Doesn't hold up
I love the design of this table and it's an excellent complement to the room it sits in. It elegant and minimal with a beautiful dark finish and a tropical warmth that is excellent. Unfortunately it's veneer top doesn't hold up to standard use. Having had no use whatsoever except a few coffee table books being stacked on top and a couple of card games, the entire tabletop is covered by extremely noticeable fine scratches in the topcoat of the finish. Because the finish is so dark, the marks are extremely noticeable. I'm sure these could buffed out with wax, but honestly a coffee table isn't meant to be treated this delicately. The worst part about this is I feel like the table is represented as a solid top table, the product description of the L&G website even states that it has a 2" thick top. I was honestly dismayed when it arrived and I saw it wasn't a solid top. As we like the style so much we decided to go ahead and get a glass top for the table, overall however this is a disappointment.
