Great design
Great water delivery. Previous toilet had multiple holes which hard water build up decreased water released into stool when toilet was flushed. Toilet would not fully flush unless we dumped excess water into stool. This design will never have this issue. We will save a lot of water with this change out.
Regret Purchase
I hate this toilet. It is very difficult to clean the bowl and I have tried two different styles of toilet brushes. Neither brush gets into all of the areas of the drain and it always looks dirtly. The flushing is now incomplete and the water swirls in the toilet rather than going down the drain most of the time. The thing I really regret is that I purchased and installed two of these tolets.
dual valves are junk
Worked great for a few months then the flappers started making a weird noise and eventually leaked so bad it wouldn't even try to fill up. Parts ordered will see what happens.
Never Again
So disappointed with these. I have two in my home. I have to replace the silicon seals every few months, I've had to replace the flapper assembly that I found broken and floating in the tank. The tank seals are deteriorating and floating around in the tank. Now I noticed that the porcelain finish is wearing off in the bowl and around the edges of the toilet?? And to boot it appears to me that a crack has developed in one. So now I'll have to replace again. Never will I ever purchase another American Standard product. The toilets that these replaced, original to a 100 year old house, looked far better than these do now after just a few years of service. They are a money pit.
3 years of Vormax constant maintenance and now thi
Does not flush effectively. To get it to fully flush, we have to hold the handle down until the tank empties. I have made the adjustment to screw and it just won't keep for a clear flush, toilet doesn't flush properly. Uses a great deal of more water than a standard toilet. Horrible design.
Great concept, but doesn't work.
Does not flush effectively. To get it to fully flush, we have to hold the handle down until the tank empties. We have adjusted the water level and the flushers, but still the toilet doesn't flush properly. Uses a great deal more water than a standard toilet. Horrible design.
Disappointed - running water & not white
Not happy with these. I put 2 of theses in during a recent remodel. They run constantly and require you to remove the over complicated cover to fix regularly. The white is also off white, not true bright white. I like the cleaning feature but very annoyed with the running and color. A new toilet should not be such a bother.
Looks great, some quality issues
This toilet looks great!
Need Standard Height
Vormax is a terrific design - but really need it in standard height.
Doesn't Work in my Basement
Just installed the toilet and it won't even flush a wad of toilet paper. Not impressed at all. Tried all the tricks for priming etc. and it still doesn't work.
Dual Flush
So our Vormax is 2 years old, starts leaking and running, find out it a "ghost" flush/leak; the dual flusher is bad and needs to be replaced. I called American Standard C.S. and they were WONDERFUL. Sent me the whole dual flusher kit, smart hubby fixed, no more running/leaky toilet. Yay!!!! So don't not get the toilet because of this minor fixable issue. The toilet is the bomb. Happy flushing
Worst toilet I have ever had
I have had the American Standard VorMax Model 4215A for 2 years and it is the worst toilet I have ever had in 30 years of owning homes. The advertisement was that it could flush a bucket of golf balls. I have two children age 10 and 12 and it cannot even flush fully when they use it. I have to plunge it out 3 to 6 times a week, every week. I am tired of the mess and nonsense. Is there a better tank mechanism or something that can make this thing work?
Worth the extra money above the Champion 4
You get what you pay for. I bought a Champion4 a while back. It came with a cracked base. I returned it and later the tank cracked from top to bottom. American Standard shipped me a new tank. I purchased 2 Esteem VorMax, $70 more then then the Champion4. It's stout with lots of material and gussets in the design. The package weighs 114lbs! Some of the parts are not standard resale parts, so you are fully committed with American Standard. Do use harsh chemicals or the chlorine tabs, as it has lots of plastic and rubber that will degrade with these products. It has 3 tank bolts and not the standard 2, so the tank is very stable. The flush is variable amounts, depending how long you push the handle, very cool. Make sure you purchase a longer hose, as the toilet is taller, and the hose is the only part that is not included. One of the coolest feature you get is the non-skid pads and toilet seat alignment washers, along with the anti slam seat. No more sliding around! The price difference from the $199 toilet to this toilet is well worth the extra money! The VortMax "engine" is really cool in the BOYS bathroom too!
Elongated toilet
Worst toilet I have ever purchased. I'm 68 years old and have fell off 3 times. Now I hold it before I sit down to hold it steady. Bad if you are elderly.
Constantly having to turn off and fix this toilet
Bought this toilet back in June. At least once a week the chain gets stuck on the flapper and causes the toilet to run constantly until we manually shut it off to fix. Contacted the company online for resolution over a week ago and never heard back. This was after waiting over 50 minutes on hold to try and speak to a representative.
Excellent toilet. Couldn't be happier. Highly recommended.
Had these for over a year and couldn't be happier. Doesn't clog and does a good job of cleaning the bowl. What they don't tell you is that it really has 3 flushing modes. Press the handle quickly for a quick flush, press normally for a regular flush, and hold down for a second or two for a "power" flush. And it looks good, too. No negatives whatsoever.
never again
we had bought American Standerd for years when we remodled we bought 3 of the vor max right hight toilets and with in a few months the falpper valves started to leak on all three. so I rplaced them $50.00 each for the whole assembly $150.00 pluse tax. now with in a year they have started leaking again don't give me its the water we have soft water through out. Its because they are JUNK we need a proper fix that will last because right now we will never buy American Standerd again.
Terrible
Toilet runs continuously from day 1 as soon as it was installed. Bought brand new from plumbing supply and waited a week for this toilet to come in. Extremely disappointed.
Average
Hod only two and one half years and these toilets constantly leak and the water runs all the time. Have called plumber that installed several times and he can not get them adjusted properly. Expensive and should last longer than two and on half years.
[Rewarded Review] Wow! Amazing!
This Vormax toilet is amazing! I am very impressed with the powerful flush and how clean it stays. It has not clogged at all.
