Ordered four of these and They came in all bent. One was so bad. I had to return it the other ones And we were already in the process of replace them so I had to go with them. Seems like their packaging is always so flimsy not the first time something broke.

poor packing

Lights seem adequate. I bought 9 and 2 had dented frames and 2 broken diffuser’s. Cant get customer support to replace them. Very frustrating and not worth the hassle. I’ll be getting future lights elsewhere.

I’ve ordered about 15 of these over the last several months and more than half were damaged or broken. Unfortunately time didn’t permit me to return these item so I ordered more just to get a few that wasn’t broken. The light itself is great but it doesn’t hold up to shipping.

broken lens

Packaging was totally destroyed so opened it immediately to inspect for damage, there it was a beoken lens. Additionally the wire cover was dislodged and a tab was bent making it near impossible to remove. I’ll bencg test it soon to see if it is functional. I actually witnessed it falling over when the driver opened the door. Apparently it wasn’t secured for the trip. Disappointing

I really like this product! It fit the existing opening exactly as I expected it to, and it was easy to install even with my limited knowledge and skill level. I only needed three hand tools and a 6’ ladder to replace the worn out fixture!

go LED, no more bulbs

I installed two troffers in my shop with the LED format. I'm thrilled because i won't have to change the bulbs anymore. The light output is the same as the bulbs. There is also a dimmer function that is built into the ballast.

Great if it works when you buy

Picked the light up to swap out with a unit for a client. Got on site and wired it up and wasn't getting power through the ballast. Checked wiring intensively and progressed to chasing other ghosts. When unwiring, the blast was sounding if it was shorting out and the light started flickering. popped the ballast out to find the input had a broken solder point. Hopefully the second one will work but what a waste of billable time.

[Rewarded Review] Perfect for what I needed

I got this light for my studio where I make custom shirts for family pictures and outings I needed a big light that would cover a good size area and this was perfect for it. I had a electrician install took him about a hour from start to finish on the install and it looks great. The light is super bright exactly what I needed. We have been running it daily for the past couple weeks a couple hours each day and just love how much light it gives our room very pleased with the quality we have not had any issues with it at all. You turn the ditch it immediately comes on with no hesitation.

[Rewarded Review] Great Lighting !!!

The Lithonia LED Lay-in Troffer light is the perfect addition to my windowless basement. Not only does it look great, it lights up great. I wanted something different for my game room (basement) and someone suggested this at the store. They were right !!!! I actually went out to buy an extra one to give to my brother-in-law for his basement. I highly recommend this product.

Giant piece of shameful garbage

I believe this is made from recycled gum wrappers. Quite possibly the thinnest "metal" known to man. The cover is either made for a completely different model and the manufacturer laughs every night at the people trying to balance it on the fixture without it falling, or they are truly the worst engineers in the world. Absolutely shameful. I hate returning to a store. Ill just throw things away. I hate the process. Im bringing this thing back. Id drive it back 200 miles. Id pay to enter a lottery to fight a product engineer associated with this sku.

R&R (remove & replace a kluge)

These LED fixtures are a breeze to install (I did 10 in the basement). They are replacement for a decrepit kluge consisting of a 2-bulb florescent unit fit for a garage, which had been screwed to the joists and 'tin-foil' used to provide a reflector [installed by a prior owner in an obvious beer & pizza, brother-in-law operation], then a translucent 2X4 panel inserted in the drop-ceiling. Information of the website provided dimensions so I figured I had about 1" clearance to slide the units in place after removing a couple of adjacent tiles.. As the old units (in which the insulation had deteriorated causing a short in the fixtures) had been plugged into receptacles versus being hardwired, wiring was a breeze. I used 6' Dishwasher connectors (also from Lowe's) and it worked like a champ. My wife helped me slide the first couple in place (I also secured them to the joists to off-load the drop ceiling), but I installed a number by myself -- I helps to be 6'3" (& 76 yo). I'll attach before & after photos where I was partially complete. The new LEDs are on the right. Looks great, was easy & what else is one to do with all this spare time during the pandemic.

It was a breeze to replace the older fluorescent product. I think it may have been about 1/8 inch longer and about 1/4 inch narrower than the old fixture but it fit in the opening without any difficulty, I think the directions might be "fleshed out" a bit more to indicate that if one is connecting to solid wire, just press the wire into the connector, but warn anyone that once connected the connection is permanent and the house wiring terminating at the light is intended to be solid wiring rather than braided wire, otherwise one must cut the connector off and use wire nuts in order to make the new connection. Make certain one puts the white wire in the white side of the connector and the black wire in the black side of the connector. Otherwise you will have wired the fixture incorrectly and ruin the new LED light

My house was a business in the past and there are dropped ceilings with many 2X4 troffer lights. I began replacing the old lights with Lithonia LED Troffers. The light is very bright and the savings on the wattage were tremendous. At first we were very happy with our purchase and slowly started replacing more as we could afford. Within the first year of having 4 installed one of them developed a 2 second delay when turned on. It was annoying but we lived with it. We didn't purchase more in case there a defect. Within a couple years this light no longer comes on and on top of that one other light also has seized to work. So out of 4 lights we replace half still work. You can't just replace the lights if they go bad. I assume you throw out the fixture and put in new. I found what is better than these is to buy the fluorescent troffer with an electronic ballast and purchase the LED bulbs instead. Then when the bulbs go bad you just replace them or if the ballast fails replace it. The bulbs are just as bright or brighter than an LED troffer and you can get 17 watt bulbs. I use just 2 of the 4 bulb sockets and get great lighting with lower wattage. Just consider what you must do when you turn it on and it doesn't work. I expected to get at least 10 years of use out of these. They don't last as long as promised.

There is cheap, and then there is stupid cheap, and with this light, you have found it. My suggestion is to spend the extra $20 and and buy the fully luminous troffer that Home Depot sells next to this light. This Lithonia light has a very flimsy construction and the connection points are not ideal. The depth profile is 3.25", and that might be a tad tall for some installations (like mine). FWIW, the fully luminous troffer is around half the profile of this light.

Bought this as a replacement to my old tube fixtures, when the ballasts went bad. Weighs about 1/3 of the old T-8 fixture and seating it in the drop ceiling was simple. Wiring was a breeze (I didn't use the included harnesses). All in all, took my son and I about 20 minutes from removing the old fixture to bright, energy efficient LED's! I picked my fixture up in store and checked it prior to checking out, as many of the reviews indicate some shipping damage. As my old fixtures die, I will be replacing them with these. Thanks, Home Depot, for having these in store when I need them (not 5-10 business days out).

Great lights, so far no issues. Lights are relatively easy to install (drop ceiling can be a pain but not the lights fault). The lights could use better instructions for wiring. They don't come with wire instructions at all. I had to google a wiring diagram as they would not work being hooked up the same way my old ones were (1950s house, no idea what the previous owners had done). They are super bright, much brighter then the compact tube lights that were there. They turn right on even on the coldest days in a cold basement (I have not finished or heated the basement yet).

[Rewarded Review] Very Efficient

Although it was double-boxed, it arrived in bad shape, bent all over the place, the lens was broken, and the metal cover inside the unit had come loose and was sliding around inside. After fixing everything, it was good to go except a big hole in the lens.
