Sheds horribly - do not buy

I wish I had taken comments made by others about this rug more seriously. I've had this rug a month and vacuumed it multiple times. Each time it produces lint equivalent in size to 2 small dogs. If you drop a piece of clothing on this rug, the clothing picks up lots of lint. Because of the way the rug was shipped (folded in half) it has a crease down the middle and even after leaving a chest on top of it for a month, the crease is still there. I've had other rugs by Safavieh that are great (also wool, but zero shedding), but this one is poor quality. I put this rug in a bedroom and had to move all the furniture to do so and returning it would be another huge chore. So I'm stuck with it until I get up the energy to get rid of it. I HOPE the shedding will lessen but I am not optimistic.

I ordered this rug in 3X5 to put in front of my sliding door to help my Senior dog stop slipping. I really liked the pop of orange that appears in the online pictures of this rug. However, when I opened the package it was a bit disappointing to see a much more subdued color palette. I would say this rug is natural tan like the color of a natural sea grass, with light flecks of gray cream. Maybe I got the wrong rug - but I actually like the color now it blends nicely with my furniture. Ive had it down for 2 wks - its super flat thick enough without a rug pad. It does have a few pulled threads already but its probably from my cats. Overall, very happy with this purchase at the 50 price point I paid.

Beautiful Rug - Price lower at other vendors

The Safavieh Abstract (ABT-340) Charcoal/Ivory rug seems to be of good quality. It has a very nice pile and feels lovely to walk on. Much more cushion-y than expected, which is appreciated. There was also little to no "new rug" smell straight out of the package, so it could be put to use right away. I placed the order at night and tried to cancel the order early the next morning when I saw another vendor offered the same rug for $175 less. Rugs Direct customer service was very professional and explained the cancellation process. They would contact the distributor to try to cancel the order but it was not considered cancelled until I received an e-mail notification within a 24-hour window. However, later that day I received a notification that it had shipped. The cost of return to Rugs Direct plus the 20% restocking fee would not contribute to any savings. So price was the only disappointment in the purchase. Otherwise, a very nice addition to the home.

Beautiful rug! Used this for under our dining table and it looks so nice. Have received many compliments. There was no "down time" as far as letting it straighten out - laid flat when unrolled. No major fuzzies from it, thick enough I didn't need a pad under it, design is there but goes with other rugs i have.

Rug is POOR quality

Purchased in 10x14. Rug has multiple snags after 2 weeks use. The wool sheds terribly. After multiple vacuumings, the wool particles continue to fill the canister and create particle dust throughout the room. The rug is 5 days outside a return window and Bed Bath Beyond will not honor a return. I neither recommend BB&B nor Safavieh. This rug is being taken to the garbage after 2 weeks of use - complete waste of money.

Pattern and color were perfect!

So nervous about buying this rug as I wasn't sure the color would be right. It is absolutely beautiful and the perfect color. So many compliments on the rug already. Don't hesitate to buy on basis of quality/looks. The quality is outstanding for the price.

Sheds wool daily

Love the feel and design. But don't buy, it sheds wool daily that needs vacuumed. Thought it was just at first but 4 months later still doing

Very soft. Nice pile. Colors are charcoal and cream with hint of dark blue. Only caution: ordered 8 ft square. Rug is actually 7”9” square. Would have preferred to have the extra 3 inches on each side of the rug. Will determine if this will work for my room. Shipping and ordering process was excellent. Came nicely wrapped and rolled. Would recommend.

I really love this carpet for its pattern, thickness, colour and how its vibe works perfectly with my decor. However, I had to give it 4, not 5, stars because of how much it sheds. I realize it’s wool, but it should not shed this much.

Perfect

The rug is perfect. Nice thick and soft to the touch. It looks exactly as pictured.

Although I like the pattern the material this rug is made out of is unfortunately very scratchy. It’s giving my toddler rug burn. I have bought several wool rugs before sand this one is disappointing. On top of that it did not lay flat after 2.5 months. We pulled it as best we could.

excellent quality rug

This rug is extrremly well made and the quality of the wool fiber is really good.I wish the pile was a little thicker but the fact that it isn't doesn't detract from the overall quality. The price of this rug is a steal. I've been shopping for an area rug for months, and most rugs I found I liked were a lot more expensive. The price didn't factor into my decision to purchase the rug, but ihe very reasonable price certainly is a plus.

Looks better than in the picture. Color is accurate. Delivered before "expected ship date". Great quality.

Beautiful, but beware shedding!

I wanted to love this rug so badly. It's plush and so cute. I kept it for three months, the entire 90 days before my return window expired. It just kept shedding, and shedding, and shedding. Maybe if I didn't have a fabric couch would this have been such a problem, but any time someone (or even the dog!) walked on the rug, then plopped down on the couch, the fibers were everywhere on the furniture. I was vacuuming daily, and nothing eased the shedding. I finally gave up and returned it.

Nice design and easy to care for, rug does shed a bit when you first vacuum…but much less so now.

A Hit in Our House

These are really lush and understated. Got two for hallways that adjoin, to avoid a custom runner. We usually order rugs from pottery barn or crate and barrel, but a lot of their patterns were too intense, and the prices for purchasing multiple runners was unnecessarily high. Surprised at how satisfied we are with these, and will keep Rugs Direct in mind in the future.

Really disappointed with this rug considering the price. I’ve only had it for one week and there are snags in the material. It also sheds A LOT, like constant fluff that has clogged my vacuum twice already. Pattern is nice but really not worth what I paid for it. Also makes the whole room smell weird.

It was a lovely rug, super thick and exactly what I thought I needed but when I received it, it just didn't go with my slate floor. I was super bummed to send it back but I didn't have anywhere it would work.
