Poor quality control at Pleasant Hearth

This comment is directed at the Pleasant Hearth and not Lowes. First door I bought, the handles didn't line up to the holes. Thought I'd try again and 2nd door I bought, the seams had big gaps. These doors are suppose to block 90% of draft. Not with gaps like that. Will go to my original plan and design something to seal the fireplace opening myself since I don't intend to use it anymore. Lowes was very good at accomodating my return and listened to my complaint.

Great Quality

Great Quality Doors and Easy to install. These doors were purchased for our daughter and her husband. They are not only well constructed but they look great!!! We will most likely buy another set of doors for our son who has a similar fireplace.

Nice clean unit, BUT, the cross bar was missing a pencil diameter sized area of the black paint. Just as bad, it was obvious assembly line person rubbed on it to see if it would come off! Quality control seems to be a real issue with this company!

Great looking Fireplace Doors

I bought two of these black carlisle fireplace doors to replace my old dated brass doors. I measured twice and the small size fit my opening. These were packaged great and were very easy to install. They look great, very sleek looking and the magnetic screens and doors are nice. I highly recommend these doors.

The fireplace doors look great after installation. However, the packaging was missing a long, top clamp screw which I substituted with another machine screw. The lower side clamps did not clamp very tighlty against the vertical brick.

Fireplace Doors Dimensions are Questionable

Prior to ordering the fireplace doors, I contacted Pleasant Hearth and Lowe’s rep about the dimensions of my opening to ensure I was ordering the correct size for my fireplace. I was trying to decide between two sizes: either small or medium doors. Based on my measurements, they said I needed the small cabinet-style. When we installed the fireplace doors, there was a noticeable gap on both sides (width). This gap does not allow the doors to seal the fireplace opening. For this reason, I am returning the product. The Carlisle doors are nice quality, but I question there size dimensions listed.

Great product for the price and adds beauty to our fireplace.

Good quality product and easy to install. I would definitely recommend this product. My only feedback would be to provide a thicker fiberglass installation for the outerchannel to prevent airflow around the perimeter of the frame. When not in use, you get the smell of ash in the house, but it is not a deal breaker.

This was an awesome buy. The quality is as good if not better than I had hoped. Installation was alittle tricky for us, our opening was not as tall as needed. But we had a masonry friend who chipped the bricks that were giving us problems, and it fit perfectly. It totally updated our livingroom and we have received numerous compliments about how great it looks. I love it.

BEAUTIFUL FIREPLACE/BEAUTIFUL GLASS DOORS

The fireplace cabinet (screen with glass doors) is beautiful. Fits perfectly. The instructions were a bit "hit or miss". Read them twice and with some customization, the installation was pretty much a snap. It did require a some flexibility to stretch inside the fireplace to make the necessary adjustments to ensure the fit was secure. Once all done, perfect.

Great price on high quality fireplace cabinet glass doors. This unit is built solid and it's simple design is neutral and fits well in my family room. The design adds a dimensional quality but nothing too busy and distracting. I am very pleased with the thickness and tint of the glass doors as well as the sturdy screens behind them. We've had it for over a month, it replaced the original unit I had installed over 20 years ago which had tarnished (brass) and generally worn out. Installation of this unit was easy, I bought the "large" unit for an opening measuring 36" X 27" and its fits great.

I have not been able to use yet since the purchase. Home Depot recommended someone to install this unit, however twice now these installs for Home Depot are a NO SHOW!! VERY POOR SERVICE RECOMMENDED BY HOME DEPOT. I am now looking for someone else. Will never use Home Depots installer again. I guess they are too good for the small stuff, which is too bad. I am wanting more work done on my home, new decking, painting and granite kitchen counters tops. But I guess I will have to go to LOWES!!
