Touch Mechanism Failure

Purchased this shower head in 2021. Like other consumers, the touch feature stopped working and changing batteries does not fix the issue. Do not recommend.

Not happy

I bought this a year ago and it worked fine for 6 months, and in then the touch mechanism stopped working. It only works on one of the head and unable to change. We changed the batteries to no avail. Does not change by touching either part. We have been told by our local plumbing store there have been many complaints on this item

This was an easy to install Shower head, and a good conversation piece. Flow is good, and the different shower modes are enjoyable. While the remote is a bit of a gimmick, it is actually one I really like. For some reason having to reach up and change settings manually is now cumbersome, and plus, shower heads on remodels are getting higher and higher, so several occupants might not be able to even change modes without this remote. This product solves all of that, and looks very high end. Good thinking.

[Rewarded Review] Great Showerhead!!

I have owned this showerhead for almost a year and my wife and I love it! It works great and the spray functions are nice. There is a standard spray, a lighter focused spray, a more intense spray, and a less intense spray. The touch on the shower head works well and the remote works great too! The shower head does require batteries (I believe it was 2 C batteries). I was initially turned off by the idea of it needing batteries, but I have not changed the batteries since I installed it and like I said, I've had it for over a year and switch the spray functions often. Overall, a really great shower head!

Nice but uses a lot of batteries

This shower head has nice functionality, the remote works well, but it uses batteries like there's no tomorrow. I have to replace 3 AAs monthly. My wife switches the spray to wash her hair. I prefer the rain show mode.

This is an awesome showerhead! The 4 different sprays are all wonderful. My favorite is the sensitive spray which is unlike any shower I have ever had. I also like the jet spray for rinsing out shampoo and conditioner. The best part is the remote on the wall that you push to change the spray. It works perfectly and is so convenient for short people like me! I have an overhead shower than I cannot reach from the tub. The remote is a miracle! Everyone in the house loves the new shower. Great product!!

Product came with all the necessary parts for an easy and quick install. Surprised as even batteries are included. The showerhead has a great turn radius to direct the flow which is nice for cleaning off shower walls. It’s nice not to have to reach for the shower head to change settings!

It only took me a few minutes to replace my old shower head with the new American Standard Spectra shower head. Super easy install, only required a pair of pliers and some teflon tape. I did not install the remote for the shower head at this time, as I am planning a bathroom renovation in the future and will install it after I retile the walls. But the touch features on the shower head work fine without the remote. The only downside is I have a smaller than standard bathtub, and need to make sure the shower curtain is closed before I turn the shower on or I will drench the whole bathroom. This is a big shower head, and while I love it and it feels great, it is probably too big for my tiny tub. It is a huge change from the old shower head, I feel like it massages my whole body. It is hard to get out of the shower because it is so relaxing now.

Installed about a week ago and amazed at the quality of the unit. Remote is a very convenient feature . Has nice variety of spray styles. Simple installation took only a few minutes.

If you have a wrench and are tall enough to reach the shower arm, I don’t see any reason someone couldn’t ace this install. Very clear and concise packaging and instructions. Helpful install tips for those of us that wouldn’t think to protect the finish when clamping down and twisting. They go as far to include batteries and plumbing tape! And the product works like a charm. A nice upgrade to the standard shower head we had before. Bravo!

The new American Standard shower head arrived unexpectedly last week and we debated as to whether or not we really wanted to give up a functioning “Speakman” shower head that both my wife and I liked after living with a really bad one for awhile after we moved into our home.

Showerhead provides a very nice and consistent spray across entire disk in drench mode. Touching outer ring changes to a focused center spray, then typical shower jet, to a massage spray, and back to drench. Wall mount provided, but not needed.

Big showerhead covers the whole body, it is quite powerful for 2.5 gpm, and remote function switch is great feature. Minor quibbles: can't get showerhead to "point down" enough, installation could have been easier (I have another brand that doesn't even require a wrench), and there were some minor issues with the instructions.

My American Standard Spectra eTouch shower head works great! Simply touch the outer edge of the head to quickly change settings. The optional remote works great too, especially when you have a face full of water. All four shower settings are great.

The remote is a great features. I like that you don't have the water hitting you in the face while tip-toeing trying to change the spray settings. On the shower head it's sometimes a little difficult to find the right area to touch but the remote takes care of that problem.

So today I got a chance to install my new Specta e Touch shower head. No matter how much or how little teflon tape I used the water would not stop leaking from the shower head to the shower arm. The cheap plastic fitting is not very good for a product such as this. I would expect a metal to metal contact. The shower head worked fine with the different settings. I would rather use a hand held shower opposed this shower head.

The Spectra eTouch 4-Function Shower Head was a breeze to install. We have been using this shower head for about a week now and it has been amazing. Being able to quickly switch between the four different shower settings with a touch of the shower head is fantastic.

good design, has enough swivel to point downwards instead of the far wall. (This is a big complaint from my customers) Remote is a huge deal for anybody that is physically impaired, uses a chair, or lacks the hand strength to operate the shower settings. Having said that, it would be nice to have a pause function for these users.

This shower head has a nice sleek look and is a nice size. Very easy to install. The different settings are great. The only thing that would make this a little better is if you could use more than one setting at a time.

Installed shower head easily, I like the filter screen with gasket, it insures a no leak condition. The 4 Function spray pattern works great with the touch of the finger on the rim or you can use the remote control mounted on the shower wall. I'm extremely satisfied with this shower head.
