This is a very pretty rug. Colors are true to pictured item. The cotton part of the rug is like t-shirt material, similar to a rag rug. I would conditionally recommend this rug. The reason I can't give a full throated recommendation is, the rug, as others have noted, is fragile. So, if you have pets or young children, this may not work well for you. The minute I unrolled it, our new, young cat was trying to sharpen his claws on it. Even though we had just had his claws trimmed he pulled some of the cotton segments loose. I had to roll it up and store it away, he loved it so much. I was able to use a chopstick to restore the cotton loops to their original placement, but I don't want to have do that everyday. I would recommend this rug, but think carefully about your circumstances before you purchase.
