We purchased from Barehome because we had a set of supposedly 100% linen sheets which we enjoyed! After we got this duvet cover which came in a nice tote bag, wrapped up professionally VS our sheets which came In a filthy plastic bag wrapped in tape, we were impressed! The tag actually indicates Barehome 100% linen unlike the sheets and also feels like it. We love the feel and look and are completely satisfied with it! The only change we would suggest is a zippered option! The buttons are stylish and nice and hold the duvet cover together, but our previous cover had a zipper and we loved that! Just saying!Hope this helps!

I bought the queen size duvet cover in Indigo. The color is bluer than I expected based on the photo but it's OK. The drape and texture of the fabric are very good -- it's soft and lightweight. I'm taking points off for these reasons:- the pillowcase does not fit a queen-sized pillow- the fabric is very linty. I washed and dried it twice before using it and it released lots of lint (see photo). When I turned it inside out to put the comforter in it, it was clear that I should have washed and dried it inside out a couple of more times because there was lint inside, too.

Disappointing. Not quite the right size.

The duvet doesn't stay in place. Probably because this duvet cover doesn't seem quite the right size. If you thought the duvet cover buttons were a nice touch...sorry, you either have to hide the openings or you can see your duvet through the gaps. SADNESS It is nice to the touch after a few washes and the color is very pleasant.

I've purchased 3 other linen duvets from other companies, and returned 2 of them. The one I kept was 3x the price of this one, and I like this one just as much! I'm super-picky about fabrics and textures, and finding a linen I like has been a challenge... somewhat heavy/substantial, enough texture to read - visually - as linen (and not just wrinkly cotton), and breathable. This one fits the bill, and I can't get over how affordable it is! I'm ordering another one in the same color, and looking forward to new colors coming out.

From the presentation of getting a canvas bag with your bedding in it to the feel of the 100% linen fabric, this is a great duvet cover set. The duvet cover measures 90” x 90” and the two standard-sized pillow shams are 20” x 26”. The linen is soft and not too thin. I love the detailing of the wooden buttons that close the duvet up, and the ties inside are very convenient. This solid duvet set is thoughtfully designed from a material standpoint down to the detailing of the cover and pillowcases. I became such a fan, I also bought a cotton version in a different color. Recommended.

When I first got these and opened them up, I was worried that they would be rough on my skin. I've never had a linen duvet cover so I didn't really know what to expect. I was so wrong, these are great. They feel very well made and soft. They feel even more expensive than they are, well to me they feel that way. I found that after washing them, they got even softer and more lovely. They are very very warm so, I'm going to save these for the wintertime. I'm eager to cuddle underneath them and pretend I'm in a rich person's house because they feel like a luxury to me. They are kinda pricey but I think they are fully worth it and I'm looking forward to trying out more linen bed products in the future.

I'm new to Vine and I really needed a new duvet cover. I love linen and decided to give Bare Home a try. Please note that I've worked in textiles for over 20 years, over half of those in home textiles. THE SOFTNESS OF THIS LINEN IS AMAZING!! Before washing I was impressed, and after washing, it had a softness that is almost like it is brushed. It feels incredible against your skin. I'm even using the pillow shams to sleep on and I'm very picky. The photos show after washing and sleeping to see it for real (it is not filled because I use an empty duvet as a bedspread during the summer). There are real wood/shell buttons for closures. I even have a photo comparing the Bare Home charcoal linen to a very expensive Belgian linen. You can see it is quality!

Real linen!I have been living in linen for about 30 years. Most of what I wear comes from a small designer who gets her linen in Lithuania. My experience buying elsewhere has not been good. Most of it is a linen blend, and some has no linen at all. This, however, looks, feels and behaves like linen. In one of the pictures I posted I put one of my favorite European linen shirts on the bed and cropped a swatch to compare. While they are not identical (mostly the weave) they are very close in weight, feel....When I washed it before use, there was a ton of fluff in the dryer. I actually thought it was a lot, a LOT! but then I put my older linen cover in the wash, and it produced just about the same amount of fluff. Not all linen is machine washable and dryable. This is. I know because I did machine wash and dry it (on delicate, and cool/ warm). However, the linen clothing I buy can all be machine washed and dried. What makes a difference is whether or not the material was washed and dried/ pre-shrunk before it was made. The description said it could be machine washed, so I did, and it came through fine. I had no trouble fitting it on a Queen size duvet. On another listing I just read someone questioned whether something was linen because it was not scratchy and uncomfortable. I am guessing that she never bought good quality linen. None of what I have is scratchy, or uncomfortable. It is true that it gets softer as it is washed, and it holds up very well, lasts a long long time. That clothing company I mentioned, I have a few dresses which are 30 years old, still look good, not shabby, worn..... It is one of the reasons I love linen, but the main reason I buy it is how well it controls temperature: keeps you cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter (There are summer and winter weight linens. I have some ranging from "handkercheif" weight to something comparable to a light wool coat. I live in Hawaii, so the latter does not get much use.... but even the very fine linen has held up for years. My only issue with this is that I am going to get terribly spoiled and not be able to go back to cotton (which is, itself, hard enough to find). Yes, it is very comfortable. It is also well made:corner ties (about 3 inches, very usable)Button closure. Much easier to repair than a broken zipper, and this could be an heirloom. If you have been wanting one, can afford it, go ahead and treat yourself. This is a very good price for linen, and you will not often find anything this size made of 100% linen. (Honestly, I do not say this often. I have written my share of 1 and 2 star reviews).

I am a big fan of linen in general and consider myself a bit of a connoisseur at this point! This is a really nice quality linen duvet cover set from Bare Home. I selected the "Natural" color and it's a beautiful neutral that really showcases the natural qualities of the linen. The color is true to the description photos. This duvet cover has a wonderful broken-in feel without the initial stiffness that linen can sometimes have - it's very soft. It is lightweight, making it ideal for the warmer months. This set feels great to sleep on and looks great on my bed too with a wonderful drape. Linen tends to wrinkle and gives a very casual feel, it fits well with my rustic/southwestern decor. I ordered the "King/California King" size and it fits my King size down comforter well - not too big or too small. The button envelope closure keeps everything together and the faux coconut buttons add to the naturalistic look - although I wish they weren't faux! The corner ties are helpful for keeping the comforter from shifting. The pillow cases are equally nice and are envelope style. I do appreciate that this set came in a tote bag - great for keeping my linen closet organized. I washed this duvet cover set before using it on my bed and it laundered well - no loose threads. I anticipate this set holding up well for years to come.

This cover provides exactly what I needed: a breathable yet heavy alternative to my flat sheet. I have terrible hot flashes at night I need something breathable to sleep with. Regular sheets are too lightweight, considering that I sleep with multiple fans which causes flat sheets to flutter over my body preventing me from staying in a deep sleep. Although this cover is originally intended as a duvet cover, it is the perfect heavy weight breathable sheet. I was afraid that because of the linen fabric it would be rough on my skin, however it is soft and not scratchy. Also the material is a tight weave, unlike other linen products that are a loose weave and see-through. I highly recommend this cover and will get more of them in the future.

Nice linen set with some good features. I ordered this specifically because of the ties to keep the duvet in place inside the cover. And that feature is fantastic and makes this much more usable and low maintenance than other duvet covers I have. This is especially important when you get into the larger queen and king sizes. The linen itself is lightweight and attractive. Linen is not soft, it's not supposed to be. This is true linen and has the appropriate look and feel. It does have a bit of an odor when first opened, but a quick wash made it smell great. I did put it in the dryer, but not for long. Maybe five minutes and then fluffed it around in there, then five more minutes. I wouldn't leave linen in the dryer, unchecked. The color is really pretty and I'm happy with the product. I only took off one star for the initial odor and being priced a bit high. However, if you want that linen look, and a duvet cover that will keep your duvet insert from bunching up, this is a very good choice.

Overall, I'm pretty happy with this set. There are a few very minor downsides, but nothing that makes me regret owning it. The main take-aways are that it's lightweight, soft, I haven't found any crooked or loose stitches, the buttons are all secure, and the buttonholes are nice and even. It seems to be made pretty well, but there is a chemical odor that should launder out. The linen fabric is thinner and lighter than I expected -- great for summer. It's definitely breathable. If your duvet is a dark color, it will probably show through a bit. The fabric is also very soft, not scratchy like some linen. I'm not sure the price is spot-on for a set that's quite this lightweight, but I'm not disappointed by the quality. It's made fairly well, I think. Just lightweight. I pulled the set straight from the package and dressed my bed. Although it's wrinkly, as all linen is, I like that appearance. One downside, it's a bit smelly. If you're sensitive to chemical-like odors, you will probably want to launder it first. It's not overpowering to me, but I'm not especially sensitive. So your mileage may vary. I'm impatient and wanted to see it on my bed right away, so I did not launder it first. I'm hoping the smell dissipates now that it's no longer sealed in plastic. I thought this duvet cover set was packaged really well. The linens came neatly tucked inside a matching bag with the brand stamped on the side of the bag. The duvet cover has ties to secure it to a duvet with loops. My duvet has loops at each corner, and also halfway down the sides and across the top and bottom. This duvet cover only has ties at each corner, so it's not as secure as I would expect. But that's not a deal breaker. The top edge closes with pretty wood buttons. It came with the buttoned edge tucked under, but I prefer the buttons to show. So I just buttoned it up differently from how it came. The set definitely has pillowcases, not shams. They're also very lightweight and made well. The buttoned seam isn't decorative -- that's where the pillowcase opens and closes. I doubt that I will sleep on them because of the buttons, but they're still very pretty and look nice on the bed.

So, first off, these things cost more than MANY of the duvet and sham sets on Bare Home, but we figured we'd go with these looking for a win in the 'durability' category. So far, so good. There was a smell to these out of the packaging, but that washed right away in the first wash once we received it. Non-issue. These are a little on the thinner side (than what I thought we'd receive), but still, the material, while a bit thin, seems strong. There is definitely a difference in the feel of this set over the quality of the $39 set we are replacing. That set, like this one, also has buttons to close up the opening on the bottom side of the duvet, and more buttons to close up the back side of the ***.and that worried me a bit, seeing as how the set we were replacing *had* buttons as well. Now, more than half of those are missing, but hoping for better out of this set, given the price tag on it. From a comfort standpoint, it's difficult to say much, as these weren't really meant to touch the skin. It's in my son's bedroom, but he has a top sheet between his body and the duvet cover, and at night, he sleeps on this thicker, heavier pillows, which are behind the lighter, decorative pillows in the shams. So I can't say much from a comfort standpoint or the feel while you sleep, because these were not intended to come into contact with the skin while sleeping, and we don't plan on changing our sleep habits to get a "feel" for something we usually won't feel anyway. At the end of the day, this could be a 5-star ***.but for the price consideration alone, I'll leave my rating at a 4, and continue to monitor the condition of the set with more long-term use and we'll get a good read on the durability over time. Should anything change about my opinion, I will return to this review to update you all.

Edit:I received a replacement and this one is so good! It came with all the buttons and everything. Also, after doing my research I realized that a duvet is used to cover something like a comforter. So I ordered a duvet insert and now this duvet is great! It has plenty of strings to tie the duvet and cover to avoid it moving. Overall a great purchase. I see this company going very high places. Original review:Upon opening the package it had a very strong smell. I had to wash it as soon as I got it. One of the pillowcases had a missing button upon arrival and another button came loose before I even slept on it. The pictures are very misleading, the duvet is very very thin, almost feels like a sheet. And lastly I’m afraid my long curly hair will get tangled on the buttons when I sleep. I dont see me using this for more than a week

The fabric feels great and the colors are like the picture. After two washes still no discoloration. Now we have them and are quite thrilled. We have now washed the bedding twice at 30 degrees and stuffed it in the dryer. All seams are neatly sewn, no color loss, everything as desired. Unfortunately, the bedding creases a lot, but this is not bad for us, but would actually require ironing. I am very satisfied and find the bedding very nice and cozy. Everything stays in shape and the zipper is stable and easy to use. The fabric quality is generally ok, but of course not outstanding.

This is an excellent linen duvet set -- I ordered the King/California King size in dark grey. To me, the color is more of a medium shade of grey (sort of what I would think of as elephant grey rather than a charcoal grey) and I really like it. The set comes with a cover and two pillow pillow shams packed into a very nice tote bag with the Bare logo on it. They are fairly heavy and have a substantial feel (even though the fabric itself is light and airy) + they drape beautifully. The cover and shams have the characteristic look and texture I associate with this fabric. The linen features a fairly coarse weave that shows the pattern of the individual threads and gives the material a variegated two-tone look. Sometimes linen is a bit scratchy until it has been washed a few times, but this duvet set was soft and delightfully rumpled right out of the package. I did wash it before using and it came out perfectly. I washed it in cold water with a gentle cycle followed by line drying. I am using the duvet cover empty for summer and it is just right for when I need just a hint of warmth when it finally cools off at night. The cover fits my down comforter perfectly and I look forward to using it this fall and winter (there are ties to hold the comforter in place). I really like the rustic look of the button closure. The buttons are cute with sort of a wood-look (they are plastic) but they could be sewn on better. I will have to reinforce the stitching or risk losing one or more. The buttonholes are nicely finished. The seams are neatly and evenly sewn. The current price of $145.99 seems reasonable considering the quality of the fabric and the workmanship (the duvet et was made in India). I love the luxurious feel and casual look of linen and it is durable and long wearing, too. I'm very pleased to have found this lovely duvet set.

I ordered this King size dark gray duvet cover set because our existing comforter was starting to show its age. First off, you have to realize that this is just a cover for a comforter (i.e. a comforter is not included). You also get two king size pillow shams and the whole package comes in a reusable tote bag. The duvet cover is well designed with draw strings in each of the inside corners to tie the existing comforter corners to (see pic). This keeps the comforter from sliding around or bunching up inside the cover. The shams have buttons that enclose the pillow nicely. The material is made of good quality linen that is soft and comfortable to sleep with. As you can see from the pics, it has a natural wrinkled texture to it (the lumps are from the bed and not the product lol). When you first get it, expect it to smell terrible. But do NOT let this worry you as the smell goes away quickly. We hung it up outside for a day and even without washing it the smell dissipated. It’s a bit pricey but the quality is there and I don’t see how you would be disappointed with this duvet cover set.

This duvet cover is soft and comfortable. The material is 100% Linen. I did leave the duvet cover and pillow shams out a day because there was a slight odor once taken out of the bag. They say that linen can have a scent when stored for some time. The scent went away after a day and it never came back. The duvet cover has button closures and has built in corner ties. It was easy to put in my duvet insert and it didn’t move around once tied in. The pillow shams are soft and comfortable also and has button closures as well. The pillow shams fit my pillows well. You can tell that this 100% linen duvet cover set is made with quality materials.

Upon opening this package I immediately smelled a horrible scent coming from this bedding. It literally smells like old rotten cheese. However this duvet set is lovely. It’s excellent quality. The linen is very good and it’s made very well. I absolutely love the natural looking buttons they’re a fabulous detail. I also read the leaflet and love the environmental cause supported by this brand. Despite the awful smell I would recommend it because it’s fabulous, just wash it immediately.

The material is thinner than illustrated in the description. When you hold it up to the light, the light shines through it. The material (linen) is supposed to be a healthy material to use for beddings, I have to say it does feel very soft on the skin, breathable, and feel cool in the summer, but the opening is held together with buttons and the gap between the buttons doesn't stay closed due to the thin/soft texture: not a good look. I do like the carrying tote that comes with this set. It is lightweight and can be used as a shopping bag. It is made of the same material as the duvet cover and pillowcases. While the material is easy to wash and dries quickly, it has a lot of wrinkles.
