Works just fine. Keep in mind if you're buying these U-bulbs and you're converting to LEDs, most U-bulbs are fed from one end so you can use the old socket as a holder.

I've used these same type and brand lampholders before for a few months now in U-bend LED retrofits to fluorescent fixtures with no problems to date. LED lamps snap securely into place with excellent electrical connections.
