The unit has been in operation for a month. Similar to the Whirlpool it replaced (its twin), there is an imbalance in maintaining recommended freezer/refrigerator temps. This may be related to contradictory directions for Air Control in the Owner's Manual ! So far the ice maker & interior lights are working well. Overall, the unit is acceptable.

Very bad experience

I did buy this item as an open box , but unfortunately arrived in very bad shape , I did call American Freight couple of time and they keep pushing me to their third party who delivered the item and claim that it was damaged by the delivery team

I purchased this refrigerator after my previous one didn't survive the Hurricane Helene power outage. Within 3 hours of installation, the first ice dropped from the ice maker and the refrigerator was colder than the coolers we had everything stored in. It was wonderful not having to live out of coolers anymore. I ordered directly from Maytag because every store in my area could not get anything for up to 2 months. Maytag had it in my house with 4 days. Excellent service!

[Rewarded Review] Deli drawer is FLIMSY!

I noticed on the first day that the deli drawer was poorly designed. I expect it to break any day now. After the first week of the flimsy drawer, I called Whirlpool customer service, and was on HOLD for over 25minutes until I finally hung up, because your cust service hours were closing. I would like an after market drawer, since I know you have sturdier ones. I am a firefighter, and the Maytag fridge we have at the station has a much better and sturdier drawer.

Great for the price. Not as roomy as I would like for taller bottles, like soda, wine or gallon sized bottles. The ice maker is excellent.

Ice maker is failing

The ice maker doesn’t consistently make ice. The back of it freezes and no ice is made. Daily I may only have a dozen ice cubes, it’s very frustrating.

Happy Wife, Happy Life! I purchased a Maytag because I wanted Dependability. She wanted the roominess of the Freezer, and layout of the Refrigerator. Plus, we only had so much space. She's Over the Moon with it now that it's installed.

This refrigerator was poorly designed. The vegetable drawers have space between drawer and shelf. Having the ability to set the humidity level is useless since there is a half inch gap. The freezer door shelf has a 2 inch gap. Items hang down and prevent door from closing. Had to come up with a method of blocking the gap. Meat shelf also has a one half inch gap so that compartment is open. Who ever designed this should not do it be evolved in this kind of work!

Quality Refrigerator overall. Very pleased with the look and space of this refrigerator. It replaced a 17 year old Maytag. The look, space, lighting and air filtration system are excellent. For its size it holds a large amount of fresh and frozen foods [compared to my older Maytag which was the equivalent size for its day]. Overall most pleased. Just one thing though - the refrigerator wide deli drawer is a bit on the weak side and one must be careful how much weight it can bare. Nothing seems broken but the plastic tracks are not overly weight baring.

This refrigerator replaced a 27 year old Maytag. I needed a fridge to fit into the same space as the one it replaced and this one fit that bill. I am pleasantly surprised to find this refrigerator seems to have a lot more space inside. It is deceptive in a good way because at first glance it didn't seem that way. Even the fruit and vegetable drawers fit more. Same with freezer, it holds a lot more and keeps everything frozen well! Only 2 complaints so far..... Storage on freezer door is a bit smaller and with an open space, smaller items fall through. Also, the cold cut drawer inside of fridge is a major design flaw. The drawer fell out on the 1st day, and many times since. I have to open it gingerly, move things around very cautiously and close it while holding my breath so as to not have it come off the tracks. Once off the tracks, to put it back in, I need to move the fridge out of its space so I can get the drawer back in. Not convenient and definitely makes me unhappy. Would love it if Maytag came out with a fix for this simple problem. Except for the deli drawer, I am very happy with this fridge!
