Great thermostat. It replaces another Honeywell that I have had for about 15 years. Wanted another just like it and this one almost is. Easy to install and program. Working just fine.

Difficult to adjust timer schedule, even using the manual. My almost 30 year old honeywell was much easier and more obvious how to do it.

Easy to program thermostat

It is easy to set up. I did watch a video on how to set up the advance settings. All you need to do is press the program button and then press the fan button and hold for 5 seconds then just follow the book or there is a video in the support page, just enter the model number.

What a nightmare

Bought for my mother’s house and had it professionally installed. I recently programmed it for 4 different settings during the day, both heat & cool, and it won’t work accordingly. It won’t switch to cooling when it gets to the temperature setting or even register the correct temperature inside! This is the 3rd thermostat she’s replaced her original thermostat with and it’s getting expensive to keep replacing them!! *She initially didn’t want it programmed for different time settings and said she would adjust it herself manually when needed. It hasn’t worked out well for her because it defaults to 62 degrees eventually.

Themostat

I purchased this in the summer and it worked well, but when I turned on the heated furnance it did not work at all. Honeywell troubleshooter the thermostat with and said it was my furnace. My furnace guy came out checked the furnace and said the thermostat is defective. It wasn't the furnance. I returned it to get my money back.

Worked great - until it didn't.

Purchased a year ago. Worked perfectly. Recently the screen went blank and would not work. After removing it from the holder, it did not respond to any touch. When I shook it, it lit up again. Replaced it on the wall and it worked for another week until the same thing happened. Called customer service and they offered to replace it with a similar model that is not a touchscreen. I accepted although it's not fair I actually paid more for the replacement.

Robust features, easy installation and setup.

Honeywell has been an industry leader in household thermostats for decades, so when I accidentally broke my old Honeywell thermostat, which had functioned flawlessly for almost a decade, I knew another Honeywell was in order. Installation was a breeze: Two screws to mount it to the wall, four wires to connect, snap the front of the thermostat into place, and it was ready to program. Even though the new thermostat is a different model, the screw holes on the back plate were spaced the same, so I didn't even have to drill any new holes. This particular thermostat has a touch screen, instead of physical buttons and switches, but the interface is still surprisingly similar to the previous one, making it very intuitive to set up.

Very good thermostat: large digits, good touch screen response, ability to individually program each day of the week. The only thing that drove me crazy first several days - system started heating cycle long time (1-2 hours) before programmed time. I almost return unit as defective until I figured out that this is another "Smart" feature from manufacturer that supposed to be turned off by default and only activated by request. As soon as I disabled Smart Response® Technology, all started to work nicely.

A 7-day programable T-stat that thinks it’s a 5-1-1.

Seven-day programming is possible, but this model defaults to 5-1-1. Seven separate days is a challenge.

RTH7600D1030

Purchased 2 units June 2021. Went to start up the 2022 fall heating season and displays both blank. Replace batteries, one unit lit up intermittently and finally was reinstalled but seems tempermental. Other unit will not light up. Tried several sets of new batteries and checked battery voltage with meter.

Worked great, until it didn't

Our house had this thermostat when we moved in. It always worked great...until it didn't. We woke up one morning and the device had switched to Schedule. When we attempted to turn off the schedule, the menu button no longer worked (neither did the up arrow). After chatting with support, the official Honeywell answer was "well, sometimes things stop working. You'll need to replace it"

Terrible reliability, failing after 1 month

Bought on Amazon. Worked great until return window expired. Now fan control function doesn't work. HVAC pro with multi meter, new batteries, and confirmed fault is internal to thermostat. Do not purchase this product

Had to spend 1 hour filing a screwdriver to fit VERY NONSTANDARD wire gripping SCREWS. 2 Screws that had jumper were over tightened. Probably by a machine. I have never seen a screw of this diameter with such a wide slot. Aggravated by narrow width of countersink. Must modify a small screwdriver. A jeweler's screwdriver can not be made wide enough for these wide slots. But this saved me having to return, or risk damaging screw.

Could not budge terminal screws on the "red" jump terminals! and had to return it. Not sure why you tighten terminal screws that you need a watch battery size screw driver on but I guess Honeywell quality control must.

Buying our second one

We bought this about 11 years ago are buying a new one because our old needs replacing. It was really easy to install - we had an old school thermostat and I had no idea what I was doing and I managed to replace it easily enough. You do need to read the instructions to program it - it's not hard, but it's also not 100% intuitive. We've been very happy with it. Now that we work from home, the programmable features seem less important. I actually don't like the feature that tries to get the room to your desired temperature by the time you specify, I would prefer just to be able to tell the unit when to start/end, but I guess I'm in the minority on this one.
