the light works but the place you can plug in your phone doesn't. I've tried multiple cords and multiple different electronics and it doesn't work.

Absolutely perfectly and fits nicely into the space . I had a few bad moments trying to figure out to turn it on but once I did all was great, (By the way, you grasp the silver top of the lamp and twist it toward you} .
