Won't be ordering it again

We bought 3 of these for school gardens. Materials and workmanship is thin and poor. We had to make a number of modifications to prevent basic theft, even then, it was still easy for vandals to just smash the wood on the door. Bugs crawl through the half inch gap for air flow in the roof, but it is a big enough gap to allow rats and crickets to get in. We had to add window screening and hardware cloth to exclude the pests. It was easy to assemble and light weight.

Product and assembly are as described. It went together quickly and is solid. Two notes:1) a 95 gallon rolling trash bin does not fit, front to back. You have to put it in sideways.2) I thought the front sliding latch was too small and can not be locked. I purchased a larger one with a padlock option.

Total Fail

At first, we would have given it a 3. The wood is very thin. So...not great quality, but would do the job, we thought.Within a few months, the latch broke, and the roof 'wood' buckled...but the liner between the roof and the interior still kept it weather-proof...more or less. After about a year, the wood that secures the doors snapped off, so now I need a bungee cord and blocks to keep the doors closed.Today, about 1.5 years after we put this out, there's water pouring inside because the black 'liner' under the roof has broken. Now it is totally NOT weatherproof.Total waste of money and we must rebuild entirely. SAVE YOUR MONEY. Find a design online and follow it. Build your own with quality materials.

Good Quality, Easy-to-Assemble Shed

A well-engineered shed. Went together much easier than expected, with a simple, illustrated 2-page, easy-to-follow instruction sheet. Pre-drilled holes allowed two of us to complete the project in about three hours.

Shed collapsed

After about a year, one of the walls of the shed completely fell away. The quality of the materials was always suspect, but this was unexpectedly bad. For $800+, I really expected something that would last longer than a year. Now not only is the wall missing, but the shed is leaning dangerously. I have no choice but to disassemble and trash it.

The shed is good overall. The floor needs additional bracing (it bows under the weight of anyone over 75 pounds or so) for which I used some 5/4 deck lumber (about another $50). The instructions could be a bit clearer, but the hardware and pieces were clearly marked. You definitely want an additional set of hands to help with assembly. Overall for me it was a good purchase.

Great little shed. Was relatively easy to set up, all parts are clearly marked instructions are adequate.Couple of notes as other reviewers have done, I would recommend getting better quality exterior screws from your local hardware store. I drilled a few extra holes to secure the bigger panels as most are only pre-drilled for a couple of screws. This made the whole shed feel much more solid.I also applied waterproof stain ahead of building to help longevity.I was pleased with the fit of the panels as sometimes this can be a big issue with these prefabricated wood kits. No significant warping was noted. I would still recommend using a good quality exterior caulk where panels meet, just to give maximum protection against leaks.Overall, this is an excellent product and was ideal for my needs space without breaking the bank with a custom build. Would definitely recommend. Less

Item OK, terrible packaging, arrived damaged

This chest arrived in a flat pack box that was barely holding together, huge gaping holes in the cardboard, and naturally the front piece on the cover broke off somewhere along the way. Now we have to glue it back on and hope it stays. Looks terrible. Bummed.

Don't expect this to last long

Relatively easy to assemble. But as noted, the wood is thin. I'm afraid that if I lost my balance and used an outstretched hand to catch myself on the back wall, I'd just pop a hole through it.We had figured we'd spend the same amount on lumber if we built a shed ourselves (which we have done), and we'd save ourselves the trouble of having to measure and cut all the wood...and that is true, but given how flimsy this is, we regret purchasing it.If you can, build your own.

Do NOT buy this item if you want to use it outdoors at all. Within a couple of months, the roof has warped and sunken in because it could not stand the elements in Southern California. It has rained maybe twice here and right away the slats were ruined. The doors are also sagging so we can not close the doors anymore. I'm really disappointed because this item was not cheap.

Excellent shed-- with a little help

This shed has a nice appearance. It is moderately sturdy. Readers may notice that there is a difference of opinion about this attribute. It is clearly heavier than less expensive pine wood sheds' however, I would not say that it is exceptionally solid or strong. There are, however, metal corner irons and bracing. It appears that considerable thought went into the design of this in order to meet customer expectations, shipping regulations, and so forth. (It came in two large, heavy packages.) Went together without a flaw; two people two hours. I reinforced the shed with thin (3-ply) plywood on the sides and the floor. I also stained the inside and outside, and will put an additional layer of cedar boards on the roof. I expect that it will last about 10 years, maybe more. For me, it was an ideal "beginning" structure. I'm happy it was available. Less

Would not recommend! Shed looks great out of the box and the pictures are flattering, but it's poor quality for the price. I paid $900 for this thing thinking we would get years and years of use out of it, but man, was I wrong. Ours began weakening after about 6 months of completely normal use (storing shovels, gardening supplies, pots, yard tools, etc.) and literally on the 365th day of the 1-year warranty, the entire left panel of the shed came apart, separating from the frame and leaving an opening for rain, critters, and insects to get in. I tried to contact Wayfair that night so I wouldn't miss the 1-year mark but it was afterhours so no reps were available. When I tried to call back two days later, they told me that there's nothing they can do since I didn't buy the protection plan and it had now been 367 days since it was delivered. Super disappointing that I spent $900 on a shed that probably won't even last two years. Do not buy unless you buy the protection plan with it, and honestly I don't even think that's worth the hassle. With the flimsily build quality, you'd probably have to place a service call for replacement parts annually. Less

Don't waste your money!

When I went to install the roof panel on my new shed, I noticed that the black plastic liner was damaged. I also found that one of the doors had been patched and repaired, leaving an ugly mess. I attempted to contact Leisure Season, but after two months and many, many attempts I was unable to get any response at all either by telephone or on-line. Due to the poor roof design, once the wood ages and shrinks this shed is pretty much guaranteed to leak. The plastic roof liner would have prevented the water from coming into the shed, instead trapping it inside the roof to eventually rot the wood, but now the water will simply run inside the shed, damaging the contents. The whole shed is very cheaply made and will probably not last more than a year unless improvements are made to it. In the weeks since I built the shed, the plastic liner has deteriorated further, with strips of broken plastic now hanging from the ceiling inside the shed. Forget about warranty or after sales support, as there is absolutely no way to actually contact the manufacturer. The fact that the shed is smaller than specified is just another good reason to completely avoid Leisure Season and their inferior products. Less

Arrived on time, quality is what I expected, and got it on sale. The shipment came in two boxes and the friendly delivery person delivered to my door. It was easy to assemble and light weight enough to complete on my own with some 2x4 stabilizers for the walls during assembly. I added a couple of clear coats. I may change out the hinges, as they seem lower quality. No shipping damage items packed well. It was a great experience.Update: This is not weatherproof. There are drops from the ceiling and water/moisture seeping through the seams in the panels. This is a good option for bikes and outdoor tools... not dry storage items.

Looks can be deceiving...

I just bought this last week. The product is not as robust as you would hope for the price. I read the previous reviews carefully. No one mentioned how thin the wood is, you need to be very careful as you are screwing things in. Although they provide previously drilled holes throughout, put them in too tight or a little off and it will cause the wood to crack. Luckily I had some experienced help. Further, the identical doors should be labled so its clear what is up, down and left vs. right on the door itself...believe me you, you need to be sure of this. The assembly is relatively easy, it comes almost preassembled and is a lightweight kit that in theory should come together quickly (those are the pluses), but it did not because there is more involved than meets the eye. Because I knew from the write-ups that it is prone to warping, my guy built, out of pressure treated lumber, a deck for it to sit on. The shelves help stablize it but only to an extent. We then realized it needed not only to be attached to the deck it sits on but weight balanced as well. You'll now need a ramp. Also the opening which appears large in the image is quite narrow - I wanted this to hold a small sized snowblower (something that's about 50"L x 44 H X26.5 W and 160 lbs - 72.6 kgs) because I do not have a garage. My snowblower fits but with the narrow opening it would prove very difficult to just slide stuff in and out. The flooring is made from the same thin wood as the rest of the product, it's easily marred and impacted as you move things over the lip and I think over time will be an issue - it won't wear well. We are adding a metal tread to the lip. To deal with the narrow entry, a big design flaw in my opinion, we created a bi-fold door using the front panel and a door. Put the door on three bi-fold hinges and use the hinges supplied to install the front panel to the frame. Works like a charm! The doors will be slightly off because of the weight of the jeri-rigged door but we adjusted for that when we put the hardware on (which you should do last). Small price to pay for better function. This puppy needed a lot of jeri-rigging- who could use this as designed outdoors in the winter in Canada??? I will let you know how this winter goes. I don't say don't buy, it's a really good looking product to have outside of your home, but form does not equal function here. (Happy to add pics if you want to see the jeri-rigging) Less

Spacious nice looking shed as advertised

Nice shed that looks like the catalog. Spacious and room for all my gardening supplies. Just installed it so not sure how it will weather in the rains. So far not leaking. Only caveat---it arrives just as flat boards, I had to hire a handyman with electric tools to assemble it. That took 2 hours of skilled labor. The directions aren't very easy to follow so it was good he knew what to do. The sliding latch is a bit flimsy and tight, expect that it will have to be moved when the wood swells after rain. But overall, I am very happy with the final result though so far! The yard looks so much better!

Very well made. Used my own better decking screws to assemble. Plan on caulking all the joints to better water proof.Directions to assemble are limited. Installed additional PT boards underneath shed to lift off the ground. You’ll spend some time, but well worth it. Everything fit well. Bought 2 of them.

Love this cedar shed!!

I purchased two months ago waiting for a cool day to assemble but didn't see one, so took a day off from.work as I was going to tackle this shed by myself (female). Laid everything out in the garage the night before to confirm everything was there and in good condition based on previous reviews of missing pieces.....no missing parts. Once I started assembly between spots of rain showers, it took me less then three hours by myself. I will need to go in and seal between some seams but very easy to assemble. The interior shelves didn't line up but I think I'll be able to fix those.

Great Value, Easy Assembly

I ordered this shed around the end of March 2021 and due to the pandemic boom in home-related commerce, didn't receive it until about 6 weeks later. HD didn't do a good job communicating the delay, but other than that I'm happy with my purchase. The shed came in 2 big boxes that were set in the front of my house by the truck delivery guy. We (2 people) were able to move the two boxes to the backyard easily with no special equipment because the boxes were not that heavy. It took us only a couple of hours to put the thing together. The instructions didn't look that great at first glance, but really it was so simple you just about can't screw it up. We used a power screwdriver to drive the screws but you could certainly use a manual screwdriver as all the holes are pre-drilled. There are no other tools needed. The shed pieces and screws are all clearly labeled. We were impressed with the engineering of the shed--everything fit together perfectly. On a home improvement project difficulty scale of 1 to 10, I'd say this was about a 2 or 3 (easier than assembling many Ikea pieces). I think it might be tricky to put it together with only one person, but I'm sure it can be done. The finished product seems sturdy enough and it looks so much better than a plastic shed. The size is perfect for storing a few gardening tools, a small wheelbarrow and our hot tub chemicals. I love the 4 shelves that came with the shed.I'm sure you could make a shed that is 10x sturdier if you made it from scratch, but then you'd need building plans, tools and more specialized skills. If you just need a place to park your wheelbarrow and don't want to get into a lot of craftsman work, this shed is perfect. It looks great, just like the photo, AND the nicest surprise is that it smells WONDERFUL-like incense! Less

The first shed I received was almost perfect, it only had one flaw. The right side door was warped. The top and bottom bowed out. It closed okay but didn’t look right. On the plus side, when I called Wayfair, they offered me a new shed and said they didn’t want the other one back. I could keep both, donate one or do what ever I wanted with them. My intent when I received the second one was to switch out the warped door. The problem I ran into is the hinges didn’t line up so to make it work I would have to switch out both doors. But then I would have an extra set of holes in the frame, which would be obvious to anyone looking at it.Pros1. Easy to assemble. Did it by myself bin one afternoon.2. Wood has a nice aroma to it. Similar to cedar.3. Looks good, except for the warped door.4. Wayfair, as always, stands by its merchandise.Cons1. Wood is very soft and can be easily damaged cod your not careful during assembly.2. Some of the hardware that came with it is really cheap. One of the sliding bolts literally fell apart when I was installing it. Replaced it with one from my local hardware store.3. Long lead time, both sheds took several weeks to arrive. Less
