It’s ok. The farmhouse grey is a good color and was what I was looking for. It took an experienced person 2.5 hr to put it together. The description states it is wood. It seems like plastic to me.It looks ok. It’s not fantastic. There were some holes in pieces that are in the back. Also one small ding on one of the front legs.

Beautiful cabinet. Well packed . Clear instructions. Everything lined up perfectly. Even gave us spare screws . The only problem is the strong , lingering smell . It’s still overwhelming after days of trying to air it out

When I saw this accent chest online, I thought it was exactly what I had been looking for to put in the entryway of my new home. Boy was I wrong! I know they have the disclaimer about colors looking different on different screens, but the chest I received is MUCH darker than the one pictured. There are some pieces/spots on the interior that are the similar hue of the picture, but the outside part that’s visible is much darker. I’m not sure it matters much though because a lot of pieces of paint flaked off during assembly so I’m sure it’s just a batter of time before there’s no paint left. I don’t have the time or energy to try to return it so I’m keeping it until I find something else in the style/color/size I want, but wanted to warn others that are considering it.

I absolutely love this piece of furniture! Good quality parts, very easy to assemble if you follow the instructions. It took me around 3 hours to get it done, but I am new to it and I was on my own. The drawers and doors work perfectly, no adjustments needed. I put the cabinet in my living room to store small items like CDs, DVDs, and books. It made my living room much prettier and organized. I would definitely use this brand name again. Thanks.

soft wood, terrible picture directions but sturdy

Instructions: RIDICULOUS. Photos, poorly marked pieces why is this necessary?! WHy can't the instructions be in color and show more details instead of cramming a bunch of nonsensical arrows on 4 short pages. Ugh, really obnoxious. Do better Simplihome!

A very clean looking cabinet. The wood is soft, be careful not to nick it. Came undamaged.

Like the cabinet, but my husband just put it together and we noticed that one of the door magnets is stronger than the other, so when you close the doors, one door closes faster and harder than the other and is harder to open because of the magnets strength is different.

Cabinet

I could have like to have given this cabinet a five star. It came fast, it took no time for my husband to put it together, no missing parts. But…. The paint job is bad, no consistent coverage, the right and left side of the top edges have these ripples. I think it was not sanded properly. Drawers glides are flimsy and the back board is not wood but plastic!

Very disappointed in quality of the piece. While assembling the piece, the guide dowel literally broke through the outside leaving a hole in the cabinet. Fortunately, I picked up the two pieces that broke off and glued them back in place. After coloring the seams with a marker, the repair was only minimally noticeable. Other pre-drilled areas were either too large or too small so assembly was difficult.

I like the size, sturdiness and the look of this cabinet. It is used for storage of linens and misc. items in my kitchen/dining area. The back of the cabinet is attached with screws instead of nails as many put-together-yourself items are and unfortunately a couple of the screws came through angled into the cabinet .. unfortunate and disappointing .. anyone else assembling this, be especially careful to insert the screws straight as there are no predrilled holes for them.

The cabinet would have been perfect. However, there are missing screws, some screws don't fit or tighten right. The left door hits and rubs. There is a slight gap between the two doors. It takes a long time to put it together. Its not worth the high price. The color is a little darker than the picture. But, after two days to put it together we will still keep it.

Do not buy this.

I really love the look of this cabinet but the finish on the black colour is very poorly done! I bought 2 of these and on both of them the doors and top of the cabinets look bumpy and not at all a nice smooth finish. Very cheap looking for what is supposed to be a nice quality expensive cabinet. Only reason I’m keeping them is because I’m having a hard time finding another style with the specific dimensions I need in black and took forever to assemble both. Just came here to say truly consider the quality issues spoken by others in the reviews. It can’t be a coincidence that I received 2 cabinets with similar issues!

This cabinet is solid wood except for the back which is plywood. It took us about 4 hours to put together. A couple of the weird screws broke and my husband got very frustrated. Should have paid to have it assembled ! The color is darker than I thought it would be, it’s a true espresso. It did have an odor but I left the doors and drawers open for 2 days & it dissipated .

The cabinet arrive d in good condition no problems with the packaging. It was hefty enough and I thought it would be a good product but the low end particle board it's mostly made of has a lot to be desired, several of the holes for screws were stripped out and I had to epoxy them in, luckily I have some furniture building experience and I was able to "fix" this issue, someone else probably would have returned it. The fit was fairly good with everything except the top, I had to trim one support board, (that came factory attached), in order to get the top to slip into the sides and back. The finish is so-so, and the VOC's are terrible, it is impossible to put it in the house, I'm not sure how long it will have to set in my sunporch before the smell subsides. I expected better from a $380 cabinet that I could have built myself for less cost but my wife wanted it now so here I am. It took me a couple of hours to put it together because of the problems, but it looks ok, not for a living room but maybe for a rental or a spare bedroom. I'm not impressed.

This is surprisingly sturdy for a put-it-together-yourself piece of furniture. I'm overall very happy with it for our hallway junk drawer/liquor cabinet combo. It looks exactly as pictured. Three main points though:

Love this cabinet. It is beautiful. I have a small area & needed something that would go with my other furniture. The drawers & closed shelving are great. I understand that it is not designed for holding a tv. I do not have small children or pets. I would not use in that way if I had either of those. It is a beautiful piece of furniture. My son in law was able to assemble in about an hour & a half. It is in a lot of pieces. He was impressed with how every piece was well identified. Even the bags of hardware (including extras) were marked well. He commented that he had never assembled anything that was of such good quality. Overall just a great quality piece at a great price! Very pleased with this purchase.
