughout the house. Beautiful and solid, even the seat. It sits well. I never thought I'd enjoy so much styling the house with medieval and Gothic themes. Wish I had done it sooner. I had scouted around in many places for a find like this and found some of the same style at much higher prices. Very pleased! Can't wait to get the York Gothic monk's bench. Bring it on Toscano. You amaze me.
