We bought six (four for the kitchen and two for an adjoining hallway), hung them with two feet of rod from the ceilings, and wired the ones in the kitchen to a dimmer switch (using dimmable LED bulbs). They're what my wife wanted; they were easy to assemble and install; and they're attractive and functional. What more could one ask?

The item description says it is black....IT IS NOT BLACK. The item is oil rubbed bronze. Love the fixture but want it in black so sadly I will return it.

These are very cute lights, but remember they are only 40 watts if you need more light in the area they are used in. They seem to be well made and the globe is a nice white.
