Beautiful rug. Colors are just as depicted. Brightens up the room but not overbearing. Soft to walk on. Note when we received the rug it came folded not rolled and there were deep creases all over. Followed directions and let the rug lie flat for 48 hours and all wrinkles disappeared. Put a padded rug pad underneath and it looks and feels terrific. Highly recommend.

Why are other quality brands’ rugs so expensive?

At first, I wondered why Safavieh’s wool rugs were so cheep, but now I wonder why other brands are so expensive. This is my second wool rug from this manufacturer and just like the other one, this rug is in a relatively high use area (this one is in my kids’ playroom). I’ve had this rug for a bit and have had no issues whatsoever. Also, Overstock is a fantastic place to order rugs from! Like the many others I have purchased, this one showed up fast, was very well packaged, and when unrolled, matched the description and pictures perfectly.

The rug looks great, however it smells. So far no shedding like other reviewers mentioned. It smells like mildew. It was delivered 5 days ago; it’s been aired out, vacuumed, I put down baking soda and let that sit for hours and vacuumed again (I did this twice) still smells the same. I will have to pay to have it professionally cleaned. I hope it holds up and that the smell goes away.. EDIT! I spoke with customer service and they said the "un-gasing" process can take up to 1-2 weeks. James was very helpful and offered me an exchange if the smell does not go away by next week (it's already been 1 week). Fingers crossed and keep you posted!

Excellent quality, pretty color theme, but sheds

The quality of this rug is excellent. We own another Safavieh Kids rug, and I loved the quality of that one, so I went with this brand again. I like the 3D texture of the rug with the slightly raised stripes and dots. It's very gender-neutral and goes well with neutral color themes. It laid out flat very easily. My one caveat is that this rug sheds A LOT. I suspected this would be the case since it is a wool rug and our other one shed a bit. I haven't been great about vacuuming it as frequently as I should, but hopefully the shedding dies down. I would definitely recommend a rug pad to make it softer and add extra cushion.
