Adorable bed, mixed quality, long assembly

Loving this new bed for our 4 year old - it is perfect for her to get onto, and play under. That said, be prepared for a 4-5 hour assembly time, SO MANY PIECES. Additionally, we were a little disappointed by the quality of how pieces are cut and line up - small spaces, gaps, misaligned boards etc.

Not very sturdy

I purchased this because Max & Lily advertised everything as real wood, and the bed has a 400 lb weight capacity, which is much higher than most low-price twin sized beds. I hoped it would be sturdy based on those combined factors, but it really isn't. Even after it was all assembled the entire thing feels a little shaky. You also need a bunkie board to support the mattress. At an 8" mattress thickness limit, you are not going to find anything supportive enough to just lay on the provided slats.

This took about 4 hours to build by one person. Quite a few holes weren’t pre-drilled quite right, with adjustments I was able to get the loft bed together. It’s cute and seems solid.

Great bed for adding extra space in a small bedroom

Overall we love the quality material and style of this loft bed. It was a Christmas gift for our 5 year old son. We did have an issue with a damaged side rail making the bed unusable for the first 2 weeks until the replacement parts arrived. It took longer than I expected because of the warehouse’s holiday closures.

The directions were inverted, the stairs came without all the parts and could not be assembled, and there were plenty of damages to the wood upon arrival. Without the stairs it's wobbly and unstable.

2 stars because the wood does seem good. However, I have put a LOT of furniture/kids furniture together, and this is a mess. The instructions are horrible. Depending on ladder placement, Instead of having separate instructions, you have to skip some pages and can be confusing. Hardware isn't labeled well and is all just thrown in bags together. I spent 10 minutes just organizing hardware. I'm definitely mechanically inclined, but this project takes over 4 hours to complete. Do not recommend.

The bed came packaged very

The bed came packaged very well to stay safe for shipping. It took my husband and I 5 hrs to build. It is sturdy and I like the metal beam under the bed as well for safety.

Very disappointed

3 parts came damaged and with 2 of us it took almost 7 hours to put together. Still not secure and some of the parts don’t line up. Major cracks on both the bed and the dresser parts. Very disappointed.

Quality issues

I’ve purchased two loft beds from Max and Lily, the stair and ladder versions. The gray stair version had noticeable quality control issues, such as blemished/damaged wood, inconsistent paint, and misaligned holes. Fortunately all the parts and hardware made it, so despite these physical and cosmetic imperfections the bed was built.

The loft bed I purchased for my grandson is wonderful. It took longer to arrive than expected, but was worth the wait. It was easy to assemble and he loves sleeping in his bed now!

3 wooden pieces came damaged. The box was not damaged, so I assume they were put into the box that way. Customer service was contacted and the pieces were replaced, just disappointing to receive items like that.

We have had the bed for a week and so far the bed has not been used and is partially assembled due to the following reasons:

We purchased this for my four year old. I spent a lot of time researching which bed to get her. We ended up with this one due to the steps and easy access. The bottom has enough room to put her play couch and a basket of toys. The steps have room underneath for storage bins. The quality is great. Would definitely recommend.

Great design and quality

We've been using our bed for about half a year now and we love it! My 3 year old and 5 year old can easily and safely get up and down, the bed is comfy, and they love playing underneath. Everything is holding up well and I appreciate the quality.
