These chairs are substantial, solid, sturdy, and they look great. Assembly instructions are good, although I pre-drilled pilot hoes for a few wood screws (not cited in the instructions). The instructions could provide better leveling suggestions. But the chairs are great.

I love these chairs. They are sturdy and well-made. I’m going to paint them with chalk paint and wax them with an aged finish. They gave such graceful lines. You won’t regret this set of 2 chairs.

Beautiful chairs that are solid! It didn’t take me that long to put together - we bought 6 chairs. We painted them so I have no idea how they would take stain.

Appear to be heavy and supportive chairs

We purchased 6 chairs and a table from Overstock. Chairs were delivered fast and in good condition. Boxed held up to shipment. The first chair took my husband over an hour to assemble, but subsequently less time once he found what worked best. It is not a fast process and he knows how to do carpentry. Discussing putting set cushions/upholstering the seat.. not sure yet, but I think it can be done. Seat is comfortable and wide. The are nice weight and do not wobble. We hope they hold up overtime and think they will. We're going to stain them a dark color. We went to the local unfinished furniture store and purchased stain after reviewing our options for this type of wood. We saved hundreds of dollars from ordering the chairs at Overstock vs. purchasing at local unfinished furniture store and they appear to be identical. Glad we spent a little more money and purchased the Versailles chairs. They have more character and appear more stylish with the wave cute of wood. Less

I love the style of this heavy duty cottage like style chair. I purchased 4. Not issues with missing nuts, bolts or screws. However , the description at Wayfair was not what I thought the chair's finish was. The color description stated a cream color and appeared white online. I was looking for white chairs to match the white table that I purchased. I was disappointment to have learned the these chairs are UNFINISHED. I thought they were white. Still I really like the chairs.

The chairs are beautiful and very sturdy. That said, the instructions are way too brief. I didn't have a problem because I have put together chairs before. However, with nothing to rely on but those instructions, I can see someone who has not done this before having problems.You have to attach the legs and the stretcher assembly in the right order. The instructions are too vague about that.Also, the instructions simply say not to tighten the bolts until the chair is assembled. What they need to say is that it works best to put the assembled chair on a flat, level surface, and then tighten each bolt a little at a time, keeping the chair level. If you fully tighten one bolt, and then the next, you will find that you have a wobbly chair.A final thought is in regard to the seat. It extends nearly an inch from the seat frame on part of the sides and the front. If it were upholstered, I think it would look odd. It would probably be better to have new, slightly smaller wood seats cut if you plan to upholster. Less
