Beautiful classic piece!

We all love how it looks! It came well protected in the box. There was one little plastic foot missing, though. My husband had to go get it at the hardware store, so not to scratch the wooden floor. It looks great!

Pay no attention to the one negative review of this item...this item is FABULOUS!!!! I have been wanting this and looking at in online for years now, and I finally own one and it sits right in my entry way. Hardly a guest comes in to our home that isnt WOWED right off the bet with this beautiful piece sitting right in the entry way. GORGEOUS and WELL WORTH THE $$$!!! This is not a cheaply made piece of furniture, it is very heavy and very solid and Im sure my family will be fighting over who get this when Im gone! Thanks again Design Toscano for making my home a showplace!

Unacceptable

This piece looks good in photos but in real life it's just really cheap. The panels are all loose and there's as they wiggle around you can see where they are not stained. The top looks like it was molded out of putty. The wood is beat up and the stain has lots of obvious touch ups. The worst part is that the seat is too high to actually sit on - it's higher than a chair seat should be.

LOVE IT-Worth the wait

I ordered this item and it was on backorder for months...finally, I cancelled the order...but then reordered it as even if it took me a year to get it, I WANTED IT, lol! Well, I got it, I LOVE IT, and it is the perfect complement to my hallway. I also bought the Nunsmore Armour which you can see above the bench.

a real find for the unique and unusual

I have got to quit loving furniture. After all it is just furniture. But every time I look at this York Monastery Bench I start smiling. Toscano has got to quit finding these incredible items and making them available to me. this is one beautiful bench. The detailed carving is worth admiring. It became much darker in color when I polished it with a beeswax/non-petro polish that I read was recommended for fine furniture. It now matches the other monastery bench I have from Toscano made from maghogany. All goes well with my Lord Raffles collection.

Exceeded our expectations - very pleased!

We recently purchased a pair of these benches and were pleasantly pleased by how quickly they arrived, and the overall quality. They are heavy and study, and also quite comfortable - although if we sit all the way back on the nicely deep seat, our feet don't quite reach the floor! This gives us the excuse to shop for footstools, though, and we've found two that you carry that we think would be pretty great in combination with the benches. We really appreciate ALL the many items we have purchased from Design Toscano, and always look forward to seeing what wonderful quirky items we will find in your ctaalog - or on your website - next. Very nice piece, glad I bought it!

I needed a piece to compliment the high ceilings in our large foyer and this piece is perfect! I have other Toscano pieces so I knew it would be a quality, durable piece!
