Great lock , smooth working mechanism and beautiful. This was a very easy install and makes us feel much more secure. Worked perfectly with my door and has key access which never sticks.

Problems Installing Knob in Left-Closing Door

I purchase this set after returning a Tylo Smartkey set because I could not install the doorknob in a door that closes left from the inside. This set had the same problem as the prior set - to install left requires the bottom latch to be reversed, causing a misalignment with the bolt sleeves when the knob is installed with the keyhole upright. If installed with the keyhole upside down, the alignment is correct, but this is not acceptable. The existing Kwikset knob that I want to replace has the inner spring reversed with the inner knob collar, allowing for proper alignment with the left-closing door. When I tried to reverse the spring/collar arrangement in the new knob, I broke the mechanism. Your instructions do not state anything about how to install your knob in a left-closing door, and all the videos show your product in right-hand doors. If there is a way to install the knob in a left door and maintaining an upright keyhole, it is beyond my understanding. So far, I have lost a great amount of time and some money for what should have been a simple 15-minute job.

Bad product

Just bought knob and bolt lock package with two sets. Kwikset used to be one of the best products for door locks. Not anymore. The screws would not line up for installation and a one hour job turned into four. Then when done the plungers stick on both door knobs. The deadbolt on one won’t let the key turn at all. It must be the wrong one for the keys. Customer service a nightmare. All we want is a deadbolt replacement for the key, but they want to play games and make us go through the same troubleshooting we have already done. Before that can be done you are on hold for 15 minutes then told to call back. I guess at 79 I don’t have patience for this nonsense. I would not recommend you buy this product.

Issues this time…

First set I purchased from Lowe’s had the handles not keyed the same as the deadbolts. Returned first set to get another and the screw hole on the handle was misshaped not allowing the screw to enter…

This is cheap and stinks

I bought this and the deadbolt works great, but the door knob will not unlock without a lot of jiggling and I will not stand outside jiggling for 5 to 10 minutes trying to open a lock!! Ugh

BUM DEAL!

Bum Deal! I received one bolt lock and one door knob, 4 keys. Not the double locksets that I paid for.

Unsafe for a main entry doorway

We purchased a new door and this new door handle set and hired a profesional installer to install both.Initially we were satisfied with this set. However it’s been close to ten times that were just turning the doorknob like anyone else would to use a door and falls off.It seems that the screws just go through the doorknob and then proceeds to fall off.This makes me me feel very unsafe to use this product for my main entryway door. As anyone can easily take it off since it does on its own.

It’s a good basic lock set that I needed for a house I’m selling but if I was purchasing something for my own house I’d upgrade to something with a longer deadbolt and heavy duty strike plates with longer screws for added strength but overall this was what I needed and price was good!

Does its job. Feels a little cheap compared to my older kwikset door knobs. Thats my only negative about it. It locks smoothly. Was very easy to set up. Decent price as well.
