After a few weeks, my plumber finally had the time to install my new Karan composite sink, and I love it! Home Depot did an EXCELLENT job getting the sink ordered for me (in a Fort Wayne store & in person), and it made it from somewhere south in IN to the far northeast corner of the state to my home in less than 24 hours!! Couldn’t believe it!! I love the design- size and depth of the bowls and the color. I couldn’t see an actual sink color, so it was trust that Bisque would go with my current kitchen counters. Great service from Home Depot snd FedEx!!
Stunning with our new countertops
We purchased this sink in-store, a while back, brought it home and opened it to check for damage. All was good. We had to wait several weeks on the new countertops, so it didn't get installed until just a couple weeks ago (early Nov, 2024). To say the least, it's stunning and really goes well with our faux marbled white counter. We are fortunate that our area has decent water (tested at 88 ppm) so stains aren't a huge issue, but it =will= stain if you don't wipe it out after use.
The sink looks amazing. It's a very clean looking, matte gray finish. It looks perfect against our gray/black granite counter top. Both sides of the sink are a good depth. The 60/40 split works well for cleaning larger pots and cooking sheets on the left-hand side. The sink feels solid, but not too heavy. I hope it holds up to wear and tear. Based on a few days use, it's already more scratch resistant than the previous stainless steel sink. At least the scratch are not visible, if there are any.
Karran drop in Sink
They are very nice look and definitely felt high quality material, I glad that I've decided to give it a try. I would not going back to stainless steel sink again. This material is amazingly hard I try to test drilling with HSS drill bit didn't make any cuts instead it grind down the drill bit so I had to use carbide drill to pilot hole, also I have to buy 1-1/4" diamond drill so to drill out soap holes. Very difficult to put pilot hole at the center of the RED dot they should start like put a dimple for at the for customer ease pilot hole. What ever pre drill at bottom don't work at all I try to knock out with hammer but didn't do any good I was worry I try knock it harder maybe break other place. I would not recommend this product for anyone to try, another thing the mounting bracket very hard to insert into the slot and I had to put 1/4" thick shims so brackets can be tighten. I f without the shim brackets just hanging loose.
Beautiful new kitchen sink
We installed this sink ourselves into our existing granite countertop and it is beautiful and functional. We did have to sand the generous edges in order to accommodate the faucet in our sink, but that was doable with a handheld electric saw using the sanding attachment and working carefully. We took several days to finish the installation to ensure that the silicone caulking had time to set. This is a DIY project that is helped by a little carpentry skill but very do-able with the correct tools and time.
Two have arrived broken
We have ordered two of these for our kitchen remodel. The first sink and then it's supposed replacement arrived damaged /were cracked in the box. You must pull the sink out of the box to see the defects, but enough is enough. Frustrating and sad at the same time. We are going to a local plumbing supply store so this doesn't hold up the completion of our kitchen remodel. The transport and /or storage of this product is apparently based on "Whack a Mole".
Don't buy the white!!!
It's pretty but it's all it's got going for it! I changed my old porcelain white because it stained. This one is worse than my old one. It stains EVERY TIME WE SET A METAL (any metal) POT IN IT, other stains don't come off at all, we have to continuously scrubb it, and what is in the instructions is useless. This is basically a piece of crap. Not Home Depot, not Karran would do anything about it. We are stuck with it, and we're very unhappy.
Perfect Sink for Quartz Counter Top Remodel
We recently updated our kitchen countertops from Corian to Quartz. We did not want the aluminum sink look and we found these Karran sinks. So many choices and options. We settled on the model 610 in white with the matching strainer and disposal cover. My wife was not sure about the disposal cover till the project was over. It is perfect. The big sink on the left in the photos has a garbage disposal installed. Would highly recommend Karran to any of my friends.
Karran Sink Troubles
As a home owner who will install a sink once in a lifetime I was unhappy with the poor and missing instructions that did or did not come with the sink. The instructions said that I needed to use an expensive hole saw bit to make a hole for my filtered water dispenser, but after calling the U.S distributor of the sink I found out a hammer and a punch would suffice. The full size counter top lay out sheet was mislabeled. The lines showing the needed size of the hole for my sink was way off the needed size. I was hoping for an easy drop in after I removed the old sink, but it was necessary to enlarge the opening by 1/2 inch on two sides. The provided hold down clamps were a puzzle to me as to how they worked. The instructions gave nothing about them that was clear. The person in India that wrote it did not have full information about American plumbing guidelines. After I was able to figure out how the clamps worked and put the sink in the hole I discovered that the elongated sink on the left was positioned directly over the hot water shutoff valve and the hot water line to the faucet could not be connected without putting a 90 degree connection on it. Also the position of the left sink drain no longer lined up with my existing drain and a flexible drain line was needed. The added depth of the right sink made problems with the drain which has the dish washer water coming into it.
Great Improvement
This sink replaced a cast iron sink when when I replaced my countertops. I had hoped to reuse the cast iron sink but am glad I got this 60/40 Karran sink. This sink dropped right into the cutout (except the clips came off). It was light enough for me to carry and install by myself. The 60/40 design easily accommodates my large pans. I don't get marks from pans like the porcelain experienced. I cut out one hole for a soap dispenser on the left side. I like that option since it keeps the other side wide open and allows 2-handed operation. The hole saw & arbor cost me about 25% what the sink cost, so I would recommend some time to research. I have no fashion or color sense, but I like how the concrete color complements the "special walnut" stained cabinets and light countertops.
Karran kitchen sink model QT610BL
I just installed my new Karran kitchen sink with a 60/40 split bowl. I was impressed by how easy it was to install. (Note: I was replacing a similar sink so I did not need to cut out the counter on this install as I had during the initial sink installation). The sink appears to be of really good quality, nice finished edges, sink hole cutouts accurate and smooth, and the black finish looks very high end. This sink came with nice accessories, stainless steel bottom grids for both sides, basket strainers in stainless steel finish. (I did use black basket strainers that I already had and am saving the ones sent with the sink in case I need them down the road). I do like the warranty that came with this sink, 25 years to original purchaser. I think a long warranty from the manufacturer instills confidence in a product. It also came with a cleaner/revitalizer liquid, very nice as I know these sinks can be somewhat hard to clean without the proper cleaner. All and all I am really please with my new sink and would definitely recommend this product.
