Beautiful but smells like Petroleum

As soon as I opened the box the whole whose smelled like petroleum. I assembled and wiped down the whole thing and had to put it in the garage to offgas. It’s been a day and the whole garage smells like fumes. I’m going to take outside to sit in the sun and hope it airs out before company comes.

Beautiful headboard

Very simple but modern headboard. It took my husband and I. It took an hour but that's only because we mounted to headboard to the wall vs bed frame. Definitely not a cheap headboard. Worth the dinero.

Sturdy and strong

Love it! Arrived in perfect condition. Easy to assemble and purchased a bed frame as well to complete. No squeaks ! I love it! Love the detail in headboard.

Great Piece

Love this headboard. We have high ceilings and it feels very proportional without crowding our room. Of course black furniture shows dust quicker!

Very happy wth this purchase. Amazing quality for small cost. We went to HD and purchased lag bolts etc as soon as order placed. Picked up at store n assembled in 30 mins. No scuff or scratch marks. Very pleased.

Not very sturdy and poor installation instructions

It was well packed and looks nice one it is put together. I attached it to an adjustable bed frame. There are no screws enclosed to attach it and it takes a certain type of screw. There is no mention at all in the sparse instructions on what type of screw to use. Through trial and error I finally found some at Lowes. Even attached the headboard is still flimsy. I had to push it up flush with the wall so it won't move. You certainly would not be able to lean up against it like you can with a traditional headboard. For a spare room that is seldom used I would say this is fine. But for a bed that is used daily I would not reccomend it. I would have returned it but there was no way in the world that I would have been able to repack the pieces into the carton which they were shipped in. I will stick with local furniture stores from on when looking for items such as this.

Horrible to put together, but nice in the end

We had just finished putting together our new platform bed frame when we moved on to this headboard. While assembly isn't complicated, it's ridiculously and unnecessarily tedious (our bed frame had this cool ratcheting Allen wrench which made everything easy and fast). The hex wrench (think Allen wrench with a different shape) is shaped like an Allen wrench so it's constant inserting, turning half way, insert, turn - with some LONG screws - and trying to get the wrench in the hole the correct way every time. I finally grabbed my fancy ratcheting screwdriver to see if I had a bit that would work. Thank goodness I did and it probably cut my time in half. Which is good because I was about 5 minutes from giving up and returning the headboard. Whoever designed that system should be smacked. Side note - there is a hex wrench that appears to work as a bit for a drill or powered screwdriver - that might work but I'd be really worried about splitting the wood. There is a warning in the instructions about power tools - heads up. That said, the headboard is beautiful. I bought brackets to attach it to the new bed frame because another reviewer said there were no brackets. If you buy a bracket set, check if the screws are long enough - the legs on the headboard are pretty thick and may require longer screws. It looks nice, matches my furniture and is a quality piece. Oh - and it was well packed. Which is huge! A competitor to Overstock has crummy packaging for shipping and I've returned a lot of damaged items. This was in great shape.

Great value for the money

I would definitely recommend this headboard. Easy to assemble and looks great with my black decor and furnishings. The ONLY downside was no hardware was provided to attach to my existing platform bed metal frame.
