I love this headboard. It looks great and I love the color. I need my husband to drill into the wall for it to stay since we have an adjustable bed. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a headboard.

This is a heavy, quality, sturdy, well-made piece of furniture. It looks more like something you would see in a furniture showroom than something shipped that you have to put together! Very pleasantly surprised. I do want to mention that the nuts and bolts to attach this to a bed frame WERE NOT included, so you will need to run by the hardware store for those. They were not missing - just not on the packing list at all. No biggie; just wanted to mention. Also, this was shipped in two separate boxes due to the weight (fortunately, FedEx delivered them both at the same time! LOL).

Beautiful and well priced

Came in 2 shipments, well packaged and undamaged. This bed is beautiful. The style and color match my existing dresser very well. It does take 2 people to put together. Directions are easy to understand and extra hardware is supplied. The only weird part of the assembly is the last 4 screws, used on the stringer must be screwed in the opposite direction from normal (left to tighten and right to loosen) which took us a bit to discover.

A Wary Buyer

I have two issues with this headboard. First, it was damaged in delivery because the packaging was inadequate. The top left hand corner was crushed, but because there is a top piece that fits over the area that was damaged, and because it would be a hassle to return it, given its size and weight, we decided not to return it. The other issue is that we ordered a California King size, but the boxes are marked just King. Measuring the headboard against what we needed for our bed, we determined we could use it notwithstanding the labeling so, again, decided to keep, it rather than return it. Other than those two issues, the headboard Is attractive and looks well made.

Nice - but not perfect

The headboard is very nice, and came packaged very neatly in pieces to be assembled. The assembly took me about 90 min and was fairly straightforward. However, after I had it all unpacked, I discovered a chip in the main panel at the bottom edge facing the bed. It was going to be too cumbersome to repackage and way too much effort to send back, so we are stuck with a really nice headboard with a chip in the bottom edge. The headboard looks really nice when installed. Please note that it stands approx 3 to 4 inches away from our mattress, so there is a gap between the mattress and the board, large enough for our pillows to slip off between and down to the floor. So if you are looking for a headboard that will fit tight to the mattress, this isn't it. At least for our bed frame which is a movable base with a tempurapetic mattress.

This is a beautiful headboard and Overstock was great. It has more of a solid cherry finish than pictured, but that is what we wanted. It was delivered quickly and easy to assemble, You just need 4 (four) 5/15 bolts, washers and nuts. The posts are 3" thick so I used 3 1/2 length. You'll have enough room to screw on the nuts with no excess bolt sticking out (getting in the way of your box springs). We've had it 3 days and it sets the room off nicely. The quality is good and we would recommend it to anyone. The price was right too.If you want a cherry headboard with a nice top piece, you've found it.

Nice

Very nice. Heavy and sturdy. Did not have to drill holes into the legs because we mounted it to the wall. Used 4 inch countersunk dry wall screws to attach a 2x4 horizontally to wall. Then used 1.5 inch countersunk dry wall screws to attach a 1x6 board ripped to actual dimensions: 3/4"x4" to 2x4 so that the bottom edge was flush. Since a 2x4 is actually 1.5"x3 1/2", the ripped 1x4 extended 1/2" above the 2x4 to create a lip. Then ripped another 1x4 to actual dimension of 3/4"x2" and mounted it to head board back near the top so that it extended downward about 3/4". This created a "pocket " space so that the headboard could be lifted onto the previously-attached wall supports. Placed the wall boards at a height so that the headboard "floated " above the carpet. To finish project, we cut a 2x2 (actual size 1.5x1.5) into four 4" long pieces. Mounted two of these vertically to studs so that the top edges were at the same height as the lower horizontal support on the headboard (used a small level). Then mounted the other two 2x2s at same level on the bottom headboard brace just opposite the wall mounted ones. Then held headboard vertical with a level (still "hanging" on wall) and measured distance from wall to back of horizontal brace on headboard. Then cut two pieces of the previously ripped 3/4x4" (actual demensions) using this measurement. Last step was to attach these boards to the 2x2s with dry wall screws. Headboard is rock solid. We could do pull ups on it. If you decide to duplicate this, make sure you decide exactly where you want the headboard to be on the wall (from side to side that is) before mounting the 2x4. It will be long enough to cross 3 to 4 studs. Make sure you attach it into the studs.

Assembly Definitely Required

This headboard came in several pieces with plenty of hardware (except the bolts to attach to a metal bed frame). It went together quite well until the last piece, that pretty top piece called the "crown." It required 8 cam lock screws, one in each end, 6 at various intervals through the middle. These screws were to fit down into pre-drilled holes in the headboard, itself, then lock the crown on with cam locks. The end holes lined up fine, the 6 middle holes were all about a half inch to the left off, making it impossible to attach with these screws inserted. Fortunately, the crown was solid enough with just the two end screws locked on. I gave it a "good" rating because of this, but I really like it, and didn't want to take a chance on trying to exchange it. The completed headboard is beautiful.

Decent for cost not as thrilled as other reviewers

I have a nice reddish cherry bedroom set, and some time ago I went from a queen bed to a king, so I had to quit using the head and footboards that came with the set. I've looked at wood and padded headboards to add to my kind bed and had a hard time finding something I liked. I could tell from the photos this would be darker than my set but I was OK with that. These photos are accurate for color so I am satisfied. Where I am less impressed than other reviewers was that my item arrived damaged. The damage is small. It's not worth trying to return/exchange such a large item, but given that I saw no package shipment and we were careful to open the item carefully, I was a little disappointed. To see samples of the damage in wood and finish, look here: www.imgur.com/a/2usvK/embed This item was fairly easy to assemble. My boyfriend put it together for us in a few minutes. We had to go to Lowe's to get 4 large screws and nuts to attach to our existing bed frame. There are two different sets of holes on the legs to fit two different styles of headboard. This worked on our Tempurpedic king frame.

Amazing value!

So pleased with my purchase! Ordered it Tuesday and it arrived Thursday. Free shipping on something so heavy is a great deal! We looked at many furniture stores and it is surprisingly difficult to find just a headboard without getting a whole set with footboard and rails, which we did not need. The couple we did find were twice the money as this and were going to take 6-8 weeks to arrive. This was my first Overstock purchase, and I have never purchased something like this without seeing in person first. I was so pleasantly surprised at the quality of this item! Real wood, very solid, beautiful color. I put it together myself with no trouble. Just needed a few bolts to attach it to our frame from the hardware store, and we were in business. I felt a little sorry for the UPS man having to bring it to the door himself, but other than that no regrets!! Thanks, Overstock!
