Not the same but better(?) than the original
The gasket is slightly larger, thicker and shaped differently than the original bu t it worked after a few tries to get it installed. I have the green flapper and had to pull the 2 parts of the flapper slightly apart to get the gasket installed. I don't think the parts come fully apart and it didn't break fortunately.
Parts are available !
Why spend $15 on entire assembly when $6 replaces a part that's doing all the work.

I bought these thinking they were an exact replacement for for american standard model 4021 (cadet 3) flapper seal/gasket. They did end up working for me but took a little "finagling".They are very slightly different in size which makes them fit differently in the groove in the flapper than the original. I'm not sure american standard even makes a replacement seal as everything offered online was a complete flapper & seal assembly at considerably more cost than these seals. In the end they worked and I'm happy.
