Very little assembly required. Has the 3-way switch and says to use 100 watt bulbs. I put those in, but only get one brightness level. They are sturdy and hold up to my cat's antics, who has managed to knock other seemingly sturdy things off table tops. I have a long living/dining open concept apartment (28') with only one overhead light in the kitchen at one end, so I placed these on each end of a console in the middle of the room to offer light to the whole space.

Affordable, nice, lamps
Great lamps for the price. I got two (including shades!) for $80. Price can’t be beat! The cord could be longer, but I would definitely buy again. Very simple look & updated my living room nicely.
