Quite sturdy. Can be mounted with either the longer or the shorter side under the shelf. For sizing, the dimensions listed are the length of each side, along the wall or along the underside of the shelf from the corner where they meet. Good value for a just a couple bucks.

I purchased 6 Elegante shelf brackets in black to help support three floating type shelves I had in my bar area. The wall on which these shelves hang on isn't the straightest which created one of them to give way and fall off its track. Since I've supported them with these brackets I feel much more confident my shelves will now stay up especially since they now have that extra support. I've already had several people comment on how stunning they look with the brackets on! I'm glad I made the purchase, the only reason I gave it four out of five was because they were not packed very well and there were several little chips on the edges of each of the brackets when unpacked. I used a black spray paint and gave each bracket a quick touchup.
