Granddaughter obsessed

My 18 month old granddaughter received hers today. She is obsessed with them. Her speech therapist recommended animals with something tactile to help her talk more.

Love these Jumbo Pets!

Love these large pet animals. They are a great size for toddlers and preschoolers and a nice variety of pets to play with.

Smell terrible

They are a great size for little hands but they smell terrible. I washed them with Dawn twice and they still smell like model paint. It’s so strong my hands smell like it after holding them so I’m not too keen on my two year old putting them in her mouth, as kids do.

Very fun

Wonderful product, only problem is that paint started coming off the cat, first time in the tub. Maybe we received a bad batch or maybe you are just not supposed to take in the water. Children still love them.

I would not buy products from this company again.

Very upset about your misleading market gimmick that entices people to buy with a 30% discount, but code never sent or applied to bill even after check out. On top of that $40 to essentially get the cat out of this whole set only to have it have white marks & paint marks on it. Super disappointed all around.

kaplan is the best!!!!!

The children love the animals all of them. The size is perfect. A provider came to my home day care to borrow some domestic and farm animals to go along with her lesson plan. i told her to go in my environment and pick out what she needed to borrow. She was amazed at the animals i had for my children, i told her Kaplan has been my supplier for many years. She said my children don't have toys like this, i said it's because you don't buy them. I told her the child in me helps supply my children with all of their educational toys, they have everything they need to work with all because of kaplan. Everything they supply is good, the children and i love kaplan. They gave me a little credit I try to pay them on time because they are good. I do appreciate everything you all do for people.

[Rewarded Review] Jumbo Pet animals

This was set of 6 jumbo domestic animals including a dog, cat, rabbit, guinea pig, fish & bird. This is well made plastic & big enough for tiny hands. The largest animal figure in the set is dog which measures 8 inch length & 6 inch height. These are large enough for little ones not to swallow. These are very well made & looks realistic animals. My toddler loves playing with these animals. The child can have imaginative play & also make sounds of animals too. The toy comes with an activity guide with activities & also include animal facts which is interesting to read to kids & tell them about it. My child loved playing with these by making sounds of animals, feeding the animals by asking what food does it eat & also by asking where does the particular animal live. It was very interesting & was more than I expected how my child played with these & loved it. I have included picture of one of the animals close-up to just show how well its made & real it looks. Totally I recommend it for any child who loves playing & learning about pets.

[Rewarded Review] Jumbo Domestic Pets

These 6 pets truly live up to the name jumbo. Our 2 year old could hold them, but the dog required 2 hands. They are well sculpted & very sturdy. They would also be well suited to a day care or nursery school as they are very durable. They are very detailed and realistic. Although our girl cannot articulate their names, she made their sounds which assured us she knew exactly who they were! They are large for small hands and would also be great in a tub. We would definitely purchase the other sets available from this toymaker and look forward to keeping them for future generations!

[Rewarded Review] A fun toy

The Jumbo Pets six piece set says it is fun, and it is to play with. The animals and fish are quite realistic. I don't find the pieces to be real useful as far as a learning resource. Most children know what a dog, cat, rabbit, guinea pig maybe not that one so much, fish and a bird actually already are. I did find the activity guide quite interesting. It gives some nice details about the dog being a house pet possibly as many as 15,000 years ago. As well as there being 400 million dogs in the world. The information about 500 million domestic cats in the world was also interesting. It tells how the cottontail rabbit can be found in many places from Canada all the way to South America. The guinea pig information was a lot of fun to read. The information about the goldfish wasn't that interesting though the part about living in freshwater lakes as well as saltwater oceans was good to start the discussion with children about fish. The activity Guide found in the box is a good tool to get the discussion going. I mean it does bring up things that we normally wouldn't think about to talk with children about. For instance it gives questions to ask like whether or not your pet has hair or fur. Also habitats, if it's a herbivore, if it lays eggs, just to mention a few. It really is good discussion starters. I can't say that I found the set to be greatly useful in teaching but yet the toy animals and fish certainly can with the activity guide start a discussion about pets and what should be done with them. So overall they are fun for a child which is over two. The set would be fun for boys or girls. I would make sure the child does not chew on the items. They are not recommended safe to immerse in water. I really enjoyed getting to look at them and to review the product.

[Rewarded Review] Nice set of large animals

This domestic pets animal sets comes with a dog, cat, rabbit, guinea pig, bird and goldfish. They are nice and big, easy for pre-schoolers to handle. They are made of durable plastic, stand up to a lot of rough handling, and are easy to sit or stand in the upright position without falling over easily. Also easy to disinfect after a lot of handling!

HE ADOPTED THE GUINEA PIG. IT IS STILL IN GOOD SHAPE. THERE IS SO MUCH DETAIL IN EACH ANIMAL. THERE IS A LABRADOR DOG, A BLACK AND WHITE CAT, A COTTONTAIL RABBIT, A PARROT, A GOLDFISH, AND THE GUINEA PIG. THEY COME WITH AN INFORATIVE BOOKLET. WHICH PETS HAVE FUR OR HAIR? DO ANY OF THE PETS LAY EGGS? THESE STURDY ANIMALS CAN GIVE A CHILD HOURS OF ENTERTAINMENT YET CAN BE USED IN A CLASSROOM. DID YOU KNOW THERE IS AROUND 400 MILLION DOGS IN THE WORLD? DOGS BECAME HOUSE PETS MORE THAN 15,000 YEARS AGO!! THERE IS OVER 500 MILLION DOMESTIC CATS IN THE WORLD. THERE IS 350 BIRDS IN THE PARROT FAMILY. GOLDFISH WERE KEPT AS PETS THOUSANDS OF YEARS AGO. [Rewarded Review] cute and educational

I used these with my nephew, and he just loved them. Even though the sizes aren't proportionate to each other, they are very realistic. I, and he really liked how the material was soft and moveable, especially since he kept putting them in his mouth and chewing on them! They are moveable, but not poseable. I don't think that they would be as good for younger children if they were also poseable, as the joints would probably loosen up and create a choking hazard, so it is good that they are not poseable too. He enjoyed trying to stack them according to size, moving the cats legs open more so it could ride the dog, and try to stack the rest of the animals on top of them. The activity book that is included was good, too, and I was able to teach him a bit about animal needs and care and how to behave around an animal. All very basic stuff, of course, since he is only 2, but it is a start on the right road to responsible treatment of pets. This was important to me as I have cats and dogs, and this age is when children are so curious about the world around them. They can't help but touch, tug and pull at household pets, and often frighten the animals, sometimes even hurting them. I would recommend these to any parent, grand parent, aunt or uncle who will take the time to play with the child and teach them at the same time.

[Rewarded Review] Light weight and fun

These are totally fun for our granddaughter. Just right for little hands, very light weight. Imagination and experimentation are what these toys are about. These are toys that require interaction with the child, as it should be. I am a bit concerned that the paint might come off if she were to chew on them. Also, on the two larger animals (cat and dog), there is a very obvious and rather odd seam in the plastic. I distracts from the overall quality of the toys, but otherwise does not affect the them. The tail of the dog and cat are separate pieces, firmly attached, but I have no idea for how long. I can see an older child being curious enough to try to break it off. It just seems to be an unnecessary break in the overall continuity of the toy. Time will tell how well they last. In the meantime, there is much value to the play aspect of these toys.

[Rewarded Review] These are cute.

These Jumbo Pets from Learning Resources are very cute. I'm glad that they decided to include a Guinea Pig. The rest of the 6 piece set includes a cat, dog, bird, rabbit and fish. They are quite large, which is good. They won't be easy to lose. It would of been nice if the box was a little easier to open though. Both my 4 year old son and 7 year old daughter really like them. The details aren't spectacular but they are okay. My kids took these in the tub with them with no problems. I don't know if the paint will stand up to many baths but so far so good. Some of them do have a hole in the bottom of them so it's going to be a few days before they completely dry out again. Included is a paper with a few facts about each animal.

[Rewarded Review] Not As Heavy As Expected

The Jumbo Domestic Pets are a whole lot bigger than I expected, but they don't feel as "sturdy" as I was hoping. They feel like hollowed out plasticy-rubber figures. It doesn't deter me from wanting to get more, but it doesn't feel like they will last a lifetime. I remember the toys from my childhood were made with much stronger materials. My own children play with them even now! I don't think a lifetime of play will happen with these toy, but it's ok. They are very adorable and light enough for my two year old to handle.

[Rewarded Review] Really gets imaginations and conversations going!

We received our order of the Learning Resources Jumbo Pets a few nights ago. There is a dog, cat, rabbit, guinea pig, bird and fish. My first reaction when I got them out of the box was that they indeed are jumbo. There are some similar animals sold at our local book/movie store and there are much smaller than this set. The dog in the set is a golden retriever and he measures almost 8 inches long. The bird is a parakeet and he is about the size of a real budgie. The animals are made of plastic, solid but slightly squishable. The details of each animal are nice and complete. The parakeet even has a blue cere (the area above the beak) to indicate that he is a male. The only issue that I have seen is that the cat has a seam up along his back haunches. It almost looks like it had been cut and repaired. If that is the case all that is left is a bumpy seam that seems very stable and unable to rip apart and doesn’t take away from the enjoyment of play. My daughter loves them, she played with them most of the first night and when she woke up the next morning she went right for them. She loves animals and so this set is perfect for her. She is 2 ½ and she pretends they are running, walking or swimming in the case of the fish and she makes the sounds of the animals. These toys are simple but really get the conversation and imagination going. I more than likely will be ordering the other animal sets too.

[Rewarded Review] JUMBO DOMESTIC PET TOYS

these toys are marvelous. Children of all ages love them and they are interestingly packaged. They are big and colorful, easy for little hands to play with and their lifelike look for each one is remarkable. Excellent choice for a gift or even for decorating. It is a great way for one to pass the time for hours. The domestic animals are extremely lifelike and just plain great to own. I can imagine the rest of the collection must be wonderful.

[Rewarded Review] Bigger than I expected

I got these for my granddaughter to play with. She is crazy about kittens and puppy's and wanted something a bit larger. I was pleasantly surprised how large these animals were. The quality is excellent and the size in large enough they won't be constantly lost among the other toys. We will have lots and lots of fun with these animals..inside and out. We live near the beach and I'm sure she will love to play with them in the sand. I would highly recommend these to anyone looking for the larger animals.

[Rewarded Review] GREAT FOR 2 TO 4 YRS OLD

My grandson has just turned three and he is a little late on speaking. He is just saying a few words and he knows several of the six animals in the set. I received today and gave it to him as a pre-Christmas gift. He has now been playing with them for several hours and even trying to say the names of those he didn't know. I like that they are large enough that there is no need to worry about the toys getting lodged in his throat. The write-up on each animal is excellent in getting the child to understand. The parakeet is actually almost life size. This wonderful learning resource is great for 2 to 4 yr old and even beyond.
