Seems to be heavy weight. Heavier than some other hearth rugs I’ve looked at. Has already saved my carpet from firewood popping out. Just wish they would have had more pattern options.

I would say the quality of this rug is average and I'm not certain it was worth the money I paid for it. I like the color, which is a silver gray, but it's quite stiff and it's difficult to wash. It also doesn't look like a quality product. I know that I would not purchase this rug again nor would I recommend others to purchase the item unless is was on sale and was a cheaper price.

I have and like this 10-foot runner for a high-traffic area of off-white carpet. I used five pieces of Pretmanns 2.5" carpet tape (100' roll, home essentials direct) down the length of the runner to keep it from creeping sideways (three pieces weren't enough), and two short runs of tape to keep the runner ends down. The color variations seem like they would hide traffic wear well, but I have only had it for six weeks. It is very soft underfoot. The red leaves have tuffs of brown and orange in them, and are not quite as bold as the photos would suggest. The runner seems to me to be a half-shade darker overall than the photos would suggest. I have dark brown leather furniture on off-white carpet nearby, some medium and light brown wood tables, and a dark walnut baluster railing next to the runner, and it seems to me that the colors in the runner blend in well.

Just put this down in the kitchen (No. There are no kids still living with us, in case you wonder). We love it. Quality construction. Side seams are finished very well. It is wonderfully soft underfoot. It definitely needs something underneath to keep it from sliding on hardwood floors. I highly recommend the Gorilla Grip carpet padding underneath. We bought the ~4x6 rug and 2 runners to match at the kitchen bar and back door. I bought a 6X9 size of the padding and cut to fit the 3 rugs plus an extra one. The colors of the rugs vary from photo to photo on Home Essentials Direct. I hope this helps clarify. They range from dark brown as coffee grounds to light as overly creamed coffee. They are in the neutral palette, when emphasized by incandescent lighting. Not too yellowy. Our kitchen has warm CFL lights and the tones are very warm. There are about 4 shades of tans and brown (including the dark brown branches) all neutral, and the rusty-red berries add a nice pop of color. There are also flecks of a medium green, which we have throughout our kitchen. Now, under LED lighting, which emphasizes the cooler tones in the rug, the browns stay pretty true, but the tan takes on a ever so slight tone of yellow. The flecks of green stay pretty much the same. I notice the two- and three-toned berries more and see the berries as more of a mauve and cabaret. We love these rugs. I hope this has been helpful.

It flattened out quickly, though the tightly rolled end needed to be weighted down for a few days. An anti-slip mat is necessary! When I purchased, Home Essentials Direct had swatches available for many colors. That was very helpful. This is much nicer in person than on the screen. Update Feb 2021 - Still love this rug. It’’s in a high-traffic area and has taken lots of abuse, but it still looks pretty good. The color has become a more uniform grey, but it looks intentional and not like years of dirt. Recommend this!
