We use this all the time. It's great for making homemade English muffins, pancakes, burgers, etc. It's great across a large center burner on the stove, and we actually chose a stove without a built-in griddle because we already had this and knew it would be way easier to clean. Just be sure to dry it fully if you wash it (put it on some heat until it's dry) to avoid it rusting.
LODGE CAST IRON REVERSIBLE GRILL
THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR IN A STOVE TOP GRILL. ITS WEIGHT MAKES IT STEADY AND EVENS THE HEAT OVER THE WHOLE SURFACE. THE GRILL MARKS ARE RESTAURANT QUALITY, MEAT COOKS THROUGH. MONEY WELL SPENT
Great grill addition.
Love this. It's great for the backyard grill, or the campfire, or the beach charcoal grill. Cleaning is easy. Very heavy duty. It says it's pre-seasoned, but I did it again anyway after I gave it a cleaning when I first brought it home.
A griddle for a gas grill
The Lodge 20" Reversible Griddle is fantastic! Its versatility and even heat distribution make cooking a breeze. Perfect for pancakes, steaks, and more! Highly recommend! Preheat, lightly oil, and enjoy effortless, delicious meals on both the smooth and ridged sides. [after a proper seasoning] Ideal for stovetop or outdoor grill use. Durable and easy to clean!
Awesome griddle
We love it! We're a family of seven so cooking pancakes on a griddle is a must. It does take a while to learn how to cook on it, especially on our glass electric cooktop. It turned out our burners were not exactly calibrated the same; one was hotter than the other. We needed to learn how long it takes for the griddle to heat up and more importantly how long it takes to cool down (along with the electric heating elements). Now that we have mastered that, cooking on it is a dream.
Great Product/Great Price
This is exactly what I had been looking for. I needed a griddle to complete my outdoor kitchen. Lodge makes great cast iron; preseasoned so I was able to use it right out of the box. Thanks Lodge AND Ace!
Not a useful design, particularly for induction.
This pan is trying to do too much and doesn’t do any of it well. The grill side doesn’t engage the magnets on my induction stove because of the sides on the griddle side. When using the griddle side, the handles are poorly placed and limit the contact with the burners.
Best Griddle for Chefs
This griddle is one of the best compared to other products available; the two-sided design makes it versatile for cooking items like pancakes, tortillas, and other foods that require a flat surface. The grill side is ideal for grilling meat, sandwiches, and other items that cook well on a grill surface. The seasoned finish keeps food from sticking and is easy to clean.
Poor Packaging with shipment
I have previously owned one of these griddles. I loved it. I ordered to replace my old one that I gave to a friend. Problem isn't with the item but the packaging and shipping. The item was shipped in the box that you would find it in the store. The plastic fork, spoon and knife I also ordered came packaged better than this item. It's cast iron so can be brittle. If it was packaged properly I most likely wouldn't have to be returning it.
Lodge Griddle Favorite!
Now my favorite tool in the kitchen. I cook on this just about everyday. So easy to clean too. Makes for easy omelet flipping. Bacon grease makes some really tasty fried potatoes too. Looking forward to searing some nice thick Ribeyes real soon.
Good value
This product is exactly what I expected when I purchased it. Very heavy cast iron, ready to use. My only complaint is a feature that I knew about before purchasing that isn't that big of an issue for me. The handles are extremely hard to grasp when removing from a hot, flat surface, such as a wood stove top. Would I recommend this product to others? Yes
One side, or the other. But not both.
You can use one side, or the other. The 'seasoning' (that we work so hard to keep on cast iron cookware) will burn off on the side that is 'down' (facing the heat). No way around it, that I've found.
Absolutely the best!!! Lodge and Lehman’s!
This is a serious piece of iron! It’s big enough to cover both burners so it gets plenty of heat to cook with. It has plenty of area to cook bacon, burgers, or anything you choose.
All about cast iron for a grilling surface.
Before you buy any cast iron cookware be aware of the work it takes to keep it pristine and always ready for use. I like to use my cast iron cookware on my grill. That is why I bought this griddle. When it heats up, it holds it heat, and gives a great sear. I love cooking burgers fast locking in the juices and giving crispy edges. As in smash burgers. I also love to blacken salmon on this griddle. It also turns out crispy and juicy. I like keeping the fish smells outside. The uses are endless. But it does require work to keep it clean and seasoned. Read the instructions and you will be satisfied with your cooking results.
Don't Overheat on electric stove
Cast iron is extremely efficient in retaining heat! For instance, if your electric stove has an heating element that goes to 10, set it at 4 for your cast iron. You need to allow the cast iron about 10 minutes to heat up to retain your set heat. Also, I have made pancakes by setting my grill across both burners at setting 4 with no issues (again, let you grill heat up for about 10 minutes first). Even the middle section, not across the heating elements will cook your pancakes fine. I won't deny that you do get some smoke but that's probably because my grill is new and has not fully cured. Good luck and be patient as you need to adjust my suggestions based upon your cooking surfaces and heat output.

When I got my new cooktop, I decided to buy a griddle and I'm so glad that I did. I choose Lodge because of it's reputation and the fact that it is a long-time family owned US company. I use it all of the time. My husband watched a video on the best way to make a burger, and cast iron won out. I immediately decided to try it. 4 min on each side and it was perfect. It easy to clean.I let it cool off then wipe it with a paper towel, wash it with hot water (and a metal scrubber if there is anything that won't just rinse off) and dry with a paper towel. I only found two issues with the griddle. It is heavy. I would say about 30 lbs. and for this 72 year old lady, that is heavy. Second, when I use it I have to remember to turn on the stove fan or it sets off the smoke alarms. If I forget, the smoke alarms remind me to turn on the fan. LOL
Favourite new cooking tool.
We bought this right before our camping trip in June. We have used it in multiple places and on multiple heat sources. We cooked with this over our Colman grill/stove while camping, propane BBQ during hot weather, and on our gas range indoors. We have used it for cooking pancakes, sausage and bacon, grilling meats and vegetables. When cooking for a group it speeds things up greatly. (We are a family of 6). The cast iron cooks evenly and is easy to clean. We keep it seasoned so that it’s a non stick cooking surface. Just don’t use cast iron for cooking eggs. We love it and anticipate it lasting a lifetime. It’s definitely worth the investment.

This grill is excellent. Placed it directly on top of or RV Webber 2000 portable with gas canister. Went glamping with 4 grand children for 5 days, cooked every meal on the grill. Started with pancakes and moved to scrambled eggs with bacon, hamburgers, grilled cheese sandwiches hot dogs. Held heat very well, drip lip is wonderful, you need a Turkey baster if doing a lot of bacon. Takes a little time to get to temperature. But that is a function of how cast iron works. Made 8 pancakes at one time and second batch was ready when the kids were ready.
Quality is not at issue; the griddle is of excellent quality -- that is apparent from just seeing and handling it. The problem is that it is too small for our Viking gas stove. I wanted a griddle that would extend over two burners (front and back) and cook 8 pancakes at once. Because of the effective size of this griddle, the pancakes have to be staggered and it will only cook 4 at a time -- which is no improvement over the old stainless one-burner griddle I have been using for years. Also, the gas flames come up through the hand openings at each end... For a smaller (electric?) stove this might be perfect. I will find a new home for ti, and am sure that the new owner will be happy. My $100 lesson is to be more careful about on-line purchases. I was looking for a griddle measuring 11"x22". This was the closest I could find in Canada.
[Rewarded Review] Great for Pancakes, Burgers, etc
This is a great griddle. It's the real deal of cast iron--super solid and heavy! But that's great because it means it is capable of getting nice and hot and retaining that heat. I also have an electric griddle which is handy, but this one can't be beat for getting a nice sear on things, it can definitely get hotter. The design is nice, there's a channel so fat will drain off into a reservoir along the side. I love that you can use either side for the flat top or grill lines. I have a stovetop with a bridge between two burners so this is a cinch to use and heat evenly. I love that this can also be used on a grill or over a campfire. I am treating mine with care so that it lasts for years--no soap on it, nothing too abrasive and I recondition it with cooking oil between uses. Sounds tedious but really only cakes a couple minutes to do and well worth it. Nothing sticks and nothing like a glossy and well-cared for cast iron cooking surface!
