Terrible craftsmanship, thoughtless design.
My husband and I ordered this bed for our twins. We sourced the lower frame from a different store, but found this loft bed through Bed Bath and Beyond. The corner of one of the white safety guards was damaged and broken from shipping, but we decided to proceed with it as the damage would be hidden once the mattress was in place. We are very handy people with a shed full of tools, and have put together countless things far more complicated than this. We followed the instructions perfectly and got through 95 percent without any issue, until it came time to attach the four completed sides of the bed together. The dowels lined up with the holes, but when it came time to use the provided M6 bolts to anchor the four legs together, only half were able to be successfully screwed in. The others just spun in the holes without ever catching. Upon further inspection, the countersunk holes that were routed out are not deep enough, and the M6 bolts are too short to actually make it through to successfully catch the thread on the other side to screw in. So now we have four large, cumbersome sides of a loft bed that won't connect with eachother. And our five year olds are sleeping on mattresses on the floor in the living room with our neighbors motion sensor floodlight going off and on all night. To return it is going to be a nightmare, because it's almost completely constructed. There's no way to get it back in the box. If you're lucky enough to get one that doesn't display the same shoddy workmanship that ours does, it is perfectly cute. But seeing as how it's stolen our week from us and has been a source of MANY tears from our kids, we greatly regret the purchase.
Absolutely love this loft bed. Had a queen bed with headboard and didn’t want to invest in a whole new bunk bed unit. This fits perfectly over it, making it an easy commitment for the time your child is over the top bunk craze.
So far so good. Put together mostly by myself with my 8 year old and got husband to help out when attaching larger parts together. My son loves it and wants to stay up there all the time. We have the baby’s crib underneath. A little tight, but so far (two months) it’s working great.
Good quality, but extremely high ! my five-year-old is terrified to sleep on it. great to store the toys, though. You definitely need minimum two people to build the bed.
Get it!
This is a very nice bed. My daughter loves how open it is underneath. It moves just a little but it feels very sturdy. It did take a while to put together but it was worth it.
We are really satisfied with this loft bed. My step daughter moved home from college and we converted my office to a shared space. It’s a really beautiful piece of furniture. I did paint the slats for the mattress white. I don’t know why they leave them raw wood when you can see them when you are working under the bed. I also used a gold rub and buff on the metal crossbar. It looks much better. It went together beautifully. It’s very solid and my step daughter says she gets a good night sleep in the loft.
Love the look. However, we received a chipped corner for one of the panels around the bed. Also, parts were not numbered correctly so imagine looking for the parts, counting it prior to building to ensure it was all there and then coming to our conclusion that it was not numbered like it should be. It took about 3-4 hours of build.
5 Stars
My son luvs this bed, thanks me still for buying it for him. He is 6. The 2yr cousin luvs it and climbs stairs easily. Very study. I also sleep with son. I'm 140lbs. The white part would worries me, that if I pulled myself up holding it. I may break it. So I don't do it.
Not Walnut, but dark Espresso Brown
These are not the color advertised. Also, the whites are all various shades on each side- it's a bit of a pain for the price paid, but the bed was sturdy and good quality. There was no damage on the pieces for the loft bed, but we also ordered the bunk as well and received pieces with scratches on them.
Love
Beautiful bed. We love the wood color. Got the darker tone and went back and forth but glad we decided on this color. We will put a queen bed under the loft and it has the room to do so.
Solid and durable
We’ve had this bed for my 6-year-old son for over a year and it’s the best. My husband and I are usually reading with him every night, and never once have I worried about it not being able to hold us. I would recommend to anyone. Though it does take a little while to put it together.
Wow! This bed is great quality! It was received well packaged and undamaged and was easy enough for my husband to assemble. He’s very handy so I didn’t anticipate a problem. I didn’t buy the matching bed for under the loft bed. I went with a similar looking option that was a bit less low profile. I’ll add a photo once it is fully assemble and in place.
So far so good
Overall I’m happy with this bed. It seems solid. FYI to anyone buying-the slats are 9 inches apart. The mattress we have needs slats no more than 5 inches apart. I ended up buying six 1x4s and adding them between the slats to better support the mattress. This was far cheaper than spending another $130 on the upgraded slat rail. Make sure you do this with two people as it will go so much faster. I did it solo and took about 5 hours to assemble. My kid loves this bed. She’s 7.
Great investment!
Yes, it is a bit more expensive than some, but very well built and designed. Made of high quality materials and sturdy design. I assembled it by myself in an evening without issues. My 12 year old loves the extra room it gives her in her bedroom! A solid purchase!
Beautiful Loft Bed BUT
I can tell this will be a beautiful loft bed. However, significant parts arrived damaged and customer service has been horrendous. I have a partially built bed that I’m unable to use because customer service has not responded to my emails. In addition the bed arrived without the instructions. It’s been a terrible experience this far. Max & Lily please correct this immediately.
Quality product for a good price.
I don't leave a lot of reviews, but this is a quality product at a good price. Took me a few hours to assemble, but totally manageable for one person. I had previously bought a toddler bed from a competing website that was one of those situations where you know it's so cheap you're going to regret it, and it came destroyed upon shipping, which tells you the quality. The bed looks great and five-year old son loves it.
Long unclear assembly. Some parts are misnumbered causing us to think that we were missing pieces. We persevered through assembly hoping that it was just an error. Thankfully the bed went together sturdy and became easier towards the finishing. Longevity …the verdict is still out. It is a nice addition to a room that needed space saving. I would suggest purchasing and laying out all pieces before assembly….have millimeter ruler and measure your screws prior ro assembly. This will absolutely make your life easier. Happy Lofting!
Great bed
Really happy with this bed. My husband put it together for our 8 year old son by himself. Feels really sturdy. I can climb up to stay goodnight easily. I love the ladder -- it doesn't come out into the room very much but we really wanted a slant ladder. Has the perfect amount of room underneath for a desk and for our son to grow and still be able to sit under there along with enough room from the bed to the ceiling. We have 10 foot ceilings.
Other than the bed coming with 14 screws for the slats instead of 16 this was a relatively easy product to put together. I needed a little bit of help holding certain pieces upright and in place but all together a good experience. I do recommend using an allen/Hex key attachment in a screw driver otherwise your thumbs might hurt a bit. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Solid Bed. Nice looking design.
Solid product both figuratively and literally. Made of quality material and there is no wiggle or swaying like others we have tried. We were looking for one with the smallest footfrint to fit in daughters small bedroom and this was it!.
