I love the chair. It is comfortable, easy to assemble, and exactly what we expected.

While it looks like a comfortable chair, it's anything but. It also claims to be a rocker but barely moves forward or backward since the spring in the base is extremely tight. That lack of movement is what makes the chair so uncomfortable since the mechanism keeps the chair almost completely upright. To get it to move even a few degrees takes a lot of force and as soon as you let up, it springs right back to the completely upright position. So instead of being relaxing and leaning back, it actually has the affect of forcing you forward.

These chairs are beautiful and very sturdy. I found them to be relatively easy to assemble, but I agree with some of the other comments at the same time. The bolts are in slightly awkward positions and it can be difficult to maneuver the chairs in the right position to get your hands in to place the hardware. But I did this by hand with a regular set of pliers and had no significant issues overall.

Better than I expected. Bolting down the chair to the base was a little tight on my first chair assembling. With the first chair assembling experience, putting the second chair together went faster with these personal tips 1. Make sure bolt pattern matches hole to hole pattern before securing the first bolt and nut. 2. First bolt and nut. Tighten the nut just enough to hold it to bolt. Keep loose as much as possible without them falling apart. 3. Doing tip 2 allows enough space to secure the other 3 bolts with more working gap space. Room to assemble these two pieces is snug. Need patience. The BEST part was sitting in my new chair that I just put together myself. Aaah... My view just got better relaxing in this comfy chair!

While the chair looks great and seems to be well constructed as a whole, we have two gripes with it

Fairly comfortable, but only rated to 235 lbs... just waiting for a guest to accidentally test that limit. Assembly was challenging and required a tool that your average tool box does not have (we did, but we have a lot of tools). Definitely requires two people, as ot least one piece has to be supported as you reach through the access hole with an extended socket wrench in the correct size of 10mm (not supplied). You then have to rotate the metal base to reach the other 3 locations. I ordered 3 chairs- the first one looked pretty good, the second one had some scratches and one of the ties SEWN INTO the tufting. The third one just had scratches/rub marks. Pictures attached.

Broke on second day, wrong color, cheaply made

The chair arrived in the wrong color. The wood was almost black, the stain was so dark. The wood also had big chips taken out and huge scuff marks in highly visible places. The packaging the chair arrived in was fine, so it seems like it was already damaged when it was packaged and sent to me. Stuffing was coming out of the edges of the cushion. I immediately called Overstock about all this, mainly the color because it matches nothing else in my home, and they offered a return or *** back. I took the *** and we continued to assemble the chair. All the other reviews said it would be difficult and they were not lying. Definitely a two person job. We even ended up having to drill some of our own holes bc some of the factory drilled ones didn’t even go fully through the wood. Ok so we finally get it together and it’s ok. It’s fine I guess. The next day, THE SECOND DAY WE HAVE IT, (I’m a 125 lb woman) I sit down and hear something snap. One of the wooden pieces holding up the cushion couldn’t even hold my weight. This is honestly the worst *** I’ve ever spent. Such garbage. Anyone selling this product should be ashamed.

Just what I needed! Wicker is a deep chocolate/espresso brown; turquoise seat is beautiful & brightens up the room. Seat is super comfy, really fluffy & soft. Also, what's super cool is that it must be stain resistant because I was unpacking the cushion and I had it sitting on my stairs, and my basset hound came running in, all muddy from outside and he ran right over it, leaving giant mud streaks all over! I was horrified! My heart sank as I cussed at him, but I got a damp paper towel and wiped over the mud, and it just came off like magic, looking as good as new!

Once I got it together I loved it

My chair arrived undamaged, however I was a bit surprised based on how it was packaged. When I went to put it together it was supposed to come with 4 screws, 4 washers, and 4 bolts... instead it came with 3 screws, 9 washers and 4 bolts. I had to run to the hardware store to get a 4th screw which was annoying, but worked out fine. Once I got the thing together (took two tries because I put the base on backward the first time which causes you to kind of get dumped out of the chair when you sit up, which the instructions don't mention or have diagrams for) I was pleased with the chair. The cushion is soft and very comfortable, the chair is roomy but not too big, and it does rock and swivel like it is supposed to. I have now ordered the foot stool to go with it which I think will complete the set nicely.

We've had the chair for 2 months. It certainly has room for improvement. The pad could be thicker, and it is not as comfortable as a regular Papasan - I think it needs a chair ottoman to make it a comfortable chair (and a thicker pad). When we received the box, we could hear things rolling around. Once opened, the bag of nuts, screws and washers had opened and some were missing. A quick trip to the hardware store for replacements. Assembly was tricky. Only four nuts, screws and washers but you need to position the chair on the base, over a hole in the base, and then align, insert one screw, attach the nut and hold the nut with a wrench while turning the screw from underneath. Then turn the chair on the base and repeat three more times. It is a two person job. It took us nearly an hour to attach the four screws. Kind of a pain. Oh, and the chair plate that attaches to the base is a rectangle, not a square so if you put it on the wrong way, you cannot attach all the screws. We made this mistake since it's wasn't obvious initially. It does look pretty good once assembled. We need to find an ottoman that matches. That will help sitting comfort.
